Character Details | "Since you're in Sumeru, you must not miss Nilou's performances." This is a fact that most people in Sumeru agree on. There is no threshold for Nilou's dances, so everyone can come and enjoy a most fascinating and engrossing time there. Nilou's audience comes from all walks of life. Be it a knowledgeable researcher or a mercenary who's seen true brutality — everyone is attracted here by Nilou's gorgeous, dancing form. Every time Nilou takes the stage, a press of people crowds the Grand Bazaar until all are standing shoulder to shoulder. Rational sense and wisdom are the mainstream in Sumeru, while art, which stands for sensibility, does not enjoy the same popularity and respect. Yet if wisdom is meaning bestowed upon Sumeru by the goddess, then art stands for meaning that human beings seek for themselves. |
Character Story 1 | Unlike other dancers across the continent who hail from artistic families, Nilou came from an ordinary family in Sumeru. The life that the family of three once lived was no different from that of many who lived in downtown area. The knowledge they gained from the Akasha was enough for their common day-to-day lives. If there was anything special about Nilou's family, it was that Nilou's parents' loved and cared for her very much. Although the pursuit of scholarship is prevalent in Sumeru, Nilou's parents never compared Nilou with other children, nor did they expect Nilou to become a researcher. Growing up happily and living a stable life was all that they wanted for her. Nilou thus grew up surrounded by love and respect. Later, even when there were differences of opinion and occasional arguments between her parents, Nilou's thoughtful and considerate mediation would permit no harm or grudge to ever linger in their family. * Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 2 |
Character Story 2 | Every inch of the Grand Bazaar has been measured by Nilou's footprints, and she keeps everyone at Grand Bazaar in her heart. Nilou can introduce anyone in the Grand Bazaar in detail, as if they were a family member. Mr. Jut usually gets up early to make tahchin, so if you want the privilege of having the most delicious bite of freshly cooked tahchin, be sure to get up early! Mr. Afshin's storytelling skills are simply divine. His wonderful ingenuity always makes people want to buy his merchandise. Mr. Hushang, who sells toys, has very dexterous hands. With them, he fashions the most fascinating little toys, and they are very popular amongst children. And, of course, everyone has long regarded this smart red-haired girl as a family member too. Every time Nilou goes grocery shopping, she always ends up carrying more items than on her purchase list just by making a single trip through the streets, and the weight of the groceries shows exactly how much people like and take care of Nilou. Of course, Nilou also takes care of them in return. Hushang and Farhad may have a quarrel over a bet, about as long as Nilou shows up, the two will surely be reconciled. If Afshin's Sumpter Beasts have stolen someone else's food, Nilou will come forward and help make amends. If you ask Nilou why she is so enthusiastic, she will answer with a smile: "Because family is supposed to help each other, hehe." For Nilou, her mom and dad are her small family, while everyone in the Grand Bazaar is her big family. * Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 3 |
Character Story 3 | Nilou remembers clearly that she met her teacher at the Sabzeruz Festival when she was eight years old. Back then, the Knight of Flowers gave her a lot of Yalda Candies, and so little Nilou passed by the Zubayr Theater with candies in both hands. The Sabzeruz Festival is a celebration that features dance, but before, only dance groups from abroad were invited to sing and dance at the festival — and on a temporary stage, to boot. Now that the Grand Bazaar finally had its own theater, excited people were flocking to the new stage. Little Nilou managed to squeeze through the crowd to the front of the stage and saw the teacher dance for the first time. Even though there were no flowers on the stage, at that moment, Nilou felt as if she was watching thousands upon thousands of flowers blooming all at once. The candies in her hands fell to the ground unnoticed, and she couldn't help but dance along. It was only when the dance had ended that little Nilou realized what she had done, and hurriedly apologized to the people around her who had made room. It was at this moment that her teacher also walked down from the stage in an elegant manner and helped her pick the Yalda Candies back up. She reached out her hand to little Nilou, and asked gracefully— "Would you like to join me for a future dance?" * Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 4 |
Character Story 4 | Although she has lived her entire life in Sumeru, the city of wisdom, Nilou has never shown any talent in the field of "knowledge." However, she always knows how to soothe the emotions of others in her own way. "This is probably a generous gift to me from Lesser Lord Kusanali." After learning to dance with her teacher, Nilou became deeply aware of the power of body language. Combining her talents and knowledge of body language, she created her very own form of "body movement therapy." For example, when Mr. Zubayr is angry, everyone in the theater would be walking on eggshells. But Nilou would keep a warm smile, drawing wonderful patterns one after another in the air with her arms and fingers. "Imagine that we are in the rainforest that has just rained, and that you are following me as we walk onward, saying hello to every animal that passes by, waving, leaving everything else behind..." Perhaps this may seem childish and funny to a bystander, but for those who are wrapped up in the moment, Nilou's gentle voice can cause the anger that clouds their minds to disappear before they even know it. What's even more amazing is that, according to Mr. Afshin, this body movement therapy has been trending recently — and it even works on his two stubborn Sumpter Beasts... * Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 5 |
Character Story 5 | Be it in day-to-day life or her performances on stage, Nilou has always maintained a simple attitude — To melt everyone's worries away and let comfort and ease waltz in. But when "trouble" comes to her, she is often distressed due to her inability to make the call. Tahchin sure is delicious, but Pita Pocket is also good, and I also saw someone holding a Potato Boat that seemed really yummy. Which one should I eat tonight? I've heard people talk about places outside Sumeru City... the pure white snowy mountain and windmills the size of giants... Should I also consider going out for a trip? Nilou can often find good reasons to go with any of the options she is considering, and so they are like Forest Tree Frogs sitting across from one another with bellies out, not one able to win the others over. But if there was a person who could make a decision at this time and tell her with confidence and calm: "Why not have half the amount of each and share them with me?" "And as for those places you have never been to, I have already set foot there. I can assure you that they are safe." ...Nilou would dismiss her hesitation in an instant and raise her arms in a dance-like graceful gesture of thanks, before indulging in the joy of having solved a great problem for a long time indeed. * Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 6 |
Letters from the Audience | Refusing to accept gifts on stage has been a long-standing rule in the Zubayr Theater. Sometimes, the audiences do still get too excited and may insist on giving various kinds of gifts to Nilou. That said, such givers will definitely receive a gift in return the very next day, along with a note that has been left at their doors... "Thank you for your kindness. If you would like to express your love for Nilou's dance, you may write a letter to the Zubayr Theater instead of sending gifts." And so it came to pass that like snow flakes dancing and falling in the air, letters filled with the audience members' passionate praise have been sent in batches and droves by the Dusk Birds to the theater's mailbox. During her free time when there are no shows or rehearsals, Nilou will read every letter carefully, share this joy with the other members of the Zubayr Theater, and then carefully preserve these letters. Every word and every expression of recognition and fondness in the letters is worth remembering and appreciating. As Nilou bettered her dancing skills, more and more people came to watch her dance, and in time, the letters have added up to quite the stack indeed. But if someone cracks a joke, saying that Nilou is the most valuable treasure in the Zubayr Theater, she will definitely shake her head with a sweet smile. "Our most valuable treasure is our audience's love, and it is all carefully stored in one mysterious box." * Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 4 |
Vision | Nilou has heard her teacher talk about the meaning of dance more than once. From her teacher's perspective, dance is born from human life and has belonged to everyone from the very beginning. "As a dancer, you should convey emotions on stage, and your audience's smiles are their response to the emotions conveyed in your dance." Nilou was well aware that she was nowhere near as good at thinking about the "meaning" behind things as Akademiya researchers. But still, she practiced diligently each day under the direction of her teacher and planned to continue following in her footsteps. When she finally first took the stage, she quickly became completely immersed in the performance, holding nothing back. She thought of the wind, the moon, the gentle sound of the rose blooming, the feeling of stroking the tail feathers of Dusk Birds, and a myriad of beautiful things that existed in this world. She wanted to display the beauty she perceived in her heart to the entire audience through her dance. Slowly, splashes of water ran together, converging into a lake on the stage. Like a Crystalfly dancing on a lake's surface, Nilou gently fluttered back and forth, and the lake-mirror rippled slightly in time to her steps. Like a water lily, her body swirled in the middle of that lake. Amazed at such pure and flawless beauty, the audience almost forgot to breathe. After the curtain fell, Nilou flopped down on the backstage chair and took deep breaths. Like dewdrops on a lotus leaf, a Hydro Vision had appeared at her waist. Nilou thought then that she had perhaps found the purpose of dance at last — "To become beauty, and then to convey the beauty and value of art." * Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 6 |

So I got Nilou, but fail to get her weapon 🙁 What’s her best 4* options?
Since key and jade cutter are the only swords that give HP, just using iron sting or the umbrella sword will be your best bet F2P. Or if your team needs energy fav is always good.
It’s unfair to see mains of powercrept units like Hutao or Ayaka be allowed to reroll on Nilou, when they didn’t the first time. True Nilou mains got her back in the day when trolls were calling her “niche”. Only TRUE Nilou mains should enjoy the only meta 5* of Sumeru.
Tell Hoyoverse to remove the new Nilou banner, don’t let the meta bandwagon crowd all reroll to Nilou.
Plot twist: he actually tells everyone to not pull for Nilou and save for upcoming better hydro char aka Focalor
Pretty girl! Had to skip her for Nahida but I hope I can get her on April 12 o3o
Alhaitam for single target
Nilou for multiple target
thoughts?
whats this for? if you are thinking using Alhaitham with Nilou.
You better use Nahida instead of him, I found more success using Nahida as the driver with Xingqiu.
Alhaitham Hyperbloom/Spread comps works fantastic against tons of mobs too but not as broken as Nilou.
Nilou is quite underestimated against bosses. She absolutely murder everyone that isnt immune or resist to dendro.
I’m gonna say it, I’m a Nilou intusiast. I got her C0R1.
If you want to check out my build, there you go:
https://enka.network/u/603154867/
She reaches 69k HP with hydro resonance.
I’m still trying to learn how to play her but I think I’m dumb. Also her blooms are doing 27k damage each.
And yet, last abyss I couldn’t kill wenut in time, I got 35 stars and in this one I got 35 stars as well.
Idk if it’s me that don’t know how to play, if it’s my characters that are not C6R5, or if it’s wenut problem that stays underground for 30 seconds.
It’s Nilou’s bad DPS. Hyperbloom can be played with 4 stars and do 30k or more per seed, and home in on the enemies. Bloom with no CC cuz of trash Nilou team restrictions means you miss often and lose every time. Sorry you wasted your primos but I’d advise not to waste even more to make her weak comps work. Bench her and move on to better characters.
Its Wenut. Nilou’s counter.
If you play her with Xingqiu/Yelan + Nahida as driver. I suggest focusing on building tons of EM on both Nahida and Xingqiu. Plus try to find shit loads of HP or EM substats on Nilou. Your build is trying so hard to make Nilou do individual DPS. I only use her Water Ring rather than her DPS.
https://enka.network/u/612078709/
check my build if you are curious or DM me on Discord if you want for more details.
While you can technically still 3 star wenut with the most F2P Nilou team (Nilou c0/Barbara/Collei/DMC using Dark Iron Sword), generally pure Dendro damage is bad against him bc of 55% perma dendro res. I’d say just use an aggravate team for the 2nd phase this time just to make it a lot easier. I got +1m17s just using aggra Keq on average artis.
Next Abyss I believe you can blindly play her team as it is 3 Kinkies again.
Currently, this may be the worst abyss phase for her? (The frost shield monstrosity isn’t here yet)
But can still manage to 36 star, albeit with a bit of sweat involved.
For Wenut it’ll be hard to use conventional Nilou team, you’ll need to tweak your team for more single target focused. Thankfully the first 2 chambers aren’t that hard and you’ll have similar clear time using the single target variant of Nilou’s team.
The team I used was Nilou/Nahida/Xingqiu/Yaoyao, and it was really easy after looking up some videos on when to do burst and apply skills.
As you start the fight, use Nahida’s burst followed by Nilou’s dance, if wenut comes out to shoot anemo bullets, run after it with Xingqiu and use burst and skill to get some energy, if wenut comes out below you, you’ll have time to apply Nahida’s skill and a few normal attacks for some damage.
After it goes underground, it’ll come out somewhere near you so don’t move and put down Yuegui with Yaoyao and switch to Nahida to spam skill and normal attack with Xingqiu’s burst.
Next the worm will appear at the end of the room furthest away from you. Turn your camera and start dashing as soon as you see the worm comes out. Apply Nahida’s skill and Nilou’s dance. Use Xingqiu’s burst and skill to get some energy back.
Again wenut will appear near you so don’t move and place down Yuegui with Yaoyao, and switch to Nahida again to apply skill ONCE (important or else you’ll be in cooldown next time) and spam normal attack with Xingqui’s burst.
Wenut will then start flying. Use Nahida’s burst and take a picture of the worm, then switch to Nilou and use her burst at the worm’s lowest point to knock it down. Then go ham with Xinqiu skill and burst -> Nahida skill -> Yaoyao skill, burst, and normal attack until there is only 1 Yuegui left, and back Nahida to spam skill and normal attacks.
Once it’s half way into the ground, switch Nilou to dance and use Xingqiu’s burst and skill and repeat.
Xingqiu’s recharge is crucial, and so is Nilou’s if you need to bring wenut down twice. Mine is 227% for Xingqiu and 140% for Nilou. There are probably more optimal ways, but this is the rotation I did and it’s been working really well. My clear time for the first few runs was 110s – 120s, and now it’s around 85s – 100s.
I skipped her before and I’m gonna skip her again. She does more damage to your own team than the enemies.
So 5% is more than 100%. I’m happy to learn math with you =3
0% damage when you’re team is dead
Skill issue
Exactly. It’s an issue with her skills. Nilou is very mediocre. I’m glad even someone like you (low IQ) can see this. Bloom is self kill comp and Nilou restricts you to 2 elements if you want to play her “optimally”. Easy skip if you ask me.
If you die, then you don’t know how to build/play your healers. I do abyss with Proto Amber Nahida and I don’t die. It’s not Nilou’s fault if you are bad.
I know right, all these people need to stop coping with “Nilou is good”. I got her cause she’s so bad and I wanted a real challenge at the game. I’m not those lame meta slaves with their skill-less hyperbloom teams carrying their skill-less-ness to make themselves feel better. I have to use terrible artifacts, level 1 talents and a dull blade with a terrible character, but despite all that, I can full star abyss with no issues with all those handicaps and a bottom tier character, all thanks to my amazing skills that those noob hyperbloom players can never achieve.
He commented one on my girl’s page too. Time for the 2 fandoms to unite to teach him a lesson ?
Even if Nilou is an easy skip she is still a better pull than Ayaka.
I’m sorry for you, it should be hard for you to have fun in the game if all cool units are easy skip for you é_è
What you think of team Baizhu,Nahida,Nilou,Xinqiu/Yelan team?
I think it’s good with Xinqiu, and using Nahida as on-fielder. So Baizhu shield/buffs is going to Nahida and she will be the one generating the bloom seeds.
You might need Nilou C1 for more consistent hydro application, and maybe do not spam Nahida autos, the enemy will always to have hydro on the top of his head, so then the dendro (Nahida) will be generating the bloom seeds.
Is she that good? I know she is very good, but I already have a good set of characters. I often play with my friend in coop and our 2 hyperbloom teams are:
1. Nahida, Kokomi, Raiden + whatever we feel like (Alhaitam/Yelan/Zhongli)
2. Nahida, Kokomi, Nilou + whatever we feel like (Alhaitam/Yelan/Zhongli)
Nahida, Raiden and Alhaitam we play are C2. Everyone else C0. Alhaitam is rarely used in these comps as I much prefer him in Dendro/Electro only teams.
Tbh I feel no difference in clear times. Is there any situation where team 2 clearly outshines team 1? I love her visuals, so I might pull anyway though :X
why playing her in a hyperbloom team anyways? she does nothing yelan and ayato could do better. she is intended to be played in a bloom team not hyperbloom team.
bloom nilou is indeed strong. with a lot em her bountiful cores do slightly less dmg than hyperblooms but you also get more blooms and a lot more aoe.
slightly lower dmg numbers (not dmg)
I’ll repeat my tests then! Thanks. Will probably roll for her anyway because she’s so cute.
First time I didnt roll (even after I prefarmed 😡 ) as I was upset about team limitations and didnt have any dendro units I liked. Now with Nahida I can roll ^^
“ Hoyo: seeing nilou is a T0 tier char and lots of people regret skipping her like kazuha case
Also hoyo: how about rerunning this char in patch 6.9”
It is suck that she would get a rerun in 3.6 (90% chance). I want regretted skippers to suffer more. Hopefully there is a plot twist (Eula is screaming)
If u think this is a troll then … just say it. I’m overthinking about Ayaka rerun so bad that I lose all of my self control now ?
Great. Kazuha gate keepers are one of the worst things in Genshin community, and now we will have Nilou gate keepers too.
I skipped Kazuha back then bcz of my girl and shortage of primos (when her banner dropped I only had like 8k primos and still got her). I pulled for him later bcz of “everything for Ayaka ❤️”
I skipped Nilou back in the days for Nahida but I saved primos to dump onto her banner. It’s literally the same situation. Double standards much??
lol, i skipped kazu twice and advised my friend to get him when he 1st came out cuz everyone knew he was good back then; i want kazu but dont need him. nilou is such an unnecessary char cuz you can just play hyperbloom with venti or kazu CC or whoever else, no regrets needed with nilou and her bellybuttonless dollar general brand kokomi design.
The fact Nilou doesn’t need anemo CC to destroy content hurts a lot, I know.
you mean the same thing with hyberbloom that can still run the CC or a eula cuz thats the joke? ye i know, it does hurt a lot.
Hyperbloom as such a wide AoE that can covert all Teyvat, you are right, nothing to compare with Nilou’s bloom team =O
cope. thats exactly the point. even with such properties it still. hence why nilou is unnecessary cuz why limit your team when you can bring cc or, now listen closely cuz i know your literacy is weak, OR UNIT YOU WANT. with the exception of pyro unless their pyro is just a facade. also, its not like the hb only seeks the 1/999 mobs anyways wasting the dmg limit and you produce tons so it doesn’t matter.
“nilou is unnecessary” => At this point, no character is a absolute need, you can do the game without Yelan, Nahida, Raiden, Zhongli, Hutao, etc…
If you wanna play HB, go, it’s a fun playstyle. If you wanna play different teams, Nilou is one of them. Point is she add a unique playstyle that is, now listen closely cuz i know your literacy is weak, better than HB in every AoE scenarios. Yes, I know, you have some difficulties to admit it but don’t worry, I know you can do it.
Your point is about playing any char you want, with the number of hydro and dendro char, you have variety with Nilou too. If you wanna play other know that Nilou’s personnal damage (while not HuTao lvl) aren’t garbage, you can play vape or mono hydro just fine even at C0.
In a pure bloom comp (hydro + dendro) why would you bring other elements? Electro and Pyro mess with it, Geo doesn’t bring anything, and for Anemo, I already said CC aren’t obligatory (nice QoL tho but you can destroy anyhting without is) and VV shred isn’t important there. Cryo can bring fridge mecanic but we already have a huge seed production in 2D2H.
Bonus point for Anemo : Outside of CC, what does it bring ? With 2H1D, hydro will override dendro so you will trade powerful seed for swirl dmg. (7K x 2 per swirl is less than 25K x 2 with seeds for every 0.5 sec)
With 1H2D, you will never be able to swirl hydro to produce seeds since dendro will be permanantly on ennemis.
So only 1D1H ? with Cryo/Anemo ? A lot of CC but less seeds too.
I think best Nilou teams would have stay with Hydro and dendro chars, especially with Nahida.
But I understand, you are salty for your 50/50 loss. You aren’t the fist one, don’t worry, we are here with you, you can cry.
Wowow. If you don’t like a character fair enough, but don’t go on insulting their designs like that. Nilou’s design is representative of Persian culture, no need to be that insensitive no matter how uncultured you are.
lol, irrelevant, her design is bad regardless of what its based off, and you just assume im uncultured and hate the characters, baseless and unfounded claims that makes you look aggressive and toxic. no one clearly sees the extreme comment im replying to with extreme distain on nilou’s char in counter. no one likes ppl like this. if your gonna act a certain way don’t be surprised when ppl act like it back to you. i do this on purpose of course.
kokomi and nilou have one of the most beautiful and unique designs in the game… i wonder what character designs do you think are good
I’m more about being happy that anyone recognize her power now, so if people can get her, it will be more Nilou everywhere to share joy all over Teyvat =3
People shitposting her will still shitpost gnagnagna no anemo CC gnagnagna team restriction and all. Look at Kokomi. Kokomi is T0 support, 2nd best unit to have according to CN community (before Nahida’s release, she might drop to third place now?), and shitposter still shitpost her. Even the Saint Zajef still says “Eeehh….” when talking about her in a really recent video. (I don’t attack Zajef, his content is great and I follow him and his work, I just don’t understand why he doesn’t like Kokomi and only talk about removing her as soon as a new unit appears in every team she have a room)
*Sees “skippers should suffer longer”
Me: Agrees?
*Remembers I really wanted her but lost 50/50*
Also Me: Wait a minute I Disagree! I disagree ?
U should quote correctly tho. “skipper” vs “regretted skipper”. They’re different
just what a pity for her super niche passive, where she wants 2 dendro and 2 hydro … i can’t even do 1 dendro or 1 hydro and the rest the opposite without losing that effect, what a stupid shit is this
Was that too much, leaving it with just “dendro and hydro only” teams? prolly, yes
Whut ? I think you didn’t understand how she work. It’s at least 1 dendro and 1 hydro + whatever hydro and dendro you want in a “dendro and hydro only team”. You can do 3D1H, 1D3H, even 1D1H is fine… Where the f*ck did you see the 2D2H restriction ?
