Character Details | When night falls, the Frostmoon Scions dwell within a "tower." At the top of this tower is a seemingly unchanging full moon, and at its base is the soil of Hiisi Island. Its walls are made of white moonlight, allowing any to pass through. Oh, how gentle the Moon Goddess is. Even if not all should believe in her, even if not all should know of her, she spreads her grace without reserve. Thus spoke the old priestess of the Frostmoon Scions. As those words hung in the air, the sounds of lowered voices praying could be heard, but Lauma's was not among them. She gazed at the full moon in silence, her eyes fixed upon it alone, like the most devout of believers. She was undoubtedly in this tower as well, having grown up and lived here since birth in this spire built by the moon, its light, and the adherents of its deity. She continued gazing at the full moon in the sky, thinking that perhaps there was truth in the saying, "humans could never build a tower to reach the heavens." |
Character Story 1 | "She descended when late spring's first full moon hung in the sky, trees and flowers grew in response to her first cry." "Laugh now, dance now, as the newborn Moonchanter weeps—" "For her horns and blood are bathed in moonlight, for beneath the Moon Goddess's gaze shall she sleep." ...Lauma closed the Frostmoon Scions' journal. She always found herself unconsciously turning to the page that recorded her birth, trying to feel the joy of the faithful through the yellowed notes. Just as geniuses often emerge from among common stock, Lauma, an extraordinary being, was born to an ordinary Frostmoon Scion couple. According to records, "her eyes were like the moontide, her antlered crown grew under the moonlight, and her silver blood flowed like the moon's reflection in water" — a "miracle bestowed upon the faithful by the Moon Goddess." At the fringe of the world, among the "Frostmoon Scions," who had seemingly become forgotten by time itself, Lauma became a beacon of hope, timely yet untimely. The overjoyed followers took her as proof that their Moon Goddess had not abandoned them, and she became a living symbol. Few are chosen at birth to succeed the title of Moonchanter, and as a Frostmoon Scion herself, Lauma should have rejoiced, regarding this responsibility as a supreme honor. Just as it was written in the next passage of the journal, yes, the very words Lauma had committed to memory: "...Sweetly shall she sleep beneath the Moon Goddess's gaze." "And when the moon slumbers and the sun rises, she shall speak for the supreme Frost Moon Goddess." * Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 2 |
Character Story 2 | If one was born early enough, lived long enough, and one's forbidden memories weren't erased by more transcendent beings, they would surely remember (and such beings do exist in Teyvat) that before the war of funerary flame, the Three Moon Goddesses, who served Nibelung, once coexisted harmoniously with the principles of Celestia for a time. Of course, if one were to inquire about this matter with Celestia, the high heavens might respond with ambiguity. The Three Moons were once satellites that guarded Teyvat, and the Moon Sisters were executors of the planet's will. Celestia's principles were once quite "tolerant," not necessarily requiring the exclusion of those divergent from itself. For the Three Moon Goddesses, their sole duty was to maintain the planet's existence and operation. And so the moonlight continued to illuminate the lands of Teyvat. Alas, even they, who kept to themselves, could not remain uninvolved. Inevitably, conflicts between those in power would affect some of those who were subordinate to them. If any survivors of bygone golden Hyperborea yet endured to the present day, they would surely have many tales to tell, but alas, the Frostmoon Scions do not understand their ancestors' grievances. They can now only pray to the bright moon in vain. In this, Lauma was relatively fortunate, even amongst blind believers. She did not know anything of the above, but she could nonetheless sense keenly that the full moon in the sky was bright yet lifeless. Rather, the tides that truly moved her heart and caused her antler-crown to grow were somewhere farther away, beyond her reach. This feeling had troubled her for a long time, and like how one might feel if made to pray to an apple painted on canvas, beseeching it to satisfy their hunger, she was ever restless. Fortunately, this question was now answered at last. Although the sky had suddenly "become" fake, she had confirmed the authenticity of her senses. She had never thought ignorance to be a good thing, even if the truth was more unsettling. Life could never be lived entirely as one wished — indeed, life itself was born of contradictions. But at least it need not be tainted by lies and concealment. * Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 3 |
Character Story 3 | Lauma once set some "precepts" for herself. These might seem irrational to others, so for the longest time, she never mentioned them to anyone. She believed that she must never lie. Silence, too, was an answer in the face of uncertainty, but one must never fabricate facts to fashion peace papered over. This was especially so for a Moonchanter, one whose every word the believers all too easily took for truth. Thus, lying was an unforgivable sin. But was praying to a false moon in the sky a lie in itself? She could not be sure of that, and this again left her feeling restless. She resolved that she must never give herself to wrath. The Maiden of the Grove was to be gentle and loving, just as the Frost Moon's goddess was. The lake's light beneath the moon was free of ripples — had the goddess's envoy any right to be angry? The tides of kuuvahki often disturbed her peace of mind, yes, but surely a leader worth their salt must learn to control their emotions. Yet some emotions did not arise from the tidal motions. She was not given to shouting or crying out in rage, but was giving her foes a thrashing anger? She rubbed her fingers together somewhat nervously. With whom could she consult on this matter? She told herself that she must not change. Over countless years of evolution, the Frostmoon Scions had drifted far from their golden era. Any fluctuation now could snap this precariously perched branch. This was especially so when the faithful viewed her, one born "special," as their hope. She had to maintain an image befitting a Moonchanter. Yet she had already revealed the truth about the moon and the sky to everyone. This time, she needed no consultation to know that change had already begun. At this point, all three precepts now seemed meaningless. Thus, Lauma finally let her guard down, and one night, she confided these unspeakable matters to her animal friends. As she expected, the little animals warmly welcomed her, and as usual, they all chattered away about life — specifically, her life. True friends they proved indeed, first affirming her honesty and reliability, then praising her gentle and caring nature, and finally declaring that Lauma had always been this way, and had indeed remained unchanged. (Hearing this made her quite happy, but she then grew increasingly embarrassed... and came to wish she had two extra legs to run away immediately.) Finally, a little cat who would often play in Nasha Town concluded: "If I, Ashru, had to point out any problems... I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Your issue is that you're too stubborn!" * Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 4 |
Character Story 4 | Lauma once presided over an engagement ceremony. This ceremony boasted three attendees — a young adventurer who sometimes helped out at The Flagship tavern, a young woman of the Frostmoon Scions who was planning to leave Nod-Krai with him, and the Moonchanter, who had mysteriously appeared in their tavern room. There the three of them stood, staring at each other. For a time, no one spoke. The man pulled a handkerchief from his pocket with trembling hands, handing it to the nervous young woman to wipe the sweat from her brow. Lauma turned out to be the most composed one in this circumstance. She clearly understood what was happening, but a halting explanation still came spilling from the young woman's lips: "...I—I didn't mean to leave without saying goodbye. I left a note under my pillow for... W—Well, not that I have family here anyway, so it might never have been seen, but..." The young man also hurried to add on assurances: "I'll take good care of her, and I'll bring her back often to visit her friends! I'm not some irresponsible lout — look, I've even proposed to her..." Lauma looked at their clasped hands and the matching rings on their fingers with furrowed brows. The young woman started sweating again, seemingly ready to grab her fiancé and make a run for it, but Lauma stood at the doorway, her impressive height (horns included) barring the doorway as well as any steel-wrought portcullis. Lauma thought for a while before finally speaking, just as the two of them had begun considering leaping out through the window: "Firstly, I know you two have been seeing each other for some time now. Secondly, I never said you could not leave. Thirdly, one must have a ceremony to go with an engagement. So please, wait here. I will get things ready." "...Huh?" Within half an hour, she had gathered everything needed for just such an engagement ritual (including somehow obtaining Nocturnal Blossoms that should only bloom at three in the morning), and in the cramped guest room (with half-packed luggage still scattered all about), conducted a complete engagement ceremony that fully adhered to the Frostmoon Scions' customs (with Lauma playing all the relevant roles — master of ceremonies, bride's family member, and ecclesiast). When all was said and done, the young woman heaved a sigh of relief. "So you were concerned about the ritual, Lady Lauma... I must say, you're quite, ah, stubborn in the most... unexpected ways..." "Am I being stubborn?" Lauma tilted her head, somewhat confused. "This is something that must be done." "Ah, yes. And one more thing. Sir, please leave your name, family name, middle name, as well as your fixed address. I will need to send you our sacramental victuals." * Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 5 |
Character Story 5 | Lauma once presided over a funeral. The deceased was quite the long-lived elder, having spent one hundred and two years in this harsh, cold land. Smiling with wrinkles gathered at the corners of her eyes, seemingly never changing — thus had Lauma always remembered her. In the days following her accession to Moonchanter, Lauma had learned much knowledge from this elder. On the final night before the old dame's departure, she had quietly kept vigil at the woman's bedside. According to the teachings of the Frostmoon Scions, death is not the end, as life is in constant "flux." Friends and family simply return to nature when the time is right, and they shall surely reunite in the future. To "fall asleep" in peace under the pure moonlight was considered the highest blessing the Moon Goddess could bestow. It should have been just such a night of serenity, the moonlight shining overhead as it had for years unnumbered, the birds and beasts holding silent reverence. Until the elderly matron softly said: "Lady Moonchanter... the Moon Goddess doesn't really exist, does she?" This was no question, in truth. From the elder's steady tone, she seemed to have already concluded this to be fact. For one hundred and two years, the Moon Goddess had never once answered her prayers. Many thoughts crossed Lauma's mind at once. She thought of the giant statue on the Light-Bathed Platform. She thought of that young woman who looked exactly like that statue... She wanted to say: No, ma'am, the Moon Goddess truly exists, just not in the way everyone had imagined. The Moon Goddess appears to just be a "person" like you, and she has spent these one hundred and two years living through lonely, cold nights, just as you have. "It's alright. You need not answer." As Lauma hesitated, the elder gently shook her head. "Whether the Moon Goddess is unwilling to appear or simply doesn't exist, the passage of time remains unaffected." "We Frostmoon Scions can live just fine on our own, can't we?" The elder held Lauma's hand ever so gently, as though she was the one who needed comfort, "So unfurrow your brow and smile, Lady Moonchanter. You have done very well." "There's no need to grieve over anyone's absence... 'Death may bring forth anger, but anger too is in vain.'" Lauma could not help but smile, even as she held the old woman's hand in turn. So she waited, waiting for the painless and peaceful slumber to carry the elder back to the warm sea of life, where at its center, three full moons must surely be reflected. * Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 6 |
Paper Star | Lauma learned how to fold paper stars from the young children of the Frostmoon Scions, who had learned it from outside Hiisi Island in turn. The children were particularly enthusiastic about teaching something to the powerful Moonchanter. They took the initiative to cut out colorful strips of paper and even brought out some large glass jars. "The lady in town told us not to get greedy and make the stars too big, or they'll collapse inward super easy, 'cuz there's nothing in the middle," a little girl said with a grin. "Especially that lady with the metal arm. She flattens those stars without even trying!" Lauma listened with exceptional attentiveness, working both quickly and well. She placed her own folded stars together with the children's in the same jar, and suddenly that dull glass container came alive with activity. Given her current status and age, it might seem childish for her to be absorbed with such small arts and crafts. But then again, none had called her too mature when she read voluminously as a child, either. And so, she huddled peacefully with the children in the corner of the room, folding three whole jars' worth of paper stars. * Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 4 |
Moon Wheel | Lauma was very thankful for the existence of Moon Wheels and was delighted to have one, but in truth, it troubled her quite a bit that she couldn't remember how she had obtained hers. Grandma Sarakka said that her Moon Wheel had fallen out of her swaddling clothes. Although her parents' memories were a bit hazy on the matter, being overwhelmed by the arrival of their newborn at the time, they confirmed this account. If she were to tell others about her troubles, they would surely be confused. Wasn't having a Moon Wheel since birth a good thing? What was there to worry about, anyway? It seemed that besides herself, no one found anything wrong with one appearing next to a baby. "A miracle happening to a Moonchanter... Isn't that just normal?" Lauma found herself at a loss for words. How natural and human it was to want to know the origins of something, yet despite searching through the entire library's records, she could not find a satisfactory answer. She never let go of this question, so much so that when she later met the Moon Maiden, she couldn't help but ask about this. Kuutar's response was exceedingly simple: "Oh?" ...Therefore, the closest explanation must still come from Hyperborea. The history of the golden realm was long indeed, and could even be traced back to the era when three moons rose in the skies. They learned to use the lunar tides to power their magics, but were in turn affected by those same ebbs and flows, and some of them thus had horned crowns akin to deer antlers grow from their heads. However, had Moon Wheels even existed in the world back then? Lauma frowned in contemplation, and indeed must have accidentally started talking to herself, prompting a passing child to ask loudly: "Lady Lauma, did your horns grow so long because you have a Moon Wheel?" Her frown only deepened: "Well... I suppose... I'm sorry, I don't know." Disappointing children was something she wished never to do if she could help it, but surprisingly, the little one did not seem discouraged by not getting an answer to his question. "Oh!" He said, as if sudden realization had dawned. "Could you have gotten the Moon Wheel because you have the longest horns?" Oh, how Lauma wanted to accept this answer from the bottom of her heart at that moment. How clever it was, this cycle of cause and effect that shuttled from front to back, then back to front, which seemed to explain (or rather, gloss over) so many questions. Then she immediately stopped herself from falling into the trap of lies. Perhaps this, then, was the purpose of the Moon Wheel — a symbol, to her, of vigilance, restraint, and responsibility. So she held that puzzling Moon Wheel in her palm, silently reciting the three precepts in her heart once more. * Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 6 |

Nefer NEEDS Lauma(44.66% dmg difference on biggest hit) more than Flins needs Ineffa(17.18% dmg difference on biggest hit)
(flins-ineffa-aino-kazuha team, no gacha weapons)
(all data if from my quick testing in the GI Damage Calculator)
(don’t blame me if anything is wrong)
what are the min max of the talents? ik you should crown the skill but what abt normals and burst? do they get 6 8 or 9/10? wanna save mora
skill has res shred for hydro and dendro with 2.5% increase per skill lvl so at lvl 10 she gives 25%
burst gives bloom, hyperbloom, burgeon and lunar-bloom dmg increase based on her EM and burst lvl
499.97% of EM for bloom, hyperbloom and burgeon
400.03% of EM for lunar-bloom
and you can ignore her normal attack lvl
in summary skill and burst should be as high as possible with priority on skill
idk if someone wrote it here but it seems like Lauma has additional 200 base EM (source another website that i won’t name)
random bullshit from random braindead/troll posting then
these stats are standard, and no powercreep will give a chara 200em like that
especially her to her kit, which is busted already
its been confirmed by IWinToLose on yt shorts that at lvl 90 she has 315 base EM
She doesn’t but the event weapon we get from Luna 1 main event does give 200 em at R5. Maybe that person misremembered it.
I want to hear this character’s damage voice.
Why can’t I hear it?
My current bloom team is more than enough, even hyperbloom or burgeon. I have full build solely dedicated to bloom reaction Nilou, Nahida, Kokomi and Baizhu (literally pull these two for bloom team), traveler dendro, c6 kuki and thoma. Easily clear end-game content that need this reaction.
but damn them bewbie on Lauma is so tempting!
probably able to increase dmg output by another 20% at most if I have her, but damn again… them bewbie is worth pulling for!
The additive bonus from her burst alone improves bloom damage by ~20%; it has a limited trigger count, which is quickly consumed in AoE but has near 100% coverage for hyperbloom.
Her bloom crit is a 15% improvement, or 12.5% in a team with c2 Nahida.
Her res shred is a bit overkill when deepwood already exists, but valuable nontheless due to the scarcity of dendro res shred sources, and brings at minimum ~11% more damage (against 10% res enemies). The total of 55% res shred can also allow you to forcibly bring down some high-res enemies (e.g., consecrated beasts, natlan pillar bot boss).
Combined they improve bloom damage by ~25% without burst, up to ~50% with full burst coverage.
so it’s only 12.5% chance of CRIT if with nahida c2? and I heard from someone if there is two nod Krai char in the party (let’s include lauma and aino in this case) the crit will be zero? idk if this true or not cuz I didn’t understand either after read all the ascend passive of them
Nahida c2 gives 20% crit and 100% cdmg, which translates to +20% average damage. Similar for Lauma’s 15% crit, it makes bloom 15% stronger by itself. Their crit rates stack, resulting in a total of 35% crit, which is 35% stronger than no crit at all, and 12.5% stronger than 20% crit (1.35/1.2 = 1.125).
A second NK member does disable her bloom crit. At this moment Aino has no advantage over other hydros; the only forseeable caveats are that you cannot have both bloom crits and play lunarbloom damage (Nefer?), and that traditional bloom Lauma might not be able to take advantage of whatever Columbina brings.
Mind that Lauma’s 25%~50% improvement to bloom is when compared to a character who brings very little buff and only applies elements, such as dendro Traveller, or Baizhu/Yaoyao if you can survive without them. The difference will be smaller if she replaces a strong buffer or someone with decent personal damage. A c0 Nahida doesn’t exactly buff bloom, but she has the best dendro application (which only Lauma comes close to) and ok damage.
so is she better than c2 Nahida?
Short answer is yes, C0 Lauma better than a C2 Nahida.
Long Answer:
While Lauma is able to outright replace Nahida as the primary dendro unit on Bloom teams, Nahida is actually a strong choice for a secondary unit on those teams.
From how I see it, Lauma is primarily a support character. Her raw damage is low (especially after personal Lunar-Bloom damaged was heavily nerfed earlier in the beta) and her dendro application is only decent. However, her burst massively boosts Bloom (including Nilou’s bountiful cores) Hyperbloom, Burgeon, and Lunar Bloom.
Nahida is a hybrid Sub-DPS/Support character. Her raw damage is good (similar to Mauvika’s off-field skill damage). For support, she has very good dendro application and her burst gives a nice boost to EM for the active character.
Back in 3.X, the base damage of the Bloom reactions were enough that Nahida was able to function as the sole dendro characters for such teams. But stating in 4.0 that started to no longer be the case.
I believe that Mihoyo intends for Lauma to be compliment to Nahida rather than an outright replacement, since they cover each other’s weaknesses quite effectively. I think this will be true for both Lunar-bloom teams as well as the normal bloom variants.
Team Plans:
1 — C6R1 Nahida, C6 Kuki (R2 Xyphos), C3R0 Furina (R1 Key of KN), C1R0 Lauma (R5 Craftable); I plan on C0 to start, if I succeed her first 50/50 then I’ll go for C1. Lauma’s sigweap I’ll skip until her rerun since I need to hold funds from C2R1 Columbina.
2 — C6 Ororon (R1 Thundering Pulse), C0R0 Ineffa (Scarlet Sands), C3R1 Furina (R1 Key of KN), C1R0 Lauma (R5 Craftable); this team is what I will use to test Moonsign: Ascendant Gleam’s effects on Lauma to see if buffing her Lunar Bloom will be more beneficial than keeping her on a Moonsign: Nascent Gleam team, non-Lunar Dendro reactions. This will also help test the benefits of the new artifact sets at both Moonsign levels. Ineffa would have to take an on-field DPS role since she’ll be holding Night of Sky’s Unveiling and it seems to only trigger when on-field.
I have no plans to pull Flins or Nefer, I only want the Lunar supports so they can help my existing characters stand a fighting chance in NodKrai, I couldn’t care less for Lunar DPS units. Columbina may be a Lunar DPS, so she’d be the only one I pull in this region.
thats a retarded team
Yall consider Nilou its most a MUST with Lauma?? I like her concept of being a support of all bloom reactions since most of my units are dendro/electro/hydro, but since her biggest damage boost goes to normal Bloom, to run such team it’s Nilou a complete must or it would be optional with other alternatives?
Lauma’s best team is Hyperbloom actually. She is a buff for Nilou teams which is a good thing (and becomes one of the BiS characters for Nilou team) but Hyperbloom is still better than Nilou team (Raiden Lauma Yelan Xingqiu did 109k DPS which is currently the best that i have seen?? while Nilou Lauma team did around 90k DPS) the numbers might be off but the Hyperbloom team is still better.
Nilou strongly prefers multitarget, due to blooms being AoE and having quadratic scaling, and additional enemies causes higher dendro core generation rate. The fact that Nilou came close to hyperbloom in ST says something about her power.
On the other hand, hyperbloom does the best against 1 or 2 targets. The damage is largely single-target – though more targets improve core generation, only up to 5 cores can exist at the same time, and the current fastest trigger (Raiden) attacks every 1s, meaning hyperbloom damage is limited to a total of 5 hits/s – too many enemies will disperse this damage.
There isn’t a real fair environment to compare the two archetypes in, as despite both focus on bloom, each has the other’s weakness as their strength.
Lauma’s weapon having higher normal bloom dmg bonus is to compensate for normal bloom’s lower base damage, and bloom having no dedicated trigger unit.
my team(nilou, nahida c2, xingq, yao2) died quite often from bloom self damage.. and now they buff bloom like no tomorow!
maybe nahida and lauma not supposed to be together on team?
solution. lauma c1
mommy with big booba? sign me in

My thoughts on Lauma:
This druid is looking like to be the most compelling character out of all of the 6.0 characters for me. This is due to her reviving the bloom and it’s archetypes, allowing this team archetype to regain viability. Here is how I feel she does with 3 main variants:
———————————–
Bountiful Cores
———————————–
Nilou massively gets buffed, to the point that she will become the new best Sumeru character. Lauma solidifies her teams as being the best overall in AOE, while dramatically increasing single target damage to be more comparable (if not exactly surpassing) what most Natlan and Fontaine based teams are capable of doing.
Because Nilou’s teams are the most susceptible to bloom-self damage, I feel that Kokomi becomes the best hydro on-field driver for these teams, since she can easily apply hydro and heal her team at the same time. In my opinion this will be Kokomi’s most meta-relevant team (once again!).
Nahida is in a weird spot, since she technically got power-crept by Lauma in bloom. However, she can still give assistance as a offensive oriented 2nd dendro teammate, thanks to her personal damage and very high dendro application. In addition, the EM boost from her elemental burst will get the most use in Nilou bloom teams since the onfield is most likely to be triggering the bountiful cores.
If Lauma is not at C2, or if Kokomi is not being used, then Baizhu becomes the best 2nd dendro teammate due to his healing and shields. Yao Yao could also be used, but she is less flexible due to needing more on field time for her burst healing to work properly.
Aino and Xingqi should be the best 4* hydro characters for these teams.
—————————————
Hyperbloom
—————————————
As the best overall Hyperbloom trigger, Kuki Shinobu gets heavily buffed by Lauma as well. Lauma + Kuki will make for a strong Hyperbloom duo, and will give a lot of flexibility on who can be used for the final two spots.
Most hydro units work well with Hyperbloom.
Alhaitham will get some usage again as a on-field driver, and Cyno to a lesser extent. Raiden Shogun will be the second best off-field electro unit if Kuki is not being used.
Not much to say here since Hyperbloom is the most popular bloom variant and the teammates are quite well known.
————————————-
Burgeon
————————————-
Burgeon (which I am the most familiar with since I have a burgeon team) also gets buffed quite a bit, but it still the weakest of the 3 bloom variants. This is partially due to the possibility of burning, which is a bad reaction (compared to quicken for Hyperbloom) and partially due to Burgeon not having a dedicated off-field trigger (like Kuki is for Hyperbloom).
Thoma is the best off-field trigger of Burgeon, but has several flaws (shield scales on HP, not EM, he needs to use his elemental burst to use his off-field pyro, and normal attacks are need by the on-fielder to triggers the effects). Nonetheless, Thoma gets buffed due to Burgeon getting buffed.
Pyro Traveler is the next best off-field trigger for Burgeon, and has the advantage of not requiring energy and of the off-field attacks not requiring normal attacks. But they doesn’t offer any defensive utility at all, and they has up-time issues. However, as I expect the Pyro traveler to be pushed out of their other teams by 6.X units, I expect that Burgeon will end up being the Pyro traveler’s best team.
Since Burgeon teams tend to have at least some burning, Emilie could be used as a strong 2nd Dendro option to take advantage, and provide very strong raw off-field Dendro damage.
Strong hydro application will be needed. Ayato and Childe have their limitations, but they could be strong on-fielders due to them working with Thoma (they both use normal attacks) and having strong application that should be able to make Dendro cores (and doing forward vapes on burning enemies when they occur). Xingqi would be the best off-field hydro character due to his high hydro application.
————————————
Of course, Lauma’s best team should involved Lunar Bloom, but that won’t be viable until she gets a Lunar Bloom main DPS to pair up with (whom will almost certainly will be Nefer).
I’m looking forward to seeing how the community uses Lauma when she finally gets released.
Lauma gains healing at C1 which, when built properly, is not far behind a Kokomi using E only.
Other than healers, Kaveh is also an option for surviving bloom self-damage, as he heals himself upon being damaged by bloom, and can result in net HP gain if he has enough EM. Lauma’s turret particle generation also help with Kaveh’s energy needs.
Nahida’s C2 bloom crit rate stacks with Lauma’s – a whooping 35% – which also means heavier self-damage. IMO this duo is best used in hyperbloom, where spread can occur due to Lauma supplementing dendro. Otherwise Nahida and Lauma can also stand in for each other, in case you somehow desperately need two teams with dendro appliers (similar to Xingqiu & Yelan situation).
Aino (and probably Columbina, who is rumoured to be hydro) should not be teammed with Lauma, due to the increased moonsign level replaces Lauma’s bloom crits (on lvl.1, by herself) with lunar-bloom crits (lvl.2); unless you intend to play lunar-bloom, for which you need an appropriate DPS.
Cyno’s current best team is likely lunar-charged, where his EM and crits are all put to use, and Ineffa’s effects having 20s uptime. Lauma’s effect durations are relatively short (15s) and you will need to either end Cyno’s ult prematurely, or the buffs won’t last through his ult.
Burgeon has burning to complicate thing, but like you have said one can use it to their advantage or find ways to avoid burning.
Lauma’s dendro application (1U/2s) is weaker than Nahida’s (1.5U/2.5s), which means Lauma will be slightly better at burgeon due to less hydro required to remove her dendro aura.
Emilie’s extra dendro will tip the team towards burning.
Currently the ones best at taking advantage of forward vape are Mualani (who can vape 100% of her damage) and Furina (can vape over 60%, from off-field). Mualani is not an option as she applies so little hydro that barely any cores will be created, making it pointless to include Lauma. Furina allows for an on-field burgeon trigger, and also prefers having Emilie on team to make use of her DMG buff.
PMC wants to use their Q to supplement nightsoul points; they can have up to 14s/18s of uptime. Mavuika works similarly, with better uptime.
A weird option for trigger is Bennett+Anemo. Sunfire has a rather short uptime; The best Anemo for this purpose is Kazuha. He naturally builds EM, and can absorb an element into his E and Q, which Bennett’s Q can guarantee to be pyro. A C6 Bennett also allows Kazuha to trigger burgeon with NA first, then burst at the end for near 100% uptime.
So I have C2 Nahida and I plan on pulling for at least C2 Lauma. The two teams I’m planning running Lauma in is the obvious nilou bloom team and the other is a Lunar-Charged/Lunar-Bloom team with Ineffa. For the first team, would you recommend Lauma to be on the new ER/EM artifact set, the EM/Crit set or should she hold Deepwood. If she’s holding Deepwood, what would you recommend Nahida hold since she’s my current DW holder?
Lauma wants to burst off-cooldown so a bit of ER never hurts.
Currently you’d only get 60 EM from Silken Moon’s Serenade, and the lunar reaction dmg is mostly useless; but this is the only 5* set that provides teamwide EM, and Lauma can consistently trigger it by virtue of having moonsign herself (the holder doesn’t have to be a nod-krai unit, but the team needs moonsign levels to trigger SMS).
Compared to Instructor, SMS provides less EM at moonsign lvl.1, but can be triggered from off-field and does not require the holder to trigger reaction.
I’d say SMS is her best generalist set for now, and it will become her BIS if you plan on playing lunar-bloom (Nefer?).
Nahida is still the best at triggering Deepwood, for having the longest-lasting and best-ranged skill – unless the enemies die in 1 hit and her E couldn’t keep up, but you wouldn’t really need DW then – and though it results in less personal damage than Gilded Dream, her damage is not very important without spread. Lauma also shreds 25% dendro & hydro RES with her E, which is usually enough against enemies without RES mechanics (whose number are sadly increasing).
well in my case as to ur curiousness about how people will use lauma…In my case i always tend to go for hyperbloom as it feels so satisfying to me seeing all 3 electro, hydro, and dendro elements dealing dmg that way plus, raiden being one of my favorites becoming relevant again because of lauma and all these new upcoming lunar reactions. I also it feel it can work with nefer when she releases as i am tempted to pull her and do some type of lauma, nefer, raiden, yelan team (columbina in the future hopefully)
Does anyone have any insider info on the damage formula for Lunar-Bloom? I was looking at the tooltip for it or whatever and it was saying that it can crit like Lunar-Charged can. Could that mean the hydro and dendro damage are combined like hydro and electro are for Lunar-Charged? Also, would that mean direct Lunar-Bloom damage, ie Lauma’s C6 or the second hit of her Hold E, has some kind of multipler? Also does anyone have any theory crafting of what her ideal amount of EM would be? I do plan on pulling for weapon.
Lunarbloom is basically the same as regular bloom, other than also generating verdant dew. No reaction causes LB damage; it only exists in talents.
You can find all sorts of formulae here:
https://homdgcat.wiki/gi/formulae
Unfortunately they are all in Chinese so I’ll put the lunarbloom formula here:
direct dmg = stat * scaling * (1 + base dmg bonus) * (1 + (6*EM/(EM+2000)) + LB dmg bonus)
final damage = (direct dmg + additive bonus) * RES multiplier * Crit
base dmg bonus: Lauma passive (14%)
additive bonus: Lauma Q
As for Lauma’s EM, I think the more the merrier, since everything in her kit scale off EM. She might want some Crit for her personal damage (like Nahida) but it’s probably negligible without her C6. Even her weapon has got no Crits.
