Hmm there seems to be a mistranslation here with “Before the flood, all Fontainians were Oceanids, physiologically speaking.”
In chinese it says “那場大洪水之前，楓丹人本質上都是純水精靈。” Before the Great Flood, the Fontainians were essentially pure water spirits.”, this is not only on chinese but also on other languages like japanese or spanish, while here it says “physiologically”, this can confuse that fontainians weren’t different from oceanids even in a biological way, which isn’t actually the case.. Sigewinne was refering here them being essentially oceanids (due to them not being purely/fully/truly human before, which cause them still have that oceanid essense) fontainians were still human before, they just lacked of real blood.
Unless she was refering to their unique constitution and/or their remains after being dissolved, which what the secret ingredient used for the posion and probably what Sigewinne was talking about.
