Character Details | "Since you're in Sumeru, you must not miss Nilou's performances." This is a fact that most people in Sumeru agree on. There is no threshold for Nilou's dances, so everyone can come and enjoy a most fascinating and engrossing time there. Nilou's audience comes from all walks of life. Be it a knowledgeable researcher or a mercenary who's seen true brutality — everyone is attracted here by Nilou's gorgeous, dancing form. Every time Nilou takes the stage, a press of people crowds the Grand Bazaar until all are standing shoulder to shoulder. Rational sense and wisdom are the mainstream in Sumeru, while art, which stands for sensibility, does not enjoy the same popularity and respect. Yet if wisdom is meaning bestowed upon Sumeru by the goddess, then art stands for meaning that human beings seek for themselves. |
Character Story 1 | Unlike other dancers across the continent who hail from artistic families, Nilou came from an ordinary family in Sumeru. The life that the family of three once lived was no different from that of many who lived in downtown area. The knowledge they gained from the Akasha was enough for their common day-to-day lives. If there was anything special about Nilou's family, it was that Nilou's parents' loved and cared for her very much. Although the pursuit of scholarship is prevalent in Sumeru, Nilou's parents never compared Nilou with other children, nor did they expect Nilou to become a researcher. Growing up happily and living a stable life was all that they wanted for her. Nilou thus grew up surrounded by love and respect. Later, even when there were differences of opinion and occasional arguments between her parents, Nilou's thoughtful and considerate mediation would permit no harm or grudge to ever linger in their family. * Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 2 |
Character Story 2 | Every inch of the Grand Bazaar has been measured by Nilou's footprints, and she keeps everyone at Grand Bazaar in her heart. Nilou can introduce anyone in the Grand Bazaar in detail, as if they were a family member. Mr. Jut usually gets up early to make tahchin, so if you want the privilege of having the most delicious bite of freshly cooked tahchin, be sure to get up early! Mr. Afshin's storytelling skills are simply divine. His wonderful ingenuity always makes people want to buy his merchandise. Mr. Hushang, who sells toys, has very dexterous hands. With them, he fashions the most fascinating little toys, and they are very popular amongst children. And, of course, everyone has long regarded this smart red-haired girl as a family member too. Every time Nilou goes grocery shopping, she always ends up carrying more items than on her purchase list just by making a single trip through the streets, and the weight of the groceries shows exactly how much people like and take care of Nilou. Of course, Nilou also takes care of them in return. Hushang and Farhad may have a quarrel over a bet, about as long as Nilou shows up, the two will surely be reconciled. If Afshin's Sumpter Beasts have stolen someone else's food, Nilou will come forward and help make amends. If you ask Nilou why she is so enthusiastic, she will answer with a smile: "Because family is supposed to help each other, hehe." For Nilou, her mom and dad are her small family, while everyone in the Grand Bazaar is her big family. * Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 3 |
Character Story 3 | Nilou remembers clearly that she met her teacher at the Sabzeruz Festival when she was eight years old. Back then, the Knight of Flowers gave her a lot of Yalda Candies, and so little Nilou passed by the Zubayr Theater with candies in both hands. The Sabzeruz Festival is a celebration that features dance, but before, only dance groups from abroad were invited to sing and dance at the festival — and on a temporary stage, to boot. Now that the Grand Bazaar finally had its own theater, excited people were flocking to the new stage. Little Nilou managed to squeeze through the crowd to the front of the stage and saw the teacher dance for the first time. Even though there were no flowers on the stage, at that moment, Nilou felt as if she was watching thousands upon thousands of flowers blooming all at once. The candies in her hands fell to the ground unnoticed, and she couldn't help but dance along. It was only when the dance had ended that little Nilou realized what she had done, and hurriedly apologized to the people around her who had made room. It was at this moment that her teacher also walked down from the stage in an elegant manner and helped her pick the Yalda Candies back up. She reached out her hand to little Nilou, and asked gracefully— "Would you like to join me for a future dance?" * Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 4 |
Character Story 4 | Although she has lived her entire life in Sumeru, the city of wisdom, Nilou has never shown any talent in the field of "knowledge." However, she always knows how to soothe the emotions of others in her own way. "This is probably a generous gift to me from Lesser Lord Kusanali." After learning to dance with her teacher, Nilou became deeply aware of the power of body language. Combining her talents and knowledge of body language, she created her very own form of "body movement therapy." For example, when Mr. Zubayr is angry, everyone in the theater would be walking on eggshells. But Nilou would keep a warm smile, drawing wonderful patterns one after another in the air with her arms and fingers. "Imagine that we are in the rainforest that has just rained, and that you are following me as we walk onward, saying hello to every animal that passes by, waving, leaving everything else behind..." Perhaps this may seem childish and funny to a bystander, but for those who are wrapped up in the moment, Nilou's gentle voice can cause the anger that clouds their minds to disappear before they even know it. What's even more amazing is that, according to Mr. Afshin, this body movement therapy has been trending recently — and it even works on his two stubborn Sumpter Beasts... * Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 5 |
Character Story 5 | Be it in day-to-day life or her performances on stage, Nilou has always maintained a simple attitude — To melt everyone's worries away and let comfort and ease waltz in. But when "trouble" comes to her, she is often distressed due to her inability to make the call. Tahchin sure is delicious, but Pita Pocket is also good, and I also saw someone holding a Potato Boat that seemed really yummy. Which one should I eat tonight? I've heard people talk about places outside Sumeru City... the pure white snowy mountain and windmills the size of giants... Should I also consider going out for a trip? Nilou can often find good reasons to go with any of the options she is considering, and so they are like Forest Tree Frogs sitting across from one another with bellies out, not one able to win the others over. But if there was a person who could make a decision at this time and tell her with confidence and calm: "Why not have half the amount of each and share them with me?" "And as for those places you have never been to, I have already set foot there. I can assure you that they are safe." ...Nilou would dismiss her hesitation in an instant and raise her arms in a dance-like graceful gesture of thanks, before indulging in the joy of having solved a great problem for a long time indeed. * Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 6 |
Letters from the Audience | Refusing to accept gifts on stage has been a long-standing rule in the Zubayr Theater. Sometimes, the audiences do still get too excited and may insist on giving various kinds of gifts to Nilou. That said, such givers will definitely receive a gift in return the very next day, along with a note that has been left at their doors... "Thank you for your kindness. If you would like to express your love for Nilou's dance, you may write a letter to the Zubayr Theater instead of sending gifts." And so it came to pass that like snow flakes dancing and falling in the air, letters filled with the audience members' passionate praise have been sent in batches and droves by the Dusk Birds to the theater's mailbox. During her free time when there are no shows or rehearsals, Nilou will read every letter carefully, share this joy with the other members of the Zubayr Theater, and then carefully preserve these letters. Every word and every expression of recognition and fondness in the letters is worth remembering and appreciating. As Nilou bettered her dancing skills, more and more people came to watch her dance, and in time, the letters have added up to quite the stack indeed. But if someone cracks a joke, saying that Nilou is the most valuable treasure in the Zubayr Theater, she will definitely shake her head with a sweet smile. "Our most valuable treasure is our audience's love, and it is all carefully stored in one mysterious box." * Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 4 |
Vision | Nilou has heard her teacher talk about the meaning of dance more than once. From her teacher's perspective, dance is born from human life and has belonged to everyone from the very beginning. "As a dancer, you should convey emotions on stage, and your audience's smiles are their response to the emotions conveyed in your dance." Nilou was well aware that she was nowhere near as good at thinking about the "meaning" behind things as Akademiya researchers. But still, she practiced diligently each day under the direction of her teacher and planned to continue following in her footsteps. When she finally first took the stage, she quickly became completely immersed in the performance, holding nothing back. She thought of the wind, the moon, the gentle sound of the rose blooming, the feeling of stroking the tail feathers of Dusk Birds, and a myriad of beautiful things that existed in this world. She wanted to display the beauty she perceived in her heart to the entire audience through her dance. Slowly, splashes of water ran together, converging into a lake on the stage. Like a Crystalfly dancing on a lake's surface, Nilou gently fluttered back and forth, and the lake-mirror rippled slightly in time to her steps. Like a water lily, her body swirled in the middle of that lake. Amazed at such pure and flawless beauty, the audience almost forgot to breathe. After the curtain fell, Nilou flopped down on the backstage chair and took deep breaths. Like dewdrops on a lotus leaf, a Hydro Vision had appeared at her waist. Nilou thought then that she had perhaps found the purpose of dance at last — "To become beauty, and then to convey the beauty and value of art." * Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 6 |

this is just my thoughts and if there are anything wrong, feel free to correct me.
imo she is pretty flexible as dps. she can be main dps in either mono hydro or vape team. she also might work as hydro applicator (although this still questionable).
first is mono hydro team. you can just play nilou with any hydro unit but someone like xingqiu or yelan are undeniably the best you could pair with. also, you will need vv anemo like kazuha or sucrose but kazuha might be better choice because he can buff hydro bonus too.
next is vape dps team. nilou can be made vape dps because her skill duration is long (10s) and unlike diluc, you can delay it. you need good pyro off-field applicator like xiangling. but for this team to work, you need to cast xiangling ult first to apply pyro and properly time nilou’s skill so that it can vape. at the end, you can use nilou’s ult to deal vape nuke dmg. anyway, xiangling might be replaceable with bennett and jean because those two also can apply good aoe pyro aura.
next is bloom team. first thing to note about this team, nilou’s a1 talent will grant all members an em buff and allow them to replace dendro core (dendro+hydro reaction) with better one called bountiful core. there is no restriction that said nilou need to be the one who do the reaction. so, as long as nilou is in the team, bountiful core will happen regardless who do the reaction.
in bloom team, nilou will be a sub dps who deal on-field hydro dmg with another good hydro applicator like xingqiu, yelan, kokomi or ayato. these two units will apply enough hydro to allow bloom to occur. next is dendro applicator. for this slot, you want to use unit who can do constant off-field aoe dendro but doesn’t apply dendro too fast. this is because this character will be the only one who wears full em and is fully responsible in doing bloom reaction.
still gonna ask about mono hydro with anemo, why not 1 anemo 2 hydro and 1 pyro/cryo?
how come a sub-dps its onfield? people in this forum like to twist concepts very hard, any sub-dps its supposed to be off-field dmg either reverse of forward reactions, thats why we make the distintion saying main dps and sub dps, after that its a support that brings survavility in any form or shape, and the utility word its used to encapsule all advance gameplay metaphores like CC, Buffing, debuff, def shred, applier, etc. many even pages like the lost in the limbo genshin gg page misunderstands the concepts and meaning of this words gez, genshin comunity its the only one that likes using their own individualistic mindsets for explenations
Some people twist everything on HI. It’s so hard to have a decent discussion with all the trolls, keyboard warriors, doomposters, and semi-illiterates, and general jerks spreading misinformation all the time.
A sub dps is a character that does a significant amount of dmg, but is not the one who does the majority of the team’s dmg.
For example, melt Ganyu with Ganyu, Xiangling, Bennett, Zhongli:
Ganyu – On-filed main dps (Does the most amount of dmg + the one you use on field)
Xiangling – Sub dps + pyro applicator (Does a lot of dmg, but not the most)
Bennett – Support (Buff + heal)
Zhongli – Support (Shield)
Or a Mono Geo Itto with Itto, Gorou, Albedo, Zhongli:
Itto – On-filed main dps (Does the most amount of dmg + the one you use on field)
Gorou – Support (Buff def)
Albedo – Sub dps (Does a lot of dmg, but not the main source of dmg)
Zhongli – Support (Shield)
However, a character does not need to be on field to do the most dmg in a team, thus being a main dps off-field
For example, a Tazer team with Sucrose, Fischl, Beidou, Xingqiu:
Sucrose – On-field dps/driver (The on you use on field)
Fischl – Sub dps + battery (Does a lot of dmg, but not the main source of dmg)
Beidou – Main dps (Does most of the dmg/Main source of dmg)
Xingqiu- Sub dps + Hydro applicator (Does a lot of dmg, but not the main source of dmg)
Or National with Childe, Kazuha, Xiangling, Bennett:
Childe – On-field dps/driver + hydro applicator (The one you use on field)
Kazuha – Support (VV + elem dmg buff)
Xiangling – Main dps (Does most of the dmg)
Bennett – Support (Buff + heal)
Or Morgana, with Mona, Ganyu, Venti, Diona:
Mona – Sub dps + Support + Hydro applicator (Does a lot of dmg, but not the main source of dmg, Buff using omen)
Ganyu – Off-field main dps (Does most of the dmg)
Venti – Support (VV + CC)
Diona – Support (Shield + heal)
***
What do you understand from the phrase “Main DPS”? Because it means that they are the main source of damage and contributes the most to the team’s dps (dmg per second). If a character contributes the majority of the team’s dmg, they are the main dps, whether they are on-field or off-field.
And also, you mentioned:
“people in this forum like to twist concepts very hard”
“genshin comunity its the only one that likes using their own individualistic mindsets for explenations”
But have you never wondered if you are the one that’s wrong? That you are the one who likes to use your own individualistic mindsets for explanations? Or just blindly follows the first explanation you see, gets convinced, and believe that all others are wrong?
And also:
“thats why we make the distintion saying main dps and sub dps”
We do make distintions. In fact, we make much more specific distinctions that’s not just simply “main/sub dps”. There are much more terms that specify a character’s role, and would tell you their role in a team almost immediately, if you were willing to look things up.
If a character does dmg off-field, why call it sub dps and not just off-field dps? Have you never thought of that?
Released too soon. With so little dendro character, it’s wayy too soon to be releasing a character based around dendro reactions.
original poster here. some things that i wrote previously have some wrong information. i forgot that all instances of nilou’s skill are considered as elemental skill. thus, she won’t work with xingqiu and yelan. similar case with beidou and raiden shogun.
thanks to some comment, it made me remember that freeze team exist. so yeah, freeze team is also a viable team for nilou.
wait. saw some leaks earlier and she does works with xingqiu.
They say she’s forced to run hydro + dendro comps only. Is that true? Because that sounds pretty restrictive.
only if u need her a1 talent or c2, no need to restrict her otherwise, currently follow that kind of team is meaningless since no good main dps dendro released yet and the only good about her c2 is there are not much dendro shred exist, in the future when they release good main dps dendro, she will be good since anemo cant swirl dendro
Yeah no. Both her passives are based on the bountiful cores. Her maximum potential is unused outside Hydro-Dendro comps.
her a1 talent is weak and her c2 for hydro only team weaker then a vv set, none of the 3 dendro existing is a good main dps, even if u roll her now, force her into hydro-dendro team wont make her shine
yes her 1st passive said it all.
The hell is with Honey ui on mobile I kept replying to random comments.
she have nice base damage, but she have no amplified to her self. she only amplified bloom reaction. is she still need crit then? since bloom not affected by crit. i guess no.
yet maybe her build will only EM and HP% mainstat only? who knows. she remembered me to kokomi who have same high base damage but kokomi sacrifice best amplified potential to healing wich its crit.
nilou still have crit windows but its not support her kit universally. i hope TC can find this big brain kit so player can know what to do with her.
Crit if you don’t plan on using bloom team
Full HP if bloom team, as it’ll amplify bloom reaction more. She’ll be applying permanent hydro with another hydro character. A full EM dendro will be the one to do the bloom reaction, since bloom benefits from EM, and that (even though it’s only 2 right now) the trend seems to suggest EM build for dendro characters who benefits from dendro reactions anyways (passive that convert EM into dmg).
看起來被動是作為水草專輔的,但是技能看起來沒必要?
So… how much HP can Nilou reach without her weapon and with her weapon ?
Is Jade Cutter decent for Nilou? Her 5* weapon looks ugly. Also I’m not a huge fan of weapon banner anyway
Yes, it will still be a great option if you want to go for maxing her bloom damage, as best you can.
If you want to ignore the bloom effect (which may be possible with her decent modifiers), it may actually be better.
You can opt to ignore crit entirely to focus on bloom (which can’t crit), in which case, build tons of HP and EM.
Or build her as you would Yelan: 30K-35K HP, Crit, ER, EM (The usual DPS stats, but still with high HP).
很期待妮露!
Her HP get get quite high, but you will have to ignore crit for the most part (if you are trying to maximize bloom).
I calculated 50K HP (could still go higher), this requires:
Base HP (Lvl 90) – 15.185K
HP Circlet – 7076.21
HP Goblet – 7076.21
2 Piece Tenacity – 3037.00
Hydro Resonance – 3796.25
Substats – 9520.99 ( 60 HP%, 3 artifacts with rolls of 20.9 on HP%)
Ascensions – 4373.28
[Total = ~50.06K]
*Note: I forgot to calculate the boost to base HP from the flower main stat, so it would be slightly higher*
someone pls do calculate what her artifact comp. is it full HP with some EM? or use Crit?
her ascension and BiS just add HP also her passive only buff bloom.
in onther hand her base damage is quite high, using crit for it just can be so good.
BUT as we know that bloom cant do crit so it just not versitale her kit universally.
my question is, do full HP build can out damage or at least similar damage to crit built?
seems many people have jade cutter but atk convert just meh. also HP% weapon just really hard.
fastering desire really good for her since the infusion count as skill damage, also sacrifical sword maybe can make her have best uptime.
I am not sure if the weapon substat will be part of the base. What I know in the atk will be part of the based stat
So, do I read this correctly that all her normal attacks and her burst will be considered elemental skill dmg after using her skill?
Yes ! So Heart of Depth is useless on her
high chance she will have her own set but currently, if u not build em, 2 depth 2 tenacity is the only option for her
Only normal attacks
i really didn’t get if she will be some sorte of main dps like ayato or sub dps/support like yelan, even when i watched her gameplay
She will be like an sub dps like Albedo
was this sarcasm?
That or either trolling or outright ignorance.
I want her! Loved the commentary said that she will be a “Shenhe”, since being a premier niche character. Anyone have an idea of what artifacts to use on her?
gilded dreams if you seek to make dmg with her, just mind you that you must not put another hydro character on the team for the EM bonus from the set that way you can either run a vape (mainly) and a bloom team, that or a 2-pc Depth 2-pc TotM, but im sure the em bonus will work better than just a 15% hydro dmg bonus and a 20% hp bonus, with the dreams set your getting 230 EM
If any of you think that her best team isn’t mono hydro, then I’ve got a bad news for you. Her best team is mono hydro.
Yes, her passives are completely worthless. But she have perfect on-field driver duration and cooldown for mono hydro team (xinqiu-yelan-nilou-anemo) with not too shabby DPS. Way better than kkomi’s DPS of course, and nilou also have AoE. She unfortunately won’t be good in national team cause her hydro application sucks, but considering how disgustingly strong xinqiu-yelan pairing is, nilou’s perfect duration and cooldown made her the perfect driver for that duo, and that team will be competitive with national team variants. Will definitely better than tazer team variant of course, especially with kazuha.
For once I won’t shit on a character with completely useless passives and sucks hydro application, because she at least have a good duration, cooldown, and elemental alignment with the strong duo of xinqiu-yelan.
But for real, her passives are completely worthless for various reasons. Do you actually belief that those bloom seeds would be better than increasing team DPS by over 50% with kazuha? I think not. With full EM lv90 dendro character on xinqiu-yelan-nilou, it’s true that you can guarantee bloom trigger from your dendro off-field, but every single dendro character available right now have pathetic dendro application, meaning low dendro core count. Even though they could do 25k+ dendro bloom explosion damage per core, even 5 of those cores wouldn’t compare to increasing xinqiu-yelan-nilou DPS by over 50%. F2P xinqiu-yelan can easily do 500k total single target damage per rotation by themselves, with nilou probably adding another 250k but AoE on-field damage. You need off-field dendro character that can proc more than 15 dendro application per rotation to out-dps a kazuha buff on this team, and that’s not going to happen, ever. Current off-field dendro characters can only proc once per 3s, 15 procs in 15s will never ever be a reality.
Might as well use Ayato or Childe for that team, though she wouldn’t be bad. Her prospects for bloom aren’t that great right now, you are right. With Kokomi or Barbara as the second hydro for heals, she needs really good dendro application to get enough bloom reactions, something I doubt Collei and Traveler can provide even together. I think she will shine with the archon, but she’ll just be kinda average or maybe Ayato level before that. Not bad but not that good. I really do think she’ll be top tier if the archon is a good off-field dendro applicator, which I think she will be. Even better if she heals on top of that, so Kokomi can be replaced with someone else, maybe Candace or Yelan/XQ for damage.
Ayato have atrocious duration and cooldown alignment for that team. Childe’s cooldown will be too long if you follow that team’s duration, and he already have international team anyways due to his incredible hydro application, and his DPS is lower than nilou in mono hydro cause he can’t do forward vape burst in mono hydro.
Nilou have just the nice balance between DPS-duration-cooldown to align well with xinqiu-yelan, which while I do wish it could get better, I doubt it would, knowing how keen mhy with nerfing instead of buffing. They’ve done way more nerves than buff in this game that it’s unrealistic to expect her to get a buff in any way shape or form. But still, assuming they don’t nerf her, she’d be a decent alternative to sucrose as xinqiu-yelan driver. While sucrose drive the duo as tazer team, nilou would drive the duo in mono hydro. TBH, I still think sucrose would do it better tho… her soup reaction is just too damn good, and even on single target her swirls are massive, especially considering that she’s ranged catalyst user which make attacking with her so damn comfortable even for the ruin serpent or flying enemies that goes all over the places.
she easily can get 180+100 EM ALONE just from R1 weapon with easy 50k hp (especially with hydro resonance. she has higher Hp base than yelan, a fucking wpn with 66+20& hp) and aside from the bonus dmg the blooms gets from the Em, with 50k hp the blooms deals 160% bonus damage, you think they will deal only 25k?
the c2 basically makes you get rid of a venerener user.
Nilou + Yelan + Dendro + flex Is what you gonna play.
y’all act always like Hoyoverse don’t know what they are doing with a character’s kit just because you can’t get it, look at KUKi dealing fucking 30k PER HYPERBLOOM AND SHOOTING FIVE OF THEM and healing 4K per TICK at c2, because that’s what they had in mind yet everyone shitting on kuki because it’s impossibile for this community to see what’s the whole picture’s gonna be.
y’all just know how to play characters in the same old fucking comp unless it comes out another youtuber screaming BROKEN and then you go screaming BROKEN.
it’s literally not that hard to get how Nilou should be played.
Oh look, an avid hoyoverse whiteknight trying to defend hoyoverse out of context lmao.
Kiddo, nobody even try to attack hoyoverse here. Either you’re trolling, or you’re an actual filthy corporate whiteknight that deserve to be shamed.
“y’all just know how to play characters in the same old fucking comp”
Then tell us EXACTLY how will she fares in bloom team? Tell us, which dendro character would be the dendro aura? I suspect you’re not talking about hydro being the aura, considering how you mention nilou’s EM stats there.
Tell us, o’ forward minded genius who’ve thoroughly thought about it to defend hoyoverse, how exactly will that team perform? Or are you just pulling things out of your arse? Enlighten us.
“Tell us, which dendro character would be the dendro aura?”
Nahida. You pull Nilou, then you will be forced to pull Nahida, draining your primos. MHY wins either way. They know what they are doing.
Nahida is the Dendro Archon – people would pull for her even if Nilou didn’t exist. Archons tend to be rather flexible.
Nobody’s “forced” to do anything. We can use our own brains and do what’s best for ourselves.
Nilou had everything to be the dendro Albedo except the fact that her blooms push away the enemies and there will be no source of crowd control in her teams. Even if Al Haytham and Nahida are great, just the fact that she spreads the enemies drives her completely off the meta.
Honestly, either her skill description is just badly written or her skill has been nerfed. From what I saw from leaked videos, you can spam her skill with NA as much as you want within a certain period of time. It will only ended early if you decided to use her skill again during her skill 3rd attack pattern. Tell me if I am wrong though since this is just purely from my observation from those said videos.
how come xinqiu-yelan-nilou-anemo is mono hydro? or are u just ignore her c2?
Dude, you’re damn right. It’s still transformative reactions and dendro is really good at that, but not enough to compete with vape/melt or elemental swirl. The character is bound hand and foot with a bloom reaction and one team. I still think it’s just another character being tested.
Just sharing some thoughts here. I’m not a TCer. I enjoy a mix of both meta and off-meta characters.
I don’t mind Nilou’s niche (or rather, most optimal), Bloom-dependent playstyle.
In terms of meta, we already have solid teams available that steamroll through any Abyss rotation, with National as one the most accessible and F2P-friendly options. I find it boring to just keep slotting units into the same types of teams/tropes for the Abyss all the time. And powercreeping such teams wouldn’t be healthy for the game.
Also, more flexible units still get compared to existing ones – and they’ve been heavily criticized for not being outright better or just “do the same thing” as pre-existing characters. (Like Yelan and Ayato). Wouldn’t people just compare Nilou to the other Hydro units anyway and have a bunch of reasons for why she’s not meta? I think having a variety of both flexible and specialized characters on the roster isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
Totally agree. I’ve had units and teams that i’ve been using to clear abyss since forever (specifically morganya since i got ayaka + hutao double hydro thoma; always fully cleared till 11th floor btw)
I love Nilou cause of her aesthetics, and i just used my guarantee to get Tighnari. I’m not pulling for her cause i lack hydro units, these recent patches got me pulling for hydro chars nonstop now. Ayato Yelan 2 dendro comp arguably able to do the same thing
Nilou (might) do, still, i’ll pull for her.
So by saying all this i mean: i agree with you. Like not every new character has to be meta, they can have their own niche that’ll make them shine. And for abyss: you can totally clear it perfectly with just 4 stars chars and weapons, just with careful executions and studying guides on ytb. And for your favs, you can still roll for them to explore the open world. Like they dont necessarily have to do well in abyss, to deem themselves “enough” to you.
That’s is the thing: she is too niche
“I enjoy a mix of both meta and off-meta characters.”
No offense but you sound hella childish saying that, it’s like you think TC and meta players play for meta characters and no one else, which is not true and this leads to this stereotype of meta players not allowing any non-meta main to speak about power level which is also not true, call those trolls “meta slaves”
Back to the main topic, Nilou doesn’t make new fun teams that people can enjoy instead of doing the same Freeze/Vape/Taser comps(even though anyone who TC would tell you that those teams arent the only good team in abyss, Mono Cyro, Geo already exist, people just don’t simply don’t want to use them cause they like doing a alot of dmg ), Dendro make new fun teams.
Alot of people who play thos game are F2P and they dont enough wishes to get a 5 star chacter for every niche in the game, Nilou only working in bloom comps with 2 hydro 2 dendro makes her have the same issues as Itto, who can not be played that well without Gouro and Alebdeo: This limits your teams and thus creativity that units like Raiden, XQ and Kazaha are very famous and popular for.
I do agree that we need more specialized units and a balance between them and flexible units, but this logic IMO should only be applied to 4-star supports not 5-star enablers.
And lastly, being compared to other units is not a bad thing, but trolls and very, Very defensive simps like to make it seem this way. The website has a very bad echo chamber in it man…
Where is this meta vs. non-meta argument coming from? I was only stating how I play the game to give context for my views. Noting more. It had nothing to do with who can say what.
Making assumptions, picking apart my post, and jumping to conclusions is childish.
Why do people insist on being confrontational about every little thing here? lol
Calling someone childish just bc he calls you childish is sooo childish. Grow up buddy.
What does that have to do with Nilou? Quit derailing the discussion with personal attacks, dude.
