Item Story

A once-popular tool during the days when Fontaine was more dependent on manual labor.
The blade might not have been strong enough for prolonged, intense use,
But it made up for this by allowing the blunt section to be broken off at the user's convenience.

Dock workers often used it to cut through thin materials and untie knotted cables.
Although the use of this type of weapon was always heavily regulated and no blade never truly belonged to the user,
It was widely circulated under the tables, and was once hailed as the blade of the people.
It was perfect for self-preservation in less friendly natural environments, as well as for cutting paths through aquatic plants.
Legend has it that many people also discovered new uses for it during the purge.
As society advanced and more regulations were put into place, this type of blade gradually ceased to appear in public.

Although such blades were not owned by their wielders,
Those who depended on them saw them as extensions of their limbs,
And so they often inscribed their names onto the hilts and blades to avoid losing them.
The name inscribed on this blade belongs to one of Poisson's former mayors.

  1. For people who play Nilou and dont have The Key of Khaj Nisut : do get this(doesnt match her asthetics but hp% sword will increase Super-bloom damage far more than Em based swords like xiphos)

For people who play Layla : do get this since this is the only Hp% sword after The Key. Layla generally has enough er to burst off cooldown and this sword will strengthen her already strong shield

For people who play Kuki : idk if this is better over EM swords since hyperbloom damage increases with EM(correct me if iam wrong) but still a good option coz again, her base kit scales off HP and this is the only Hp% sword

    Lastly : AOT Sword lol(SASAGEYO!!!!)

    • For Layla I don’t think it’s necessary but she can use an r1 of this without problems or need for more refines, but depending on the team Harbinger of Dawn may still be better for offense (at c6)

For Kuki, she needs r3 at least to deal more hyperbloom damage with this than iron sting, but r1 could still be a nice choice since she’d heal a lot more, the er might be slightly useful and it’s not a huge loss of em

For Kirara it’s way better on a bloom team and refines do have some value in there, otherwise it’s pretty much the same as Kuki

      • I don’t know if it’s any different at C6 but Layla’s damage is pretty poor. I’d say just put that Harbinger of Dawn on another unit and give her this to maximize her shield. Her C4, which I do have, will also give more of a buff with higher HP.

        • It’s not anything op or gamebreaking but when built offensively at c6 her damage is quite solid, but you do sacrifice some shield strength for that so this is mainly doable in teams where you can freeze or have a taunt, or just if you want a dps Layla for whatever reason.
And her c4 buff is not really that good, it’s something nice she has, but it’s also not great, so the loss of that is not as important as one may think.

  2. This one looks like it’ll be the 4* sword for Chlorinde. Since it’s the hydro nation and they will be highlighting hydro related reactions, it looks like she might be an electrocharged or hyperbloom off field character since it gives EM. Assuming that she is off field based on the first 3 Fontaine 5 stars being strictly on field characters already, and if she was an on field character, it would literally just be Cyno again but female. She could possibly be 5* version of Beidou

      • The “Feeble Scholar” or the Scribe of Sumeru is a strong and strictly on field DPS so the title/position doesn’t seem to matter.

The only reasoning I would speculate that she is off field is because Raiden is an electro DPS that does a strong initial burst of damage, while Cyno does no strong initial damage but does consistent quick attacks that can last for a long time during his burst.

The two electro on field DPSes cover different DPS archetypes already, 1 as a quickswap and the other as a hypercarry. Cyno does many electro attacks for a long duration which takes the most advantage of hydro related reactions, so if Chlorinde is on field, she would just be another Cyno which I don’t think Hoyo would do considering they don’t like powercreeping their own characters.

I guess something that can warrant her being an on field DPS is if she becomes a physical character. Fiora is the “Grand Duelist” of League of Legends and has a parry ability and so does Beidou. If Chlorinde was physical, she could have a stronger parry than Beidou and use Layla for off field cryo for superconduct. That would solve the no physical character since Eula problem.

Or she could become a 4 star for whatever reason since the Fontaine trailer showed Lyney with Lynette, Navia with Charlotte, and Neuvilette with Chlorinde and 1 of each pairing could be 4 star.

All just speculation though, but an electro on field DPS just isn’t something I’m seeing Hoyo do with their character considering Raiden is an archon and Cyno was one of the poster units on the Teyvat trailer that people saved up for since the beginning

        • I think you took the feeble scholar thing a bit too literally. It was a bit a facetious self-deprecation. No idea what that has to do with you declaring the duelist will be an off-field character however.

          • Did you just not read the rest of the sentence? Sure the “Feeble Scholar” thing may be self-deprecation but his job was literally the Scribe. And a Scribe is not typically a title that people would think “Oh yeah, that’s a main on field DPS for sure”.

Just like what you’re implying with Chlorinde’s Champion Duelist title, you’re implying that she will be an on field character because she is a duelist. Also I didn’t “declare” anything and said that this was all speculation if you kept reading “All just speculation though”. And in my initial post I wrote “Assuming”, I am not “Declaring”. And I gave my reasons for assuming based off what’s known so far which is that the first 3 characters of Fontaine use the crit rate NA/CA set and are on field, and people assume Furina will use the 2nd set and will be mostly off field based off the 2nd artifact’s description.

We don’t know when Chlorinde will release, but surely there is at least 1 more off field character after Furina which would I would ASSUME to be either Navia or Chlorinde again based off that every 5* Fontaine character so far is strictly on field. Plus the other reasons like Cyno and Raiden existing already for on field DPS, meanwhile Yae is the sole off field Electro, heck some people even use Yae on field too. Both this 4* sword and the 4* claymore have the same effect so perhaps they are both off fielders

    • yep, the other weapons in the series have the same/similar effect.
the 4 star catalyst is most likely the free weapon for 4.1 since it has a different effect and design
