Character Details | "Since you're in Sumeru, you must not miss Nilou's performances." This is a fact that most people in Sumeru agree on. There is no threshold for Nilou's dances, so everyone can come and enjoy a most fascinating and engrossing time there. Nilou's audience comes from all walks of life. Be it a knowledgeable researcher or a mercenary who's seen true brutality — everyone is attracted here by Nilou's gorgeous, dancing form. Every time Nilou takes the stage, a press of people crowds the Grand Bazaar until all are standing shoulder to shoulder. Rational sense and wisdom are the mainstream in Sumeru, while art, which stands for sensibility, does not enjoy the same popularity and respect. Yet if wisdom is meaning bestowed upon Sumeru by the goddess, then art stands for meaning that human beings seek for themselves. |
Character Story 1 | Unlike other dancers across the continent who hail from artistic families, Nilou came from an ordinary family in Sumeru. The life that the family of three once lived was no different from that of many who lived in downtown area. The knowledge they gained from the Akasha was enough for their common day-to-day lives. If there was anything special about Nilou's family, it was that Nilou's parents' loved and cared for her very much. Although the pursuit of scholarship is prevalent in Sumeru, Nilou's parents never compared Nilou with other children, nor did they expect Nilou to become a researcher. Growing up happily and living a stable life was all that they wanted for her. Nilou thus grew up surrounded by love and respect. Later, even when there were differences of opinion and occasional arguments between her parents, Nilou's thoughtful and considerate mediation would permit no harm or grudge to ever linger in their family. * Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 2 |
Character Story 2 | Every inch of the Grand Bazaar has been measured by Nilou's footprints, and she keeps everyone at Grand Bazaar in her heart. Nilou can introduce anyone in the Grand Bazaar in detail, as if they were a family member. Mr. Jut usually gets up early to make tahchin, so if you want the privilege of having the most delicious bite of freshly cooked tahchin, be sure to get up early! Mr. Afshin's storytelling skills are simply divine. His wonderful ingenuity always makes people want to buy his merchandise. Mr. Hushang, who sells toys, has very dexterous hands. With them, he fashions the most fascinating little toys, and they are very popular amongst children. And, of course, everyone has long regarded this smart red-haired girl as a family member too. Every time Nilou goes grocery shopping, she always ends up carrying more items than on her purchase list just by making a single trip through the streets, and the weight of the groceries shows exactly how much people like and take care of Nilou. Of course, Nilou also takes care of them in return. Hushang and Farhad may have a quarrel over a bet, about as long as Nilou shows up, the two will surely be reconciled. If Afshin's Sumpter Beasts have stolen someone else's food, Nilou will come forward and help make amends. If you ask Nilou why she is so enthusiastic, she will answer with a smile: "Because family is supposed to help each other, hehe." For Nilou, her mom and dad are her small family, while everyone in the Grand Bazaar is her big family. * Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 3 |
Character Story 3 | Nilou remembers clearly that she met her teacher at the Sabzeruz Festival when she was eight years old. Back then, the Knight of Flowers gave her a lot of Yalda Candies, and so little Nilou passed by the Zubayr Theater with candies in both hands. The Sabzeruz Festival is a celebration that features dance, but before, only dance groups from abroad were invited to sing and dance at the festival — and on a temporary stage, to boot. Now that the Grand Bazaar finally had its own theater, excited people were flocking to the new stage. Little Nilou managed to squeeze through the crowd to the front of the stage and saw the teacher dance for the first time. Even though there were no flowers on the stage, at that moment, Nilou felt as if she was watching thousands upon thousands of flowers blooming all at once. The candies in her hands fell to the ground unnoticed, and she couldn't help but dance along. It was only when the dance had ended that little Nilou realized what she had done, and hurriedly apologized to the people around her who had made room. It was at this moment that her teacher also walked down from the stage in an elegant manner and helped her pick the Yalda Candies back up. She reached out her hand to little Nilou, and asked gracefully— "Would you like to join me for a future dance?" * Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 4 |
Character Story 4 | Although she has lived her entire life in Sumeru, the city of wisdom, Nilou has never shown any talent in the field of "knowledge." However, she always knows how to soothe the emotions of others in her own way. "This is probably a generous gift to me from Lesser Lord Kusanali." After learning to dance with her teacher, Nilou became deeply aware of the power of body language. Combining her talents and knowledge of body language, she created her very own form of "body movement therapy." For example, when Mr. Zubayr is angry, everyone in the theater would be walking on eggshells. But Nilou would keep a warm smile, drawing wonderful patterns one after another in the air with her arms and fingers. "Imagine that we are in the rainforest that has just rained, and that you are following me as we walk onward, saying hello to every animal that passes by, waving, leaving everything else behind..." Perhaps this may seem childish and funny to a bystander, but for those who are wrapped up in the moment, Nilou's gentle voice can cause the anger that clouds their minds to disappear before they even know it. What's even more amazing is that, according to Mr. Afshin, this body movement therapy has been trending recently — and it even works on his two stubborn Sumpter Beasts... * Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 5 |
Character Story 5 | Be it in day-to-day life or her performances on stage, Nilou has always maintained a simple attitude — To melt everyone's worries away and let comfort and ease waltz in. But when "trouble" comes to her, she is often distressed due to her inability to make the call. Tahchin sure is delicious, but Pita Pocket is also good, and I also saw someone holding a Potato Boat that seemed really yummy. Which one should I eat tonight? I've heard people talk about places outside Sumeru City... the pure white snowy mountain and windmills the size of giants... Should I also consider going out for a trip? Nilou can often find good reasons to go with any of the options she is considering, and so they are like Forest Tree Frogs sitting across from one another with bellies out, not one able to win the others over. But if there was a person who could make a decision at this time and tell her with confidence and calm: "Why not have half the amount of each and share them with me?" "And as for those places you have never been to, I have already set foot there. I can assure you that they are safe." ...Nilou would dismiss her hesitation in an instant and raise her arms in a dance-like graceful gesture of thanks, before indulging in the joy of having solved a great problem for a long time indeed. * Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 6 |
Letters from the Audience | Refusing to accept gifts on stage has been a long-standing rule in the Zubayr Theater. Sometimes, the audiences do still get too excited and may insist on giving various kinds of gifts to Nilou. That said, such givers will definitely receive a gift in return the very next day, along with a note that has been left at their doors... "Thank you for your kindness. If you would like to express your love for Nilou's dance, you may write a letter to the Zubayr Theater instead of sending gifts." And so it came to pass that like snow flakes dancing and falling in the air, letters filled with the audience members' passionate praise have been sent in batches and droves by the Dusk Birds to the theater's mailbox. During her free time when there are no shows or rehearsals, Nilou will read every letter carefully, share this joy with the other members of the Zubayr Theater, and then carefully preserve these letters. Every word and every expression of recognition and fondness in the letters is worth remembering and appreciating. As Nilou bettered her dancing skills, more and more people came to watch her dance, and in time, the letters have added up to quite the stack indeed. But if someone cracks a joke, saying that Nilou is the most valuable treasure in the Zubayr Theater, she will definitely shake her head with a sweet smile. "Our most valuable treasure is our audience's love, and it is all carefully stored in one mysterious box." * Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 4 |
Vision | Nilou has heard her teacher talk about the meaning of dance more than once. From her teacher's perspective, dance is born from human life and has belonged to everyone from the very beginning. "As a dancer, you should convey emotions on stage, and your audience's smiles are their response to the emotions conveyed in your dance." Nilou was well aware that she was nowhere near as good at thinking about the "meaning" behind things as Akademiya researchers. But still, she practiced diligently each day under the direction of her teacher and planned to continue following in her footsteps. When she finally first took the stage, she quickly became completely immersed in the performance, holding nothing back. She thought of the wind, the moon, the gentle sound of the rose blooming, the feeling of stroking the tail feathers of Dusk Birds, and a myriad of beautiful things that existed in this world. She wanted to display the beauty she perceived in her heart to the entire audience through her dance. Slowly, splashes of water ran together, converging into a lake on the stage. Like a Crystalfly dancing on a lake's surface, Nilou gently fluttered back and forth, and the lake-mirror rippled slightly in time to her steps. Like a water lily, her body swirled in the middle of that lake. Amazed at such pure and flawless beauty, the audience almost forgot to breathe. After the curtain fell, Nilou flopped down on the backstage chair and took deep breaths. Like dewdrops on a lotus leaf, a Hydro Vision had appeared at her waist. Nilou thought then that she had perhaps found the purpose of dance at last — "To become beauty, and then to convey the beauty and value of art." * Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 6 |

The NYNY , Nilou Yelan Nahida Yaoyao …u heard it hear first
And you’ll heard it here last
We need a dendro healer with outfield dendro application like Qiqi or diona and guess who was playing with Qiqi . Yaoyao
Looking at her burst, it looks like it has some nuke potential. Is it me being bad at math or does it have similar scaling to ayaka’s? Please lemme know since I have no idea how to scale motion value and calculate dmg on genshin
Nuke potential yes, but it depend on you set up, usually Ayaka is superior because CD ascension stat and BS allow high crit damage.
Without buffs and before calculating enemy lvl and resistance :
Nilou with sig weapon can have 57K HP easily with a DPS build. Ult does 73,73% of HP at lvl 10 so it’s 42 K base damage.
Ayaka with Amenoma (or Sig weap without an atk hat) can achieve 2,1K attack. Ult does 4 143,87 % of atk at lvl 10 so it’s 87 K base damage.
Atk is easier to boost than HP and Shenhe exists so Ayaka still deals way more damage. But in vape build, Nilou will be able to dish a good chunk of damage =D Ult hit two times so you will have to reapply pyro between those two hit.
you kinda need kokomi because of all the self damage, thats fine tho as a lot of 5 stars need other 5 stars, the problem is that if you try to heal Nilou with Kokomi’s E while Nilou is on field, you are gonna loose the dendro cuz its too much hydro. you can fix it with Collei’s A1 and ult but then you used everything really really quick and will need a lot of ER
so, heres hoping that Nahida applies dendro a lot faster than Dendro MC
Could also just run Barbara over Kokomi to reduce the amount of hydro you apply. Barbara’s C2 is also a slight boost to Nilou’s burst damage.
Barbara works too, you know. In fact Barb’s presence in the team may reduce the possibility of applying too much hydro.
yeah, but barbara doesnt heal as much and her E self electrocharging and self freezing is kinda really really annoying
Nilou’s E also applies wet to your character if you use the ring.
i was talking about on field dps nilou tho
she doesnt apply hydro to herself
Nilou’s Elemental Skill doesn’t apply Wet status to your character at all – nor is this stated anywhere in the description for Whirling Steps.
It’s amazing how easily people make things up (or misinterpret kit information) and state it like a fact.
just don’t get hit EZ
joking aside, Barb’s C2 give active character 15% hydro dmg bonus
My hopes are more on staying faster with hydro to put the two dendros full EM so they proc the reactions, so Nilou and Kokomi can keep doing there stuff as they want.
She isn’t even a bad unit. She could be better with access to Hyperbloom/Burgeon buffs, but I know they did that to her bc she can already proc a very strong Vaporize. She would be too OP without that nerf. Please keep in mind that they are constantly trying to nerf Hydro units or make them into supports bc Hydro is the most versatile element in the game. Vaporize and Swirl are the only reactions of Hydro that deal actual Hydro DMG, but these reactions are enough to make most hydro units deal killer damage. Frozen is utility, Electro-Charged deals Electro DMG, and Bloom deals Dendro AoE DMG.
Nilou is her strongest within the parameters of her passive, but she is also still very strong without it as well. Everyone has seen how Yelan performs. Yelan’s Skill HP scaling is similar to the burst scaling on Nilou, and Yelan’s Burst HP scaling is similar to Nilou’s Skill HP scaling, not to mention how Nilou has much greater access and scaling from HP in other areas of her kit. With or without Bloom, she is still a solid unit bc of Vaporize/Frozen.
I get the feeling she will run very well with Kusanali, she is a devout believer after all. Also, it’s worth noting that we have no way of increasing Bloom’s Reaction DMG currently, as in an artifact set. Nilou is the only unit that has access to Bloom buffs like this, currently.
ocz she’s not bad, she is a niche. But it’s a niche that can be as bastardish as possible with that kind of attitude.
does she need good crit ratio? like 50/150+ like most dps? cuz with triple HP% 2 set ToM and 2 set HoD I can only managed to get 35/120 crit ratio. I’m also planning to get her weapon. Is my stats good enough to make her viable? Thank you.
Nope Crit is useless on her. So is the HOD set. No point in getting hydro damage. All her damage comes from Bloom. Its a transformative reaction that cant crit. So you need as much HP and EM as possible. She scales of HP and Bloom scales of EM. So 2 TOM and 2 Wanderor/2 Gilded.
You can go for Crit but that is the most copium build of all. It will only be a Damage Per Screenshot build. Rest of the time your damage will be copium. And you will definitely need the weapon if your going for Nilou, cause thats the only weapon that can give HP and EM to reach her damage threshold. No other weapon in the game has that.
So, her bis arti is 2ToM and 2EM? How about the mainstats tho, im aiming for bloom nilou
HP% mainstat with EM and ER rolls.
what weapons would be good on nilou if you don’t get her signature?
Currently there are no 4 star or 3 star weapons with HP% stat. Jade Cutters scales on HP but thats a crit and attack weapon, so thats useless. You can use EM weapons to boost bloom like Freedom and Iron Sting. The sapwood blade is a good balance between ER and EM.
But None of this weapons comes close to damage% required. You miss the HP% to boost the damage.
I agree with most of this. However reaching a character’s damage threshold with their signature weapon has never been necessary to fully play the game. I suspect Nilou can still function with other viable weapons and properly built teammates. And… there are more Dendro units yet to come whose kits are a mystery.
For artifacts, might as well wait until she’s released. There’s no point in using resin on something that hasn’t been fully tested and understood yet. Especially when Bloom teams and their mechanics have no predecessors. Also, if Albedo, Kokomi, and Xiao are any evidence, Nilou’s best artifact set could be in the pipeline. There are just too many unknown variables.
I hope thats the case but her teamcomps very restricted. Your stuck with 2 Hydro for HP% resonance and 2 Dendro for EM. Currently there are no viable weapon options out there for her. Shes the first case. She can function with EM weapons but there aint no HP% weapons. Without her signature weapon you might as well play Kokomi dps with EM arts. Just too many variables.
If your waiting for other Dendro units and an artifact set, might as well not pull her cause she will be just sitting in your teapot looking preety.
I’m just using leftover artifacts that I have, so I’m just guessing from what she need
so it will be better to stack as much HP and EM as possible rather than going for crit? noted, thx for the reply
All this whining over passives, damage, and elemental application… I’m just happy about her being another unit that doesn’t have to juggle crit ratios from artifact farming to function in a team. Right up there with Blizzard Strayer set comfort. rofl

hi, what’s the most suitable 4* weapon for her? i’m assuming R5 iron sting and also her best artifact set? got almost everything ready to 2-3 crown her except the artifact ’cause her kit is kind of confusing for me
It is possible that she gets her own set along with cyno’s in a new artifact domain. For now i’d say that any combination of 2pc Heart of Depths/2pc Tennacity/2pc Guilded Dreams should work fine as a generalist build
One of the popular recommendations is Festering Desire if you have it.
Usefulness of EM on Nilou depends completely on whether or not she is activating reactions. With our current character roster, it is looking like hydro application is much faster than Dendro application, so Dendro would be activating the Bloom reactions rather than hydro. That might change with release of Nahida though, or you could reduce your own hydro application by running Barbara as your second hydro character and healer.
If she is activating reactions, then Iron Sting is an amazing choice. However in my opinion ER weapons would be the safest bet regardless of your team:
– Favonius helps with energy of your entire team.
– Sac Sword will (probably?) let you first use the 3 Whirling Dance steps to spawn the Water Wheel and reset her E’s cooldown and then use her hydro infused normal attacks to deal more on-field damage.
– Festering Desire is nice for increasing her Whirling Step damage.
– Sapwood Blade can be used to buff the EM of whoever is activating the reactions in your team.
In terms of artifacts, 2 piece TotM and 2 piece HoD is an extremely safe choice, since she doesn’t have a perfect set tailored for her. If she is activating reactions, Gilded Dreams would also work to increase her EM.
This is just pure speculation since most people will only be able to test her kit after she actually releases.
ah ok, i think i’ll just wait until her release but for now, im going to just farm gilded domain and scrap trash artis to craft HoD on strongbox
in my opinion her best weapon if u don’t have her signature weapon is probably gonna be the harbinger of dawn since it gives U a ton of crit DMG and crit rate and the low base attack doesn’t matter since she scales with hp
I would guess that it will be sac sword because it allows her to re cast he e skill and her burst is fairly expensive.

Blooms are nice and stuff but how do you deal with cryo shields from cryo mages or slimes?
With another team. Some floor are nearly made for some elements. Last cycle, 12-3-1 was made for pyro and pretty hard without it. I did it with taser but bringing Bennett + Kazuha made life easier.
The same way people deal with it if they have Freeze teams built. Duh. Use your brain instead of the “Hurr durr Cryo shield” echo chamber.
