61 responses to “Lauma”
my team(nilou, nahida c2, xingq, yao2) died quite often from bloom self damage.. and now they buff bloom like no tomorow!
maybe nahida and lauma not supposed to be together on team?
mommy with big booba? sign me in
My thoughts on Lauma:
This druid is looking like to be the most compelling character out of all of the 6.0 characters for me. This is due to her reviving the bloom and it’s archetypes, allowing this team archetype to regain viability. Here is how I feel she does with 3 main variants:
———————————–
Bountiful Cores
———————————–
Nilou massively gets buffed, to the point that she will become the new best Sumeru character. Lauma solidifies her teams as being the best overall in AOE, while dramatically increasing single target damage to be more comparable (if not exactly surpassing) what most Natlan and Fontaine based teams are capable of doing.
Because Nilou’s teams are the most susceptible to bloom-self damage, I feel that Kokomi becomes the best hydro on-field driver for these teams, since she can easily apply hydro and heal her team at the same time. In my opinion this will be Kokomi’s most meta-relevant team (once again!).
Nahida is in a weird spot, since she technically got power-crept by Lauma in bloom. However, she can still give assistance as a offensive oriented 2nd dendro teammate, thanks to her personal damage and very high dendro application. In addition, the EM boost from her elemental burst will get the most use in Nilou bloom teams since the onfield is most likely to be triggering the bountiful cores.
If Lauma is not at C2, or if Kokomi is not being used, then Baizhu becomes the best 2nd dendro teammate due to his healing and shields. Yao Yao could also be used, but she is less flexible due to needing more on field time for her burst healing to work properly.
Aino and Xingqi should be the best 4* hydro characters for these teams.
—————————————
Hyperbloom
—————————————
As the best overall Hyperbloom trigger, Kuki Shinobu gets heavily buffed by Lauma as well. Lauma + Kuki will make for a strong Hyperbloom duo, and will give a lot of flexibility on who can be used for the final two spots.
Most hydro units work well with Hyperbloom.
Alhaitham will get some usage again as a on-field driver, and Cyno to a lesser extent. Raiden Shogun will be the second best off-field electro unit if Kuki is not being used.
Not much to say here since Hyperbloom is the most popular bloom variant and the teammates are quite well known.
————————————-
Burgeon
————————————-
Burgeon (which I am the most familiar with since I have a burgeon team) also gets buffed quite a bit, but it still the weakest of the 3 bloom variants. This is partially due to the possibility of burning, which is a bad reaction (compared to quicken for Hyperbloom) and partially due to Burgeon not having a dedicated off-field trigger (like Kuki is for Hyperbloom).
Thoma is the best off-field trigger of Burgeon, but has several flaws (shield scales on HP, not EM, he needs to use his elemental burst to use his off-field pyro, and normal attacks are need by the on-fielder to triggers the effects). Nonetheless, Thoma gets buffed due to Burgeon getting buffed.
Pyro Traveler is the next best off-field trigger for Burgeon, and has the advantage of not requiring energy and of the off-field attacks not requiring normal attacks. But they doesn’t offer any defensive utility at all, and they has up-time issues. However, as I expect the Pyro traveler to be pushed out of their other teams by 6.X units, I expect that Burgeon will end up being the Pyro traveler’s best team.
Since Burgeon teams tend to have at least some burning, Emilie could be used as a strong 2nd Dendro option to take advantage, and provide very strong raw off-field Dendro damage.
Strong hydro application will be needed. Ayato and Childe have their limitations, but they could be strong on-fielders due to them working with Thoma (they both use normal attacks) and having strong application that should be able to make Dendro cores (and doing forward vapes on burning enemies when they occur). Xingqi would be the best off-field hydro character due to his high hydro application.
————————————
Of course, Lauma’s best team should involved Lunar Bloom, but that won’t be viable until she gets a Lunar Bloom main DPS to pair up with (whom will almost certainly will be Nefer).
I’m looking forward to seeing how the community uses Lauma when she finally gets released.
Lauma gains healing at C1 which, when built properly, is not far behind a Kokomi using E only.
Other than healers, Kaveh is also an option for surviving bloom self-damage, as he heals himself upon being damaged by bloom, and can result in net HP gain if he has enough EM. Lauma’s turret particle generation also help with Kaveh’s energy needs.
Nahida’s C2 bloom crit rate stacks with Lauma’s – a whooping 35% – which also means heavier self-damage. IMO this duo is best used in hyperbloom, where spread can occur due to Lauma supplementing dendro. Otherwise Nahida and Lauma can also stand in for each other, in case you somehow desperately need two teams with dendro appliers (similar to Xingqiu & Yelan situation).
Aino (and probably Columbina, who is rumoured to be hydro) should not be teammed with Lauma, due to the increased moonsign level replaces Lauma’s bloom crits (on lvl.1, by herself) with lunar-bloom crits (lvl.2); unless you intend to play lunar-bloom, for which you need an appropriate DPS.
Cyno’s current best team is likely lunar-charged, where his EM and crits are all put to use, and Ineffa’s effects having 20s uptime. Lauma’s effect durations are relatively short (15s) and you will need to either end Cyno’s ult prematurely, or the buffs won’t last through his ult.
Burgeon has burning to complicate thing, but like you have said one can use it to their advantage or find ways to avoid burning.
Lauma’s dendro application (1U/2s) is weaker than Nahida’s (1.5U/2.5s), which means Lauma will be slightly better at burgeon due to less hydro required to remove her dendro aura.
Emilie’s extra dendro will tip the team towards burning.
Currently the ones best at taking advantage of forward vape are Mualani (who can vape 100% of her damage) and Furina (can vape over 60%, from off-field). Mualani is not an option as she applies so little hydro that barely any cores will be created, making it pointless to include Lauma. Furina allows for an on-field burgeon trigger, and also prefers having Emilie on team to make use of her DMG buff.
PMC wants to use their Q to supplement nightsoul points; they can have up to 14s/18s of uptime. Mavuika works similarly, with better uptime.
A weird option for trigger is Bennett+Anemo. Sunfire has a rather short uptime; The best Anemo for this purpose is Kazuha. He naturally builds EM, and can absorb an element into his E and Q, which Bennett’s Q can guarantee to be pyro. A C6 Bennett also allows Kazuha to trigger burgeon with NA first, then burst at the end for near 100% uptime.
So I have C2 Nahida and I plan on pulling for at least C2 Lauma. The two teams I’m planning running Lauma in is the obvious nilou bloom team and the other is a Lunar-Charged/Lunar-Bloom team with Ineffa. For the first team, would you recommend Lauma to be on the new ER/EM artifact set, the EM/Crit set or should she hold Deepwood. If she’s holding Deepwood, what would you recommend Nahida hold since she’s my current DW holder?
Lauma wants to burst off-cooldown so a bit of ER never hurts.
Currently you’d only get 60 EM from Silken Moon’s Serenade, and the lunar reaction dmg is mostly useless; but this is the only 5* set that provides teamwide EM, and Lauma can consistently trigger it by virtue of having moonsign herself (the holder doesn’t have to be a nod-krai unit, but the team needs moonsign levels to trigger SMS).
Compared to Instructor, SMS provides less EM at moonsign lvl.1, but can be triggered from off-field and does not require the holder to trigger reaction.
I’d say SMS is her best generalist set for now, and it will become her BIS if you plan on playing lunar-bloom (Nefer?).
Nahida is still the best at triggering Deepwood, for having the longest-lasting and best-ranged skill – unless the enemies die in 1 hit and her E couldn’t keep up, but you wouldn’t really need DW then – and though it results in less personal damage than Gilded Dream, her damage is not very important without spread. Lauma also shreds 25% dendro & hydro RES with her E, which is usually enough against enemies without RES mechanics (whose number are sadly increasing).
well in my case as to ur curiousness about how people will use lauma…In my case i always tend to go for hyperbloom as it feels so satisfying to me seeing all 3 electro, hydro, and dendro elements dealing dmg that way plus, raiden being one of my favorites becoming relevant again because of lauma and all these new upcoming lunar reactions. I also it feel it can work with nefer when she releases as i am tempted to pull her and do some type of lauma, nefer, raiden, yelan team (columbina in the future hopefully)
