I love the direction they’re going with her. It reminds me of Nilou, but she has a bit more versatility with her kit. Her sig seems really niche right now (similar to Skirk / Arle’s weapons), but seems to imply more characters will be able to enable Lunar electro charged? I might be a bit delusional on this one, but up until now we’ve had no weapon passives that buff something only one character can uniquely do. Sigewinne, Skirk, and Arle all have BoL focused weapons that only they can take full advantage of, but more characters could release in the future that can take advantage of them.
The shield scaling seems a bit underwhelming after Lan Yan, but she also has decent damage. Her burst giving a re-summon reminds me of Fischl in a way, although it doesn’t seem like it also gives a shield refresh? I like that she buffs Lunar Electro-charged damage and has her own way of dealing it as well.
Overall, it feels like her kit ties together with itself nicely. I’m glad Hoyoverse is giving us more unique kits like this, and I’m feeling positive about the direction that the new Nod-Krai characters are going.
Some theorycrafting:
Best sets:
-Golden Troupe for personal damage
-TotM for good attack buff that she can actually make use of
-Gilded Dreams gives a lot of em and potentially lots of attack, but without another electro, it could fall off
-Deepwood could be possible in some sort of hyperbloom team as long as you get a few electro charged
-2pc/2pc with attack % or em
Best weapons:
-Her sig for obvious reasons
-Missive Windspear will probably be her best f2p option
-Dragon’s bane could be her best for those that missed Missive (assuming enemy with no innate aura)
-Rare Calamity Queller gets a new use moment
-PJWS could be good but with it might lengthen her on-field time
-Cyno’s sig could be extremely good for her if you get high em rolls
I suspect that most people will build her Golden Troupe and use TotM as an extra option when the partywide attack buff is more useful than her personal damage, similarly to Furina
My thoughts on Ineffa:
She seems to be following the same design path as Escoffier, in that she combines defensive utility (shield), sub DPS potential, and offensive buffs.
The most obvious comparisons are to Fischl and Yae Miko, whom are also primarily off-field electro DPS units.
In terms of raw damage, it seems Ineffa is between Fischl and Yae Miko, but her shield and electro-charged buff gives her added utility over both of them.
The shield looks like it will be mid (roughly equivalent to Citlali’s shield) while special “moon charge” will help give additional damage to the team, beyond Ineffa’s own personal damage. Based on what I saw when I did a google translate of her passive Assemblage Hub, moon charge does additional damage based off Ineffa’s attack, starting at a bonus of .7% per 100 of Ineffa’s attack and maxing out at 14% bonus damage. Not sure if the moon charge gets any additional properties (such as additional procs) but I assume will get more information on this as the beta goes on.
We will probably get more specific artifact sets in 6.0, but for now, Golden Troupe (to buff Ineffa’s skill damage) and Tenancity of the Millith (to buff Ineffa’s shield and give 20% team attack bonus) seem to be her best sets. One can go with either the standard ATK/Electro Dmg/Crit Dmg or rate to max Ineffa’s personal damage or ATK/ATK/ATK to maximize shield strength and the EM buff from the A4 passive.
I think that she should be a good choice for some characters in the existing roster. Here are my picks:
Neuvillette
Will probably be on his best teams WITHOUT Furina. Which is great since Furina is so wanted on so many other teams. C0 Neuvillette will appreciate the shield and moon charge should give even more AOE (and hopefully decent single target) damage.
Clorinde
Ineffa should be a great boost to her electo-charged teams. I assume it would be stronger than Aggravate, and competitive with Cheveruse Over-loaded teams. Chorinde gets a shield and more AOE damage in exhange of the raw single target damage that Cheveruse-overloaded provides This would help differentiate Clorinde more from Varesa, as the latter is a poor fit for electro-charged due to her slow rate of electro application.
Raiden Shogun
Similar to Clorinde, but a little less recommended since Raiden already has infinite resistance interruption when her burst, so the shield is less important. Honestly, I really hope Hoyoverse consideres directly buffing the old archons because as it is, Raiden can just barely keep with up at C3 with C0 modern units.
Ifa
Ifa probably going to get a rather massive boost since the main source of damage is electro charged. With Ineffa, Ororon, and a hydro unit, Ifa teams may actually be acceptable for single target content and near the top for AOE. It’s really going to depend on how the moon-charged reaction does in single target content.
Overall, I don’t expect Ineffa to be a top tier unit, but possibly solidly in high tier. She does technically power creep both Fischl and Yae Miko, but the older units still have a use case, she is only best in slot for Ifa, which isn’t that impressive.
However, investing in her in order to support future Nod Krai units may be warranted. Especially if shes gets main DPS unit that she can specifically support in 6.0, which I have seen rumors of.
wouldn’t gilded dreams be better than golden troupe? cuz most of her dmg come from the reaction not her skill I think
What weapon/set would be best for Ineffa? I plan on using her with Ayato/Kuki/Ororon, and my Ayato is on Clamity of Eshu
Cool design, but why a goddammit vacuum cleaner?
Clearly a skip. I have no interest in her
Atomic Heart aaaaaaah character lol
Will she make Clorinde more viable in electro charged comps? Either way she looks amazing, I will definitely be pulling.
Well, she is simply better Yae Miko. She doesnt waste time summoning turrents and her minon deals dmg in AOE. Instead of buffing her own dmg from EM Ineffa grants it to the team. Her Ult doesnt require long set up time to deal good dmg. She doesnt suffer from interruption instead she provide sustain in form of thick Shield with full up time.
Well at least Yae can be used as on field DPS in Ineffa teams (until 6.0 if you dont have Cyno).
