This can trigger once every 0.1s. After using this, Mavuika gains 10 Nightsoul points and enters the Nightsoul's Blessing state. Riding her Flamestrider high in the air, she uses a powerful Sunfell Slice against opponents on the ground, dealing Nightsoul-aligned During this time, Mavuika's various actions will no longer consume Nightsoul points, and her interruption resistance is increased. I just want her tap E skill for off field has 100% uptime, i don’t really care about her restricted team comp or something. Or she will get power creep by 5-7 version later. Or Nightsoul reliant for her burst. Will i pull her whether her E skill will change or not? Yes, since i will collect all Archon Character anyway.
But i can see where some people coming from, on which people hope Mavuika new way of game play or comp. Well long an behold she has very restricted team comp, i can see why they mad but once again personally i don’t really care about that.
By the end of the day, Hoyoverse rarely listen to their player especially about character kit. It’s pretty much set in stone, is it disappointing? Yes, but what can we do since the majority of genshin players are casual player that won’t care about this kind of stuff.
Yes, i know it should not be normalized but once again as long majority of players don’t care and don’t make a significant move Hoyo won’t change their way, if it’s really bothers you, i personally think you really need to stop playing the game. No hate just for your goodness.

Mavuika looks to be pretty solid for off-field if you are restricted for her on-field dps teams. I believe the Hoyo devs handled her off-field kit fairly well. No, she is not a direct one-for-one Xiangling replacement and that is fine. People want her to be one but that poses a threat to her validity in using Cinder City.
I’ve tried using Cinder City on Xiangling, and yes, she is inconsistent in being a trigger for pyro reactions. Her pyro app is so strong the other element usually follows suit. Only 1.0 characters or having two characters of the reacting element is capable of keeping the more dominant aura. Cinder City giving pyro and dendro dmg bonuses would only happen via burgeon, not so much with burning with a pyro Cinder City set holder. It’s also not gonna happen in melt either unless you trigger forward melt at beginning of setup or reverse vape.
Cinder City is another breed of VV double swirl setup clunkiness. It’s a set best rendered to characters of geo, anemo, dendro or electro since geo and anemo are always the triggers for their respective reactions, electro can coexist with other elements on equal grounds (electro-charged’s equal aura consumption for both electro and hydro), and dendro with dendro coexisting aura in quicken, being weaker element in burning, and having weaker application in bloom.
This is pretty much the Raiden-Beidou scenario again. The prior on-field dps archon sacrifficed synergy with a character to have better synergy with an artifact set, and same here, the pyro on-field dps archon sacrifices synergy with other characters to have better synergy with an artifact set.
I also think Mavuika is gonna have good synergy and more flexibility with Ororon and Pyro Traveler. Pyro Traveler’s standard ICD and rate of pyro application makes them more likely the trigger of a pyro reaction than that of another element. A longer duration and more pyro app on Mavuika renders the chances of triggering a pyro related reactions to be more difficult and you’d basically have to have it occur by chance post-setup. Idea is to not end a rotation with pyro as a remaining aura, so that the next rotation can begin with the other elemental aura for Mavuika to apply pyro on and retrigger Cinder City again.
If Furina could use Cinder City full ability, whats the chances that she can trigger it from second rotation onward since hydro remains on the enemy with her really long uptime? What happens is in that case, Cinder City 4pc set effect would need to be re-triggered during the rotation post-setup which is a negative for characters that snapshot.
So while Mavuika’s on-field role is restrictive and glued to Xilonen, her off-field role isn’t as bad as people suggest. It seems people want to lose consistency of the value of Cinder City to replace Xiangling, which I understand if people were clear about it. Having No ICD for a character that would use Cinder City makes Cinder City clunky. Being a trigger of an elemental reaction is much easier with standard ICD.
A reasonable take, I must say. I’ll admit I leaned towards the doomposting side of things near the start/middle of beta, but I’ve come around to her Off-field capability as I analyzed the position of Pyro units and Cinder City viability. Archon Betas are a hell of a drug, I gotta try to stay strong next time 🙁
I think she has just enough to offer to keep herself strong without sacrificing her kit to replace XL entirely. It’s just like Furina, the “lesser” application is not only acceptable (having a mobile trio of Hydro turrets is god tier even with slightly slower application speed), but actually helps out with specific team setups (Furina is great for Quickbloom since she doesn’t mess up Quicken auras as much).
I will say that the Cinder City 2pc being useless on her burst will always mess with me, but thats just me being a perfectionist ;3
Oh brother, just say she can use Cinder City instead of writing a 500 words paragraph. You forget to mention her off-field skill is not guaranteed 100% uptime, gonna left some info to advertise your waifu I guess. Also, my boi Ororon won’t work well with her as he only use his nightsoul point when enemies are wet and spicy (Electrocharged) which Mavuika will destory with overload. Moreover, Ororon usually carry CC, so yeah, Mavuika just an awkward side grade in his teams cuz CC buff don’t stack.

I love to be the one to tell you this: Ororon works just fine with Mavuika. Nightsoul aligned attacks also trigger his Hypersense, as an alternative to Electro-Charged.
I’ve tested it with Kachina and Chasca with no Hydro present on the battle field, works like a charm.
You are correct about the uptime issue and CC not stacking though, unless they stealth buff her skill before release.
Ororon only needs electrocharge if there is no Natlan character present in the team. His talent states either electrocharge or nightsoul-aligned damage, since Mavuika can deal nightsoul-aligned damage, Ororon’s talent should still be able to be activated
So er stat is useless and they made her broken in natlan patch but easily powercrept after natlan… this is Fontaine’s awful arche mechanic x 10…
