Gain different effects depending on the next action you take within a short duration after using Fluttering Hasode's upward sweep. If you Press the Elemental Skill, you will trigger the Tapestry effect. If you Press your Normal Attack, the Tailoring effect will be triggered instead.

Tapestry

· Grants all your party members "Seize the Moment": When your active party member's Normal Attacks, Charged Attacks, and Plunging Attacks hit a nearby opponent, "Tamoto" will execute a coordinated attack, dealing 100% of Fluttering Hasode's upward sweep DMG as AoE Geo DMG at the opponent's location. DMG dealt this way is considered Elemental Skill DMG.
· "Seize the Moment" lasts 8s, and 1 of "Tamoto"'s coordinated attack can be unleashed every 2s. 2 such coordinated attacks can occur per "Seize the Moment" effect duration.

Tailoring
· Chiori gains Geo infusion for 5s.

When on the field, if Chiori does not either Press her Elemental Skill or use a Normal Attack within a short time after using Fluttering Hasode's upward sweep, the Tailoring effect will be triggered by default.

Character DetailsYou push open the doors to the boutique. Situated on one of Fontaine's busiest thoroughfares, it is named for its designer.
The crisp ringing of a bell chimes from above as if wishing luck to all customers who step through the door. If the rumors swirling about have even a grain of truth to them, then perhaps such blessings will come in handy.
"Welcome to the Chioriya Boutique, how may I help you?" The greeting that reaches your ears, while perhaps lacking somewhat in enthusiasm, is filled with assurance.
The owner of the voice shoots you a glance from behind the counter. A striking foreigner with captivating eyes — just like they said.
"A personalized, custom job? Or something off the shelf?" Her second question. The tone fills you with a certain feeling — as though the second someone steps through the door, even the highest-ranking aristocrat becomes merely a guest in her kingdom, while she sits high upon her throne, allowing supplicants to choose from among the blessings she offers.
"I'd like tailor-made formal attire." You say. Her expression softens a little. It appears that in this kingdom, customizing the cut of the cloth to the customer and designing a personalized outfit in the Kingdom's name is something worth a smile.
Perhaps this is the best possible outcome, you muse to yourself. After all, those who recommended the shop to you not only all praised the exquisite handiwork of this designer, but some nearly couldn't stop themselves from opening wide their wardrobes to show off the dazzling contents within, as though they wished nothing more than to shove you inside to bask in the clothes' glory for a day. They even say that the owner of the shop is rarely found within, and if she is on the premises, that means she is in a good mood.
But you quietly swallow all the same, for you know when fortune does not hold you in her fickle favor, then all manner of unimaginable and outrageous things may occur when the owner is in, such as...
Before you can even get a handle on your thoughts and feelings, the bell above the door screams a metallic protest. The boutique's door has been kicked wide open by a man swaying and rocking, foul breath reeking of alcohol and language yet more foul spilling out of his mouth.
"I—I won! I won the bet, the Boss is in toda—" Though you could not clearly see just what happened, before he even finished speaking, he suddenly flew out the window, drawing an elegant arc through the air.
Chiori brushes her hands and closes the window, before saying to you, as if nothing had happened, "Apologies, the weather has been somewhat inclement of late. All kinds of trash have come blowing into my shop. It's been taken care of, so pay it no heed."
It appears this kingdom does not welcome all unconditionally.
Character Story 1"Ms. Chiori, what past experiences did you have that forged the success you now enjoy?" — A reporter once asked her this question.
Chiori had hesitated as she searched for an appropriate response in her memories, but simply could not find a good answer. After all, in her own estimation, there was nothing special at all about her past.
Chiori was born into a family of merchants. Though not well-off by any means, she had lacked for nothing in her childhood. Busy with their business, her parents had not been overly strict with her. This, her parents joked, is what had created her carefree and unbridled nature.
At the age when many young girls began to study the art of tea or of flowers, Chiori was climbing trees and catching fish with other children... It wasn't that her parents never tried to get her to learn. But making Chiori sit quietly in front of a tea table for an entire day? Why, that would be the death of her (and of her teacher).
—Alright, then let's just have her study the art of the sword, said her father.
Before long, Chiori was carrying two swords with her to class. "Two is obviously better," she declared, boldly and confidently, dual blades in hand.
Her teacher had never seen a student with — his words to her father were tactfully chosen — such personality. And thus a seething Chiori was sent back home.
Similar scenes played out many times, yet Chiori's parents were never too harsh with her, only believing "That's just how she is."
Until one day, Chiori's mother came home to discover her sitting quietly before the table, staring entranced at a bolt of high-quality fabric. The Chiori that was normally bouncing off the walls was nowhere to be found.
"Do you like it?" Asked her mother. "It feels so smooth," came little Chiori's blunt answer, "And it's so pretty, how was it made?"
And thus, in the days that followed, Chiori sent tailoring teacher after teacher storming off in frustration, just as before. But at the same time, she also learned many tailoring techniques.
Also, in all fairness, it should be mentioned that Chiori was already far more well-behaved with the tailors than she had been with all those other teachers.

Character Story 2When the news of Inazuma's Sakoku policy reached Fontaine, the topics of tea-table discussions centered around the "Raiden Shogun" over there, that "Vision Hunt Decree," and those ceaseless thunderstorms on the islands, as though discussing some sort of fantastical anecdotes.
After all, even the loudest thunderclap cannot be heard across the vastness of the sea to the dome of the sky above their heads.
But the people of Fontaine could never have imagined that a storm that would imminently engulf Fontaine had at that time already left the shores of Inazuma, and was quietly heading for them. And the name of that storm was "Chiori."
The storm took shape on the journey out of Inazuma. From the very beginning, it had decided to let loose its thunder upon the streets of Fontaine — the capital of fashion and the City of the Arts.
At first, it was only a few rumblings from the diverse firmament of the fashion world that nobody paid much heed to.
"It's just a fad, that's all," "It'll be forgotten in a few days"... That's what they all said at first, as though they were discussing nothing more than a cat of unusual coloration that had appeared on the streets.
Yet after this storm named "Chiori" struck that year's Fontaine Fashion Week, nearly all could hear the echoes of its thunderous fury reverberating throughout Fontaine.
In a flash, the headlines of Fontaine's papers were completely occupied with a foreign name.
Some critics have opined that quality clothes are not just for looking at, but can also be "heard." In this aspect, Chiori had succeeded. Every stitch and thread of her clothes told a story: the echoes of waves, the breathing of a forest, a sweet spring gushing forth in the desert...
Naturally, the "old guard" of the fashion world could not tolerate this foreign interloper encroaching upon their territory, and thus raised their banners and declared war upon this "invader," using various methods.
Yet everyone can see how it ended. Not only did they taste the bitterness of defeat, but some of them — for the first time in their lives — tasted the feeling of falling butt-first into the gutter.

Character Story 3It is unclear when the Chioriya Boutique gained the nickname of "intelligence boutique." Even Chiori herself is at a bit of a loss as to how this occurred. It's almost as if all she needs to do is share some of the information she has overheard in her shop with her friends, and it will have a tremendous impact on certain matters.
Later, she came to understand that rather than the Chioriya Boutique being the source of reams of intelligence, it was better to say that rivers of intelligence flowed of their own accord through her doors.
Those impeccably dressed merchants and government dignitaries were a kaleidoscopic flock of butterflies, each scattering the pollen known as "intelligence" from their fluttering wings onto that gorgeous flower called the Chioriya Boutique. Their actual intention was not to pollinate this flower, but rather to flaunt just how much pollen they had to the other butterflies. They consider the amount of information one had on them to be far more worthy of taking pride in than the quantity of gems sewn into one's garments.
—Have you heard? So-and-so has yet another new flame!
—Oh, and that one, they seem to have sealed a huge deal with the one from the Maison Gardiennage!
—You mean the one in charge of transportation? Now I've heard that what he's really transporting is...
—Shh! You can't say that out loud!
...
If she really had to choose, Chiori would rather not listen to all this. She feels allergic to this sort of pollen, with the primary symptom being difficulty in quietly and wholeheartedly focusing on clothing. Thus, when designing new styles and products, she generally does not show up in her shop.
But after realizing the value of such intelligence, she began to take a certain amount of notice on behalf of others. Should the interests of friends or the safety of Fontaine be involved, she would kindly send a letter to give a friendly reminder, or do so to their face. For her, this is no different from tailoring clothes — sewing each element into its proper place.
In accordance with a businessperson's principles, Chiori naturally collects some small tokens of "repayment." After all, as she is wont to say: It's only business if there's an exchange.

Character Story 4If you truly wish to understand Chiori's designs, then you must witness Chiori fashioning clothes with your own eyes.
The first time people see said designs, it's as if they cannot comprehend what is before them. Does this designer not know what "rules" are? How can women's clothes be tailored like men's? How can men's formalwear use women's fabrics?
Yet there is some quality within that attracts them, and halts them in their tracks. It's as if all of this rejection and resistance to the "rules" is so eminently reasonable that it is plainly saying: You are the ones who are wrong.
It is the same for Chiori as she tailors the clothes. From the way she treats the fabric, it is as if she has never seen the material before. Her cuts come from unexpected angles, ignoring the direction of the thread, and sometimes suddenly seizing upon adding a completely new structure halfway through, before upending her own work once again...
Sometimes, she will even draw her sword and swiftly cut the first-rate fabric before her with a clean slash, as though she were not making clothes, but rather dueling — as though she were fighting with the fabric in her hands, vying for authority, with her emerging as the ultimate victor.
No one makes clothes as she does, much less converses so with the fabric. Her workstation becomes an operating table, and she knows just what the perfect form of the fabric is, with each stroke of her blade excising lesions and sores from her patient...
An employee once complained to Chiori that it was too difficult to cut the style she requested.
—"Why? Are your scissors not sharp enough?"
—"No, that's not it... It's just..."
—"Then you can cut it."
She will make you feel that if you cannot cut and trim clothes exactly as you please, then that is because you're simply too foolish to do so. Yet when you see the clothes she tailors, you will feel that if you cannot live exactly as you please, then that is yet more foolish still.
"Ms. Chiori, I would like to ask, just how do you design your clothes?" —Came the reporter's question.
—"However I want."

Character Story 5Dreams. Such an ephemeral word, far flimsier than even the thinnest silks Chiori has laid hands on. Yet when worn, they can be heavier and more suffocating than the thickest fabric.
She chased her dream all the way to Fontaine, and yet when she finally managed to catch up to it, she discovered that it had once more run even farther away of its own accord.
So, what next? Take up the burden of her dream and forge ahead, or just be content with what she had?
—No. Chiori firmly told herself. I choose neither.
She enjoyed the sweet aftertaste dreams left, the satisfaction that filled her. Yet she hated using dreams of the future to urge herself onward. That was itself a kind of shackle.
She chooses to live in the present.
She will work tirelessly day and night on a piece of clothing, just so that it might grace the stage of Fashion Week. She will also disappear for weeks on a whim, enjoying every sight along the way, the starry sky overhead every night, until finally setting off on the road back home once tired. It all depends on her mood.
None can dictate any aspect of her life to her, no one can tell her what she "should" do; not even her own dreams. It is almost as if she would toss life itself out the window without a moment's hesitation, should it prove an obstacle to her.
"Never give up" is Chiori's true brand. She has said so herself.
Strangely, it's as though it is in fact her "dream" that has begun actively trying to draw close to her out of fright. As opposed to her chasing it, her dream is attempting to curry favor with her, like a once-wild tamed beast attempting to cozy up to its new master's side.
—Ms. Chiori, you've said that you want your brand to become fashionable across Teyvat. May I ask when you expect to achieve this goal?
—Hard to say. Perhaps when I feel like it.

Chiori's DraftsWhen a Snow-Winged Goose chasing the reflection of the moon leapt into the lake, Chiori awoke. She blinked and yawned, gazing at the black evening dress glittering like the star-studded heavens. The shadows of her dream were melting in her mind, leaving inky traces of sadness.
"Scissors, please." She pushed herself into a sitting position as her loyal assistant appeared by her side, handing Chiori the tool in her hand.
"And a pencil." She added, and "Tamoto" pulled out a pencil that seemed to have seen quite some use from who knows where.
When seeking inspiration, Chiori prefers solitude to company, and often sets off on her own with little more than the clothes on her back, disliking burdening herself with this and that.
A notebook is something that nags at her, as though begging her to write something down. A map is too confining, as though seeking to draw lines and boundaries through her empire of fashion without her say-so.
Her drafts are harder to understand than those of any other designer in the business, for they are often drawn on menus, leaves, or even her own clothing...
Yet her finished products are also more breathtaking than those of any other designer, as they are the distillation of the scenery she has seen, the characters she has met, and even those melted remnants of dreams...
"Done." She looked at the newspaper before her — or more precisely, the tattered remnants thereof — and nodded in satisfaction. She didn't even remember how she had picked it up today, but that was irrelevant.
Her drafts are born with such spontaneity, and completed with the same free and easy spirit: They are brought back to the Chioriya Boutique, copied out onto the toile, and then turned into tea-stained taiyaki wrapping paper before finally being laid to rest in the garbage.
And as for the essence of the drafts... They are for customers to admire and acclaim, and for being enshrined on the front page of fashion magazines.

VisionNo way forward. Nothing left to do.
Chiori lay prone before the table, eyebrows knitting at her first work. "Tamoto" said nothing, as though sleeping — or perhaps it was that she had simply never awoken. Chiori's habit was to use a small amount of cloth to try out her designs on Tamoto before making an outfit. Should the result prove satisfactory, she would then copy the design onto a full-size model. Yet none of her designs had been able to gain the approval of her teacher.
Not long before, yet another teacher had expelled her. She had gradually come to understand that sometimes, it wasn't that her teachers disliked her designs, but that they simply didn't dare to be the first to adopt such designs. The judgmental gaze of others were threads far harder to snip than the stitches of any clothes.
"And what do you think?" She asked the puppet in front of her. "Tamoto" had never complained about her designs, and would happily try on any clothes without protest. But if she could open her mouth, would she say those three words, "I like it"?
Not long before, Ogura Textiles & Kimonos had extended an invitation to Chiori, asking her to work in the shop. Chiori appreciated Ogura Mio's intentions, for among the children studying tailoring, she was one who seemed to admire Chiori's designs.
But no. Chiori shook her head, rejecting the idea.
When all was said and done, that was someone's else shop, someone else's name. She didn't like the feeling of dwelling within the home of another.
"Fontaine..." She whispered softly. The word had been bubbling to the surface of her mind of late, as a hummed tune overheard may linger forever in the ear, unforgettable.
The books said that was the capital of fashion, a city of the arts. The merchants said it was a place that revered entertainment, and that anything interesting would be liked by everyone there.
Then, Chiori had thought it too far away. It would take months of travel just to get there. Now, she felt that Inazuma was too far away. Her designs would reach few here.
"Fontaine... Fontaine..." She murmured the name several more times, as though doing so could pull that faraway country closer to her.
As she thought of "Ogura Textiles & Kimonos," she found herself speaking another name — "Chioriya Boutique."
—It was as though her heartstrings had suddenly been plucked and were now humming. The sounds of "Fontaine" and "Chioriya Boutique" were two notes that seemed to form a perfect harmonious chord.
"Fontaine's 'Chioriya Boutique'..." She closed her eyes and imagined a sign emblazoned with her name appearing on Fontaine's vibrant avenues, and how the people there would sound speaking the strange name. It suddenly all seemed so real to her, as though, at that moment, the real her was already in Fontaine, and the "her" left here was merely a shadow she had carelessly left behind in Inazuma.
She swiftly sat up and left the house without so much as a word to her parents. They were shocked, and looked at each other in dismay, guessing that perhaps she was going out for a walk to unwind. Yet when she next returned, she had already said her goodbyes to some, and left a few others with no doubt as to what she really thought of them. Either way, the name "Chiori" would certainly return to Inazuma's shores long before she did. That was the oath she swore.
"I'm leaving tomorrow," She said to her parents. That melody humming internally was urging her forward, and she had to go chase the her that was in Fontaine.
Her mother looked at her father reproachfully, as if to say "Of all the traits she inherited, it had to have been your personality."
Naturally, her parents didn't try to stop her, as they knew very well that once this child said something, it was already set in stone.
As Chiori returned to her room to pack her things, the items on her table suddenly shifted, startling her.
"Tamoto" slowly turned in circles, as though showing off the clothes Chiori had made for her, before happily floating over to Chiori— and in the puppet's outstretched hands was a brilliant Vision.

  2. Oh my gosh… Every single new character is getting a billion of doomposts every single time and every single time you praise it afterwards. Hoyoverse is trying hard to make an interesting kit and not to break the balance and you’re telling me this is bad. Remember Xianyun? EVERYONE, I MEAN, LITERALLY EVERYONE told she’s xiao’s dedicated bitch before she released, and now we have a whole new meta branch of teams and no one tells she’s “bad” or “only for xiao”. Chiori may be not as strong as Xianyun, but she’s definitely not useless and has some interesting cases. we can’t talk about it without information like ICD. Or you want this game to develop like HSR where literally any new character is broken and meta shifts once every three months?

    • I wasn’t interested in Xianyun, so I don’t knows what doomposters were posting, but its was no doubt for me that she’s gonna be good. I mean, she enables new type od gameplay AND she is good healer (just not for my playstyle + I was saving for Chiori). Only downsite I can think about is that you cannot use E mid-air (so she can beat Kazuha in exploration teams… although her massive for fast gliding is probably close enough).

In Chiori I hate long cool down, dolls being stationary, but mostly that her constelations are so much crash grabs it hurts.
All of it makes me wanna pull for her weapon first, because it’s good for any DPS.

    • What’s interesting from Chiori’s kit? Her E is basically Keqing/Alhaitam’s but with 16 secs summon, her Q is basically Kazuha’s but pure geo damage. Her normals are cool but unusable like always. And now rumors said Arlechino kits are basically Childe’s kits copy-pasted but pryo lololol. Seems like Genshin devs are running out of ideas for new characters kits.

I’ll be real with you, HSR right now is waaay more interesting than Genshin. The limited character feels strong and complemented with beautiful models and animations, so our hard earned jades (primos) don’t feel wasted. Also your last sentence is false because we can still destroy MOC (Spiral Abyss) with old characters.

      • “her Q is basically Kazuha’s but pure geo damage” goodness dude, it does damage once and that’s it. How is that anything like Kazuha’s? Have you ever read his burst description? You talk about Genshin devs running out of ideas but you can’t even come up with a good comparison for your own doomposting. Go back to HSR.

          • Nice bait.
HSR players got a pew-pew brainless unit with high numbers. Nothing more. Ratio’s released version is nothing compared to his beta versions. They just couldn’t balance it properly, so they deleted all the interesting mechanics, but made him free instead. And remember, he’s single target only, in modern HSR there are a lot of targets in EVERY fight.
And… sorry, but… Who’s in his team? You need to maintain three debuffs on the enemy, and the only unit able to do it without any problems is sw. Topaz is not as essential as SW, but you really want her in his team just because of her giant buff And if we’re talking about bonus attacks, you’d better save your jades, because Aventurine is coming to make this unit and his team even more “f2p friendly!”

          • Ratio’s best team is with 5 stars because Hoyo balanced 4* and 5* better in this game. There is still strong 4* like Tingyun or Pela.

But you can do MoC with Ratio without SW or Topaz, go Pela or Guinaifen + Tingyun and you are already good to go.

How was he before changes ? I didn’t looked at him in beta because not interested enough. I looked at his kit when we got him for free.

And yes you are right, MoC is nearly always about 2 ennemis, or a boss with summons, Destruction eats better than Hunt in MoC.

          • “BALANCED BETTER”?! Let me remind, in “that shitty genshin” there are some top-tier teams with one or even without five stars. In hsr even tingyun or Pela’s pickrate is falling, because their alternatives are too much better in some cases. And it’s a huge pain in ass to play Ratio without SW, I tried. That means that “free” unit is not so free.
But in most points I agree.
Ratio in his first version… Well, remember the last MoC where at the start of each turn you applied a ton of debuffs on the enemy? Well, this ton of small debuffs and crit boosts was the Ratio’s passive. He applied them afer dealing damage with certain chance. His kit was hard to understand, but interesting. Sounds much better than a single toss after every skill. If you’re interested, I think you can easily find the archives, I don’t remember properly anyways and can mistake in details.,

      • “Her normals are cool but unusable like always.”

That’s really become such a pain point anymore. Kirara, Lynette, Furina, Chiori: all recent sword users with fun looking normal attacks, one of which never has a reason to use them, and the other three need C6 to make those attacks do something besides look pretty.

      • At least, Chiori is the first REAL double-scaling character in the game, you can build her in def and share atk, for
example. her numbers are not as low as you think, and you can build her as a main dps. But I think the main reason she is here is to make double-geo in some comps meta again. Remember the times when ZL+Albedo was a good pick in almost every pack where you had two avaliable slots? Chiori is better here because she benefits from ATK. Or maybe you can go Chiori+Albedo to make tons of geo damage out of nowhere if this is not spoiling the comp’s concept. Any non-reaction dps can benefit from Chiori, and you can try something like *any independent driver*+gorou+chiori+albedo for a huge geo damage and the deiver can deal with geo shields. This game has a ton of combinations. Even Dehya can be useful in Lyney packs.
“hsr is more interesting than genshin”
        HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA. YOU’RE FUNNY.
Oh my god! TWO BUTTON PRESSING! THAT’S AN ESSENTIAL OF GAMEPLAY! CAN’T BE BETTER!
Serioisly, what are you talking about? HSR is ABSOLUTELY broken right now. Enormous balance problems are getting worse and worse with every character. every new character gives DRAMATICALLY more impact than most of previous. Because they are had to amuse players by something better than before. And… seriously? You’re saying the two buttons is more interesting than complicated ARPG battle system with reactions and a billion of strong and working builds (Instead of three or four best and a couple of cheaper ones.). And you’re saying you can destroy MOC with standart chars? After hundreds of tries (because you can be one-shotted with a blink of eye and you can’t control it) and with insane stats – well, maybe. But HAHAHAHAHA, look at the modern pure fiction. 50% DoT damage, DoT buffs, ideal conditions for BS. Abyss is LITERALLY MADE for the newest character. *sniff-sniff* smell of BALANCE, right? HSR just can’t give players anything than gameplay you get bored after a couple weeks, that’s because they are had to makefreaking broken characters to make an illusion of interesting gameplay. The fact that tge new support is twice more effective than previous don’t make you stronger as a player, it makes you a stupid money milking cow, because you’re getting used to it.

But of course you will not listen and will deny whatever point that goes against you/genshin, giving how ironic your comment is

          • Maybe something more than “all your takes are trash”?
            “HSR treats players better”
Oh, my favourite subject. When you people understand the fact tht HSR is much, MUCH, MUCH cheaper in development than genshin, and the donations have the same cost, that is why HYW are raising much more money from HSR than from genshin.
2.0 in genshin: HUGE NEW LOCATIONS WITH TON OF QUESTS AND NEW MECHANICS.
2.0 in HSR: 5 new corridors which you can run through and clean in a day and some new quests which are nightmarely boring to play (despite the only properly written) which you can finish in a day too.
New character in genshin: At least five or six new animations in a full 3d. Look how beautiful are animations in genshin even if you look at them not from the side you’re supposed to. Particles of Neuvilette’s CA you basically can’t see in combat, for example.
That’s not because HSR devs love you.
New character in HSR: two 3d animations (atk in world and technique) and three or four little cutscenes you use in the combat.
All that means they can lose a bit of money to encourage players for it. Outcome will be bigger anyways. Surprise, like any big company, Hoyoverse could never do anything for free. Keeping in sight the fact that HSR is REALLY hungry for your wallet.. ten more pulls change NOTHING.
And “my takes can be applied to genshin too”?
Where the freak in genshin you had seen a character like Ruan Mei, who gives almost every stat in the game, imbalanced 50 FREAKING PERCENT break efficency, break effect, insane 64% of damage TEAMWIDE, etc. Kazuha, you say? 40-50% of conditional elemental damage is his ONLY buff despite weapons and artifacts. Swirl is not so easy, you need setup for him, you need to use your burst properly, yo need TO PLAY THE GAME, NOT TO TAP A SINGLE BUTTON TO GIVE A HUGE LIST OF HUGE BUFFS.
And… Where is the abyss made for character? Well, they really are in genshin too. I agree, some abysses are really easier to play with new character, but! There had never been 50 FREAKING PERCENT OF CERTAIN DAMAGE TYPE! JUST FOR THE FACT YOU’RE PLAYING THIS MODE! 20-30 percent of buff was MAXIMUM. AND I’M NOT EVEN TALKING ABOUT OTHER BUFFS IN PURE FICTION!

          • Why are you complaining about Pure Fiction? Just throw in a bunch of Blast/AoE units with Rumor activated in one team, and DoT units with Libel in the other team. Or use AoE units + Rumor in both teams, they don’t even need to be geared, just leveled with some defensive stats. The mode’s hella newbie/f2p friendly.

          • You are telling me the game that made billion of $ need more fund to developing the game so they can’t afford to actually humor their playerbase, while a game that is much cheaper can but it doesn’t matter just because you think the gameplay is too boring and cheap for you ? My god …

Whether HSR devs love players or not, they know how to satisfy them and reel in more players, even if their spend less fund than Genshin, that doesn’t excuse Genshin from the lack of care for their own playerbase. The contents is a fair point, but is it really a good point to defend their lack of care to the players ? It doesn’t cost them anything to give out rewards like HSR, like you said 10 rolls means nothing than why won’t they give it out like HSR updates ?

Its being bigger and more quests doesn’t necessary make it better or more interesting, I think you can just look around as there are many games that are really big, yet some indie games could still manage to beat them in sale and positive reviews. Because even if the game is just ” 2 buttons smashing “, as long devs know how to delivery the gameplay and keep the player entertain, it is still gonna better than a big game that make you feel dissatisfied overtime ( Starfield I am looking at you )

I don’t get your last point, Genshin events have those exact ” 50 FREAKING PERCENT OF CERTAIN DAMAGE TYPE! JUST FOR THE FACT YOU’RE PLAYING THIS MODE! ” so why are you making it a problem in HSR ? Because PF is a pernament game mode ? You know that sounds pretty sad that it means Genshin still has no new permanent game mode after 3 years :/ ( unless you think TCG count as one then cool )

          • I forgot to address the Ruan Mei and Kazuha point because it was 1 am when I reply

From my perspective, they are both busted the same as each other, during their release time, your issue is that Kazuha need rotation and RM just stand there do nothing. While this is a fair point, but both games are still different which still lead back to your preferences of a game

You said Ruan Mei giving broken stats for just standing there, fair. But since you mention swirl, you should also think about how HSR does not have element reaction, weakness break itself at this point is lowkey an element reaction that is more limited than Genshin. So if you don’t have that same weakness dps against the enemies, RM doesn’t help much but remove the negative damage reduce from not having weakness. Kazuha also has been able to double swirl two element for reaction, effectively allow most of his good team to brute force any kind of enemies except the one that is immue to certain element. So they are technically the same in what they offer to the team, breaking through resistance and allow huge damage boost, while having Crowd control ability. Personally I think Kazuha was far more busted than RM if comparing to their actual release period

Plus why is Ruan Mei a problem to you ? Since your point is mostly stand there and really do nothing, shouldn’t Furina is an issue for you as well ? They have similar kit minus the crown control part. They just swap the frequency of their Sub dps and damage bonus, RM deal sub dps less but constant buff, Furina constant sub DPS but less constant buff without a healer. While RM has crown control and break efficiency, but get useless against no weakness just as how Furina burst get less useful without a healer.

I would argue Furina is hella more busted than RM being able to fill Sub DPS, Buffer, Reaction enabler ( Hydro is the most useful element ) and optional a healer, VS a buffer with less sub dps potential without E6 and crown control that only matter if weakness is present. Furina is probably not an imbalance issue for you just because there are Kazuha and Nahida around already, if she was releasing in 1.6 I bet people will praise her the most broken support that powercreep all others

Again to me, your issue is entirely gameplay preferences, and animation issue ? Fair tbh, I myself don’t really care about animation so I ain’t gonna bother, both get boring real quick so I wouldn’t consider it as an argument point, unless it is an actual combo animation like Devil May Cry

          • 1. They can afford more rewards, but they just don’t need it, because people will play genshin anyways, because he’s still the best gacha exist, no matter what they do, while it’s not a full bullshit, we’ll play it still. HSR is just not a serious game, just an analog of *RAID SHADOW LEGENDS!!!* (of course better and more balanced, but you got the point) for mobiles.

And you still don’t understand the point. Genshin devs are at least trying to keep the game healthy in terms of f2p balance and new content. And… Sorry, but who said Hsr is giving more primogems then Genshin? The patch with lunar new year now can be easily compared to hsr’s 2.0. You just need to play the freaking game, not to equip Topaz and run towards the nearby chest.

            “Indie games are often better”
That’s true, but in indie games the most important things are plot and some new game mechanics. Has HSR a good plot? Maybe. One funny joke every couple patches and good quests sometimes. But… Remember Ruan Mei’s quest? The whole lofu quest? I mean, they fail too sometimes. Genshin’s biggest mistake is a huge amount of text where you don’t need it at all, but… Genshin’s plot is globally more interesting! I mean, you know almost everything about HSR universe, who are aeons, what do they do, who are the groups, what do they do, what’s the MC’s target… and I have one question… What the freak is happening happening in Genshin? “sky is false”, teleports are constellations, abyss is leading somewhere, kaenriah gates in sumeru, skirk, celestia, etc. They build up so much intrigue about it so I have some theories, but nevermind.
And you can’t just say “Starfield” and everyone will agree. Modern big corporations are rotten to the core and rarely do something great (that’s why we’re playing some chinese cringe)

AYOOOO, MAN, YOU SAID THE POINT THAT ALL YOUTUBERS SAY! Yes, genshin don’t have a proper endgame content. But… do you really need it? You’re already getting a ton of content every couple patches. If you spend on Genshin the same ten minutes a day you spend on HSR, you’ll never finish even the location came out three weeks ago. Maybe that’s because GI is a game, not an auto-battle and roulette simulator? You’re installing a game and *spending money, if you’re desparate* on it to PLAY, not to run the whole version for 6 hours and spend six more on quests.
And… hahahahaha, read the abyss came out tomorrow. AGAIN, FREAKING 50 PERCENT, but not of dots, they’re of skills and normal attacks. That means hypercarries are taking their revenge, and bonus-attackers and doters are… well, still may be, but… the other ones will be JUST 50% EFFECTIVE. Good balance, now we all see it!
And… Try to complete the event going right now in Genshin. It’s not so easy. You’re had to pick the teams from the characters they give you and the choice is hard sometimes. but hey! Who needs this “skill”, when you can just press two buttons in a cycle, or, if you’re sure you’re much stronger, JUST ONE ” auto battle” button and go play something even easier.

          • I play both Genshin and HSR day1 and I can say that HSR is far much worse if they’re not giving much jades as they are..

In HSR every new content are power creep of what came before. here’s AoE preferred content ! here’s dot-preferred pure fiction ! here’s follow-up attack preferred battle event !! if you’re not pulling for meta 5* character you’re sealed not to get max reward. that’s not the case in Genshin since 4* national team still relevant in spiral abyss these days. HSR 4* just aren’t good enough to max stars any MoC or FP yet.

that lead to the point why HSR has to gives more jades than Genshin primos because if it were being cheap like genshin, f2p/monthly/battle pass player won’t be able to clear any new content. let alone max the reward. and people took it for granted knowing nothing and shit on Genshin.

Farming ascension mats in HSR is also a problem. while the game has 240 stamina (plus stock-able overflow) which more than Genshin 160, I still find it harder to max out single character (with signature lightcone if possible) as it took more days to (pre)farm than to max out single character in Genshin. this does not include relic/artifact though since both can be heaven or hell depends on player’s luck.

I don’t hate HSR or anything but man.. I felt more pressure and urge to pull for character FOR POWER more than “for waifu/husbando” in HSR when compare to Genshin. as it is very necessary to clear current and future content. I’m glad they giving much jades in HSR and made a room for f2p/monthly/battle pass player to breathe.. or else it’ll be just -Whale Only- game.

I’m regret not pulling Argenti/DHIL/Blade and focused more on waifu (at least Jingliu saved my arse shit tons of time) so now I’m struggle+tryhard to max out stars in AoE preferred MoC/FP and that also applied to current dot preferred FP since I don’t have Kafka.. my Blackswan is kinda meh because without Kafka (dot team foundation) overall dot damage are only depend on enemy taking turn.

imagine amount of free jade I’d lost from future aoe/dot preferred content until those two rerun again :/
yeah, paywall/powercreep is pretty high in here. but since they gives so much jades then it is what it is.

          • (reply to anon)
I’m tired of this. I’ll just say Kazuha on release was SOOOO broken that everyone was shouting he’s a 5* sucrose. And if we compare reacrions to break, Ruan is just decreasing the ICD by 33%. Kazuha’s pull, you say? Yes, it helps, but to make it work you need to be in a proper position, and this works only a few seconds. Let’s repeat, ALL hid buttons and buffs require conditions, Ruan’s buttons does not. She needs nothing but a proper build.
And I’m not even talking about the fact that c6 sucrose’s buffs are comparable to Kazuha’s, and even better if you need EM in priority. While RM’s only analog with her teamwide buff is Asta, with her unstable buff and other problems.
I’m tired of this anyways. I think I won’t reply anymore. Continue doomposting, man.

        • >At least, Chiori is the first REAL double-scaling character in the game

          Alhaitam? Nahida?

Also being double-scaling doesn’t make her groundbreaking or anything lol
It won’t help her much because geo is the worst element in game

          • Alhaitam and Nahida scale their passives from EM. They ALWAYS build EM no matter the situation. Chiori can build ATK with gorou and Def with atk share.
And looks like you didn’t read the rest of the comment. RN Itto mono geo is one of the most stable strategies almost always being in a tier. And Chiori+Albedo as an independent sub dd core can be really strong, just like XQ+Yelan.

      • Your take has been bad the moment you compared her to Keqing and Alhaitam, her skill is similar in animation and feel only but the character has absolutely nothing to do with either of them, you saying that only proves you’re taking shit at face value a second after seeing it and not stopping to think about what you saw, this is the problem this community has, think before doomposting

    • Doomposters are dumb but you overstate the meta-shifting in hsr
I’ve mained Blade since his release and he’s still great, Kafka is my other main and she’s currently one of the best DPSes, Jingliu has remained at the top in the several months since she released etc etc
In that game every character is strong so the standouts are the weak units
genshin generally releases fairly mediocre units so it’s the broken ones that stand out more

      • Let’s have a healthy discussion.
I don’t think you’re right. Blade is still not useless just because there are no any good wind breaker in the game. The worst thing about him is that if you play with Lynx, for example (not luocha or houhou), you still can be oneshot if you play unsafe, calculated unproperly or… game just told the creeps to focus him after you used passive or ultimate. And his scaling is just not as big as other modern DPSes. Overall, Blade had a great kit which fits “destruction concept” at least, but… If we won’t get a massive hp buffer, he’ll be dead when the next wind dps comes out, remember my words.
Kafka is still great, that’s true. But it’s just because of BS with her insane scaling dots. Overall, Kafka has a very simple kit and just enables other dots. She’ll be meta forever or at least untill they don’t add another all-type dot detonation.
Jinglu is just broken. This game had a ton of direct damage buffs and lacks of atk buffs, and Jinglu gives herself a whole ton of stats, it makes her a monster. But that doesn’t mean she’ll be meta forever. Yes, she can be meta for long (mostly because of the worst in terms of balance, gameplay, design and story character in the game, Ruan Mei), but once any any support with massive ATK buffs comes out, IL will become better than Jinglu. Or maybe he’ll become in a couple of weeks with another “balanced and fair” support named Sparkle.
And I don’t agree about the last point. “Every character” can’t be strong. Just because always finds a fish bigger. remember Yanqing? Yeah, he wasn’t meta even on release, because Seele already was better in single target in any case. But now the guy is so dead we won’t even talk about him. I can say what Argenti is stronger than Clara just because his damage source is more stable, even if he is weak (but still the strongest of the element). etc. any game has power ranks. And please, don’t say something like “modern MoC can be cleaned by standart characters”, because this is almost false. You need insane stats and insane luck to do it. And this is getting worse too. Imagine, how would you clean the PF without your premium kafka comp in the first half and broken Jinglu in the second? I’m not even mentioning the fact that BS cleans this a couple times faster than any other character.

      Lyney ? Good
      Neuvillette ? Busted
      Wriothesley ? Fine
      Furina ? Amazing
      Navia ? Great
Xianyun ? Very good with her A4 passive, good healer otherwise.
Arlecchino ? Will probably be busted as well

Even 4*, Lynette is OK, Freminet is OK, Charlotte is a good healer to work with Furina, Chevreuse is good and Kazuha replacement at C6, Gaming is very strong even C0…

What trolling are you talking about ???

Suddenly my primogems have become a political tool in a game that lacks endgame, even though I’m but one among millions of players worldwide. I diagnose you with terminalonlinitis.
Not to mention all the great characters that have come this patch, but one stupid decision and lo and behold, mihoyo is shit, doomers abound. It’s okay to criticize their nerfing (it was unnecessary) and the whalebaiting, just do it reasonably.

  4. In terms of comparing Chiori and Albedo, in addition to Chiori being more single target focused (I see people in the comments saying the AOE of the actual attack from the Sode is about the same size as a Hyperbloom explosion, which is quite small), apparently Chiori is NOT able to snapshot her elemental skill. This means that Chiori is unable to take advantage of buffs that only apply to the active character (Gorou’s Flat Defense buff from his skill and burst, and Bennett’s attack buff from his burst the main two) when she switches off field, while Albedo’s skill DOES snapshot (so his Skill retains any buffs when he goes off-field).

When combined with the change in her C2 and nerf to her burst damage, this makes Chiori seem less like a total power-creep and replacement for Albedo and more like a an alternative or side grade to him.

Basically, Albedo has superior AoE for large mobs (and a elemental mastery bonus to the team) while Chiori single target damage is superior for bosses and duos/trios of large enemies. Since the latter is more promiment in the Abyss than the former, my guess is that Chiori is still going to be the better pick for Geo focused teams, but not to the same extend that I had thought before.

Still wish Mihoyo made more changes to her kit to make more distinctive from Albedo. As it stands she still seems like the least creative playable character of the Fontaine cycle.

    • Coping so hard. Just admit that she totally powercrept Albedo. Albedo doesn’t provide much support to begin with and his skill could be destroyed unlike Chiori’s puppet, allowing for less field time just to be put back up to be destroyed again.

      • I stand by my statement in which Chiori is closer to being a side-grade to Albedo than a total power-creep. Being mostly single target, lacking the ability to snap-shot buffs for her skill, and a long skill cool down are notable downsides compared to Albedo. On the other hand, having higher raw damage (even without those external buffs), having automated damage (not requiring a party member to trigger additional damage), her skill being a construct that can be destroyed are all notable upsides.

As I stated, Spiral Abyss has gravitated more towards bosses and dual or trios of large enemies, that is going to make Chiori the better overall character, but it doesn’t invalidate the strengths that Albedo does have.

And of course, both characters are saddled with working best in mono-Geo teams.

Subject to change based on any additional beta changes made to Chiori and most crucially, her official release in 4.5 when everyone can try her out for themselves and really dig into how her kit works.

        • Other than what the guy said, I think you should also keep in mind that Albedo has to choose between having a strong skill or a strong burst. Picking burst means your skill is a meme, picking skill means your burst does low damage on top of having to refresh your geo construction every now and then as it gets destroyed, which wastes time. Chiori doesn’t have to worry about any of that. For me, in spite of her current flaws (no snapshot on skill and it doesn’t follow you (though that also depends on how big is her doll’s attack range), huge cooldown on skill, and that unnecessary nerf to her burst), picking Chiori over Albedo is obvious, you don’t even have to think much about it.

But Xianyun ? You don’t even have her, don’t spread bullshit !
I played her in several different teams and she did fine. Even Physical Rosaria with Lisa, Xianyun, Furina is enough to clear abyss. She is absolutely not tied to Xiao only, she enable a lot of characters. You wanna clear abyss with DPS Barbara ? Xianyun allows it.

Xianyun’s fourth most used team is with Neuvilette who doesn’t even use his buff but rather her healing to feel comfortable and get rid of Baizhu because some people don’t like it or want to flex him to another comp.

  9. They nerfed her burst damage up to 30% because they shifted her c4 -> c2. This is basically Hoyo telling you “if you want to reposition her dolls like Albedo, please pull c2” lololol.

Also after reading her c2 again, it looks like the jankiest version of c2 Yae. In order to “improve” her range, Chiori will summon an extra doll every 3 seconds for 10 seconds. It doesn’t tell if the dolls can still be summoned when Chiori is off-field.

Dunno why they can’t just reduce her E cooldown, or make the dolls move around with her like Furina’s gang instead. They are cooking this character so precise to make sure Chiori fan must pull her c2.

I feel bad for Chiori fans, they did you so dirty.

    • C2 dolls are different than normal ones, so it wouldn’t even reposition them.
They won’t reduce E cooldown, because it would make C6 less appealing .
I kinda like her kit (in theory, not the numbers, especially cooldown) and animations, but I think I like her weapon more and if they won’t buff her drastically, I will probably pull for the weapon first (hope it won’t get paired with some useless junk (at least for me)), as it’s decent for any DPS (not counting BiS), even without geo teammate.
But damn I would love to play her main DPS with that dual wielding, but I won’t participate single dollar to that disgusting cash grab.

She would be PERFECT as a 5* geo healer, but holy hell they made her a sub dps instead. Do Hoyo really think we don’t have enough geo dps?
