Faruzan deploys a polyhedron that deals AoE Anemo DMG to nearby opponents. She will also enter the Manifest Gale state.
While in the Manifest Gale state, Faruzan's next fully charged shot will consume this state and will become a Hurricane Arrow that contains high-pressure currents. This arrow deals Anemo DMG based on the DMG of a fully charged Aimed Shot from "Normal Attack: Parthian Shot."

Pressurized Collapse
The Hurricane Arrow will apply a Pressurized Collapse effect to the opponent or character hit. This effect will be removed after a short delay, creating a vortex that deals AoE Anemo DMG and pulls nearby objects and opponents in. If the Hurricane Arrow does not hit any opponent or character, it will create a Pressurized Collapse effect at its point of impact.
The vortex DMG is considered Elemental Skill DMG.

Faruzan deploys a Dazzling Polyhedron that unleashes a Whirlwind Pulse and deals AoE Anemo DMG.
While the Dazzling Polyhedron persists, it will continuously move along a triangular path. Once it reaches each corner of that triangular path, it will unleash 1 more Whirlwind Pulse.

Whirlwind Pulse
·When the Whirlwind Pulse is unleashed, it will apply Perfidious Wind's Bale to nearby opponents, decreasing their Anemo RES.
·The Whirlwind Pulse will also apply Prayerful Wind's Benefit to all nearby party members when it is unleashed, granting them an Anemo DMG Bonus.

One must have respect for the unknown wisdom that one might find hidden in ancient ruins.

TitleText
Character DetailsIf you were to open any Kshahrewar textbook, you will find Faruzan's record penned proudly upon the author page.
"Faruzan, outstanding researcher of the Akademiya, winner of the Sumeru Puzzlers' League Lifetime Achievement Award, one of the seminal scholars of Ancient Mechanics."
But if you were to talk to Haravatat students about their choices, they frown as they speak of Faruzan's current state.
"Oh, you mean her... Well, her research is... obsolete, and there's no way it'll pass review, so you might as well find another mentor."
Such reviews, as disparate as heaven and earth, arouse one's curiosity as a matter of course.
And when asked by her juniors, Madam Faruzan often wears an inscrutable look.
"Hmm? You mean to ask what happened these past hundred years? And how things came to this pass? Ah, but this is a secret most great. Come closer, and I shall tell you. Yes, yes, closer..."
—And then she gives them a good conk on the head.
"First! That curiosity of yours is best served in your studies. And secondly! You shall remember to call me 'Madam'!"
Character Story 1For many researchers at the Akademiya, Faruzan, who has been one of their number since a century prior, has always been a legendary figure.
In her brief academic career, she was able to analyze over half the ruins within Sumeru's borders, thereby greatly lowering the difficulty of various further analyses into them and their machinery.
The manuscripts and theses she left behind have laid firm foundations for all researchers who would come after, lighting the way for the countless Kshahrewar researchers' pursuit of knowledge.
Her "end" would also add several layers of mystique to her legendary life, for she would disappear under mysterious circumstances while exploring some ruins, and would never be heard from again.
Each retelling of her tale would grow ever more mysterious with regard to her disappearance.
Some claim that she came into contact with King Deshret's ancient knowledge and was secretly imprisoned within the Temple of Silence.
Others said that her intellect that had been acknowledged by the gods, and that she had been brought up to the heavens to dwell with them.
After all, people generally believed that a legendary figure should have an equally legendary end.
Thus did the tale drift further and further from the truth.
"So I made a miscalculation while solving a puzzle, and got trapped in the ruins. What? Is there a rule that says that senior researchers aren't allowed to mess up?"
* Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 2
Character Story 2What may come as a surprise to many younger researchers is that though Faruzan has made great contributions to the study of mechanics, she is in fact a member of Haravatat, which specializes in the study of languages.
Simply put, her field of study is "the analysis of the structure of and solutions to various ruin devices via the study of stone carvings and other ancient texts."
A century ago, the Akademiya's studies into Ancient Mechanics were not yet mature. As such, Faruzan's ability to prejudge the operations of such machines was indeed of great benefit to the act of exploring ruins.
However, as the number of as-yet-unexplored ruins grew fewer and fewer, and the Kshahrewar's understanding of mechanics grew more advanced, this field of research would slowly lose the luster of yesteryear.
By the time Faruzan re-entered the Akademiya a century later, no student in Haravatat could even understand her essays, and the mentors could only look at each other in dismay at the topics she would submit for study.
On the other hand, there are many students in Kshahwerar who, having graduated on the back of manuscripts she had written and hearing of her present plight, have come to persuade her to join their Darshan instead, only to see little success in that matter.
A certain researcher even went a bridge too far in their persuasion, making such claims as "in the future, Kshahrewar will be the only Darshan that can do research into machines!" and "the era of interpreting ancient texts is over!" This person wound up being chastised by an irate Faruzan for as long as it would take to sit through two entire classes.
They say that that evening, this poor researcher would be nursing some alcohol in Lambad's Tavern, aghast and humbled in equal measure.
A friend of his from Haravatat spent the whole night consoling him, while plotting in his heart to debate this old fogey and show her what for.
Alas, Lambad's Tavern would have a new inconsolable drunk the very next day.
* Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 3
Character Story 3Apart from having her topics rejected during review, Faruzan's other major headache is finding a student after her own heart.
Each time she plans a lecture at Haravatat, the students in the audience either scratch their heads or struggle not to fall asleep as they are subjected to a veritable barrage of mechanics jargon.
In a fury, Faruzan will hurl her pointer and begin lambasting her old colleagues in Haravatat for failing in their duties as teachers and training such a generation of juniors.
Her fury only grows when she realizes that the students pay more attention to her criticisms of folk from the previous century than her explanations of the principles of mechanics.
And when students who have a mind to study mechanics hear that Madam Faruzan would like them to join her, they often express gratitude initially, only to waffle and claim that they must reconsider when they realize, conflict clear on their faces, that it is Haravatat to which they must go.
Of course, Faruzan never hears these "considerations" — the next time they meet, that student will have already joined Kshahrewar.
But there was once, when Faruzan had accepted Tighnari's invitation to investigate some rainforest ruins, when she happened upon the humblest of prayers as she walked: "Oh, great Dendro Archon, please help me learn words faster!"
Those words were spoken sadly yet earnestly, and even Faruzan was moved: To think that Sumeru still played host to people with such a passion for the written word!
That voice did not seem to belong to a child who had yet to read or write, nor did it sound like a researcher of Satyavada Life. And yet this must have been a person of some skill, for normal folk would not be able to delve this deep into the forest alone. Perhaps this person might even have some experience in dealing with machines in the forest.
Following a brief moment of consideration, Faruzan concluded that this was a student of suitable age, fitting direction, and excellent quality — someone worth taking on as a disciple for sure. So decided, she revealed her presence from behind a tree.
Having thought that there was no one about, Collei squeaked in surprise, the sound echoing through the woods.
Tighnari was quick to the rescue, however, and following a stammering explanation from Collei (supplemented with interjections from Tighnari), this most major of misunderstandings was cleared up.
With time, Faruzan would reacquaint herself with this young trainee Forest Ranger and get to know her better, even bringing her delicious food every time she visits Gandharva Ville.
However, Collei has realized, to her consternation, that the resolution of the misunderstanding has only made Madam Faruzan... more eager to take her on as a student.
Surely there must be lots of Akademiya students who "respect their teachers and their teachings" and "devote themselves to diligence," no?
Perhaps even Faruzan has not realized that there is one other thing about Collei that has attracted her attention:
That despite having experienced inhuman suffering, she has nonetheless been able to gain the strength to face life.
* Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 4
Character Story 4Even Faruzan herself cannot speak very articulately about the century in which she was trapped within the ruins, for her memories of it are very foggy.
The ruins' origin? Unknown. Its location? Unknown. All she remembers is that it was related to King Deshret's civilization and filled from wall to wall with mechanisms and secret inscriptions.
The mysterious power within the ruins had kept her body in a state of stasis, knowing neither hunger nor physical fatigue, yet not wholly able to shake off mental wear.
She expended all the writing material she had on hand, yet could not translate a single line of text; used up a lifetime's worth of knowledge, yet could not unlock a single device.
Lying amidst a mountain of manuscript paper, she stared blankly at the cipher-text on the ceiling.
They mocked her, these legacies of an ancient deity — scorned her ignorance and the pettiness of the modern person.
Did all she had studied and prided herself upon, did the painstaking research done by generations of scholars truly matter so little in the face of this ancient civilization?
Faruzan got up from the ground, picked up a piece of smashed stone, and continued carving upon the tiles.
As long as there was life, there was hope. What was unknown today could be learned tomorrow. Civilizations that existed could continue to evolve. Solutions unreached by the people of today would be uncovered by those who would come after.
Even if this was to be her grave, she would leave some deductions and trial-and-error records behind to grant the next unfortunate, trapped soul some chance of escape.
This was the spirit of scholarship — this was why researchers existed in the first place.
After who knows how long, the entire floor, as far as she could touch it, had been filled with the symbols of obscure deductions.
After that indeterminate time, her memories began to grow fuzzy and her consciousness faded, and she began to mutter words none could comprehend.
And at one point — she knew not when — she finally found a way to solve the enigma.
In her addled state, she did not yet realize that the true struggle still awaited her, beyond the walls of those ruins.
* Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 5
Character Story 5Faruzan would have to recuperate for quite some time after her escape to regain consciousness.
Seeing Sumeru vastly changed from what she remembered, Faruzan almost believed that she was still within the ruins, trapped in some kind of illusion-generated device.
It was not until someone from the Akademiya came to confirm her identity using past records within Akasha and explained the changes the world had undergone during this time that Faruzan began to slowly accept that time had indeed passed.
That researcher brought her a Kshahrewar book, and as she cracked it open, she found this written on the title page:
"Much of the content in this book came from Madam Faruzan's treatises and manuscripts. We hope that her name will still be remembered by future generations of students when she returns."
As Faruzan read this text, organized by old friends of hers, she felt as if she could almost see her classmates again, talking and chatting about their futures. Yet this was already something from a century ago.
The people she knew, the people who knew her... they were all no longer here.
She had returned to Sumeru indeed, but it was as if she had drifted to some strange land instead.
Even wayfarers adrift may return to their home, but she had been left unmoored on time's ocean, and there was no returning to the past.
The poor researcher at her side was trying to pick and choose their words such that they might inquire as to what had happened to this senior from times past without touching any sore spots.
Faruzan closed her book in silence before speaking of those past events in an even tone.
"—It was just a failed experiment. Such things happen to us researchers, don't they?"
No matter the location, situation, or generation, time would never stop for Faruzan again.
* Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 6
Vairambhaka GearThis multi-purpose ruin exploration auxiliary support terminal, code-named "Vairambhaka," is one of the few projects that Faruzan was able to successfully secure funding for from the Akademiya following her return.
This device can perform escort, monster dispersal, sand-clearing, and various other tasks. As per her usual preferences, it also contains various components that can be pressed interactively to relieve boredom.
Unexpectedly, this travel essential actually wound up attracting the attention of a group of matra. They barged into her workshop without explanation and began to look the Vairambhaka up and down.
Upon discovering its many seemingly useless components, their suspicions were aroused further, and ignoring Faruzan's protests that they "were just for stress relief," they planned on taking her latest work apart to examine it carefully.
Fortunately, the General Mahamatra, Cyno, arrived in time to stop them.
As it turned out, they suspected that Faruzan had been reticent about her mysterious disappearance on account of some nefarious secret.
They also believed that she had refused to join Kshahrewar so that she could use Haravatat's lack of expertise in mechanics to build something dangerous.
After all, few are the researchers who have not been seduced by the ominous knowledge that King Deshret's civilization had gained access to. As such, they came flocking the moment they heard that Faruzan was making some machine, as if to fight some terrible foe.
Cyno, armed with records related with Faruzan, was able to dispel their doubts one by one, before apologizing to Faruzan for his subordinates' trespass, leaving one of them to help clear up the mess.
Faruzan, who was just suffering from a lack of manpower right at that moment, was quite satisfied indeed with that arrangement. Quite liking this General Mahamatra's style, she invited Cyno to give this new machine a name.
Cyno thought for a moment before saying that since it could stir up strong winds and had a connection with the matra, she could call it the "Great Vayuvyastra."
Faruzan's puzzlement at that could easily rival that which she had shown in the ruins belonging to King Deshret.
Fortunately, one of the matra came to her rescue, mentioning that Kshahrewar already possessed a machine with the same name, thus saving them all what would come if she were to inquire about the "deeper meaning" behind such a name.
Later, having done her own independent study into how that name was formed, Faruzan would come up with her own name for her newest work — and thus, the Vairambhaka Gear was born.

VisionAlthough she has forgotten how she solved that puzzle, Faruzan does have some vague impression about what happened to her as she left the ruins.
The first thing she felt was light, stinging her eyes till they shut and causing her to stagger back a little.
It was then followed by wind, whipping about her face and flowing across her shoulders like a searing, welcoming kiss.
Her eyes were closed, and yet she felt that she could see everything, and following the wind she took one step, and then another, toward newfound freedom after a century of being lost.
Such a long period of time would have changed the environment and eroded her memory, and she might have failed to find the way home.
Yet she followed the wind's guidance even in her semi-conscious state, and it led her swaying through the wilds, avoiding monsters and hazardous areas alike, until she was assaulted by a familiar yet foreign sensation.
As she collapsed, her stomach began to grumble.
"Ah... Is that hunger? It's been a while, hasn't it..."
She had solved the machine, escaped the ruins, but at the end, she had forgotten the most primal of needs!
The wind died down, and unable to continue on, Faruzan collapsed, falling into a deep sleep."
...
A sudden wind whipped about a merchant caravan traversing the lands at a leisurely pace, getting into one Sumpter Beast's eyes, causing it to turn away and stop advancing.
The merchant was about to pull it back into line, only to notice something glittering in the distance.
"Hey, keep up with the group! What are you looking at, anyway? Treasure?"
"No, wait... That looks like a person over there, lying on the ground!"
And in the distance, a Vision shone brightly at the side of an unconscious Faruzan.

  1. They should change her ascension stat bonus to energy recharge, because if the anemo atk buff is calculated from base atk, then her current ascension stat bonus is useless.

    • Gorou’s Geo DMG bonus ascension isn’t all that helpful either. He could have ascended with DEF (C4 utility) or Energy Recharge for more relevance. So I doubt they’ll make changes to Faruzan.

  2. Reminder to everyone to say NO to poorly designed stat stick units that do nothing but buff certain niche characters and need their C6 to make them even relevant like Gorou, Sara, and especially Fraudzan.

Say YES to universal units that can buff/amplify most on-field characters like Bennett, Xingqiu, Fischl, Xiangling, and Kazuha!

        • To be fair Ayaka is actually somewhat niche. Sure, you could use her outside Freeze, but her Burst is far reliable against Frozen enemies. Not to mention free Crit Rate from BS set. So Ayaka is a strange universal-niche hybrid. lol

          • @She-is-ugly @The Fraudzan
Time for meming is stopped. It’s serious time

I dont think these chars are poorly designed despite of being niche (except Sara lol she needs C6, others C2 or even C0 is enough). As long as these chars are mandatory in or give massive upgrades to certain teams (their niches), ill welcome them. Every chars is a big YES if u enjoy them enough.

To prevent further ad hominem attack, ive been enjoying Sara and Shenhe (niche chars), and u can say Ayaka, who is somewhat niche for being only effectively able to be played in freeze comp. Xiangling, Xingqiu and even Raiden C2 lose their favors to me in some abyss. These may seem not “niche char enjoyers” for u, but u r supposed to prove my point in the meme wrong, not to use fallacy! This is the point of the 2nd meme

At the end of the day I appreciate ur point, @The Fraudzan. U may dislike niche chars and consider them “poorly designed” and even “fraudulent”. U can choose to ignore my suggestion which is to enjoy them. And this is the 1st meme’s point

    • I think specific chars are made to play specific teams and change from you generic support you always play. Gorou has no equivalent for Itto and Albedo (Yunjin can do the trick for Noelle if Gorou is under C6), Sara (only C6 tho) has no equivalent for electro… For me it’s long time or high investement chars for those who wanna enjoy their specific DPS. And a mean to make non-amplify reaction a better concurrent to them.

You talk about generic support but aside of Bennett who boost generic attack stat for everyone, XQ is Vape enabler, XL is Melt enabler (support-wise), Kazuha buff any element with Pyro, Cryo and Hydro. Everything is kinda related to amplify reactions. Fischl is an exception because Electro compensate with high multipliers (Raiden, Beidou) and now Dendro is a thing and makes electro awesome (Fischl, Yae aggravate, Shinobu Hyperbloom). Geo and Anemo don’t have amplify reactions. And Anemo DPS don’t benefit a lot from swirls.

So. How do you buff Geo and Anemo DPS if not with dedicated OP support ?
I know it’s frustrating but they don’t have a lot of options.

    • what Fischl is doing in that list, she can battery Beidou and now abuse dendro a bit, that’s all. She doesnt even have i-frame on her burst. Please stop selling this okayish character, any attempt to use her with top meta characters ends up in drastic dps loss and much worse clear times. Yes, yes, yes, there are some cycles, where assuming you have newbie level account somehow full of C6 4* and no resources to build them, in that cycle her “f2p” comp was shining versus other underinvested comps. Who cares, game is 2 years old and majority has abundance of resources and strong supports on account.

I bet Faruzan >> Fischl team dps wise.

      • why are comparing two completely different characters lol, fischl is more of a sub dps character while faruzan is a dedicated support. Also fischl is currently one of the best electro characters in the game (used in taser teams, broken aggravate teams, very good electro battery, she can fit in any dendro team currently besides bloom or burgeon). She’s very versatile as an electro sub dps, to the point where you can 36 star the abyss with her oz jointed charged attack mechanic that everyone ignores. Plus the fact that she doesnt i-frame with her burst isnt a surprise, yae can’t i-frame with her skill, even other characters who perform special fast moving attacks are till prone to interuption. The fact u even mentioned this means youre playing fischl wrong lol, her burst is good for support not because you can quickly dodge things with it, its because it gives her very high oz uptime.

        • To call somebody copium, when Fischl is definition of copium herself, right from 1.0 where “smartass” guys were promoting her until reality slapped them in the face with usage rate/speedruns. Then they go quiet until another showcase friendly abyss appears, to dig Fischl/Beidou out of the bench and start selling this 3rd tier “meta” called tazer/fireworks/sukokomon/whatever to clueless/newbs again, while experienced players just shake their heads at those slow and braindead E/Q/NA mash showcases.

Fischl is unit for posers, to create team full of 4* C6R5 on their old fat account, carry them by Benny/XQ and pretend they are playing smart (as they dont need 5*) and team is good for newbs.. but newbs dont have all those weapons and constellations needed for 4* teams to work properly, newbs dont have enough resin to build whole team, they can only stick to strong 5* they got and build around them.

          • hey, dude, move over, i want to sit under the bridge too. Is it fun with fischl, she summon her bird and go in hell. One crow shoots above half a million. Faruzan is generally top, she put her cube, which jiggle jiggly on the floor of the map goes back and forth, does not beat anyone, but it is necessary. It is necessary to sit under the bridge and not some cubes to beat there.

          • whoa dude
you have no arguments = you agree that Fischl is mid-tier char for posers to continue selling outdated nonsense about investment costs and crying about how bad most 5* are

I can bet 100$, that Wanderer with C6 Faruzan will outdps any “meta” C6 Fischl’s team

          • “E/Q/NA mash showcases.” —> You’re forgetting CA btw.

^^^ But only ranged Charged Attack gameplay with characters like Ganyu is acceptable to you? Or jump-cancel spam with Hu Tao over and over? Let’s not forget Zhongli who legit allows teams to never need the dash/dodge button. rofl

And If you think 4-star teams need C6R5 then you really are bad at the game. lol

      • Fischl is an universal battery dealing good damage already without C6. Dendro changed her from good char to monster char. She can carry an abyss team by herself now. She is easy to use and require little field time. And Burst have iframe IIRC, just a very little time. She can be slot in a lot of comp while still being good.

So I don’t understand your point. Slot Faruzan in top DPS meta and tell me if she isn’t a DPS loss ? Characters all have team they are better for. Fazuzan will be strong with anemo DPS, Fischl is already strong in Dendro, Taser and overvape comps.

        • Fischl is ok, but she is nowhere near to Bennett/XQ/XL/Kazu or other top characters.
I have her level 85 with lvl12 Oz and R5 Stringless, each time I try one of those “monstrous comps”, dps is just strictly worse then Freeze/International/Raiden carry/Vape/Melt.
And her field time requirements arent that small, you need to swap back each 12 seconds to maintain Oz. Her aggravates are mediocre, I tested all electro personally using same supports and comparable weapons/artefacts, the only one who really got serious buff from this reaction is Keqing. Fischl has bad crit stats and meh DMG% with Stringless (and even worse with Elegy) so even if she procs aggravate often, those aggravates arent that impactful. The only case where she starts doing something is buffing her with full EM Kazu… but given that Kazu is even more contested support then Bennett, using him with Fischl is against “meta”. Meta is frontloaded damage and timing burst i-frames to avoid serious hits without spending time on dodging them. Fischl doesnt help with those.

          • Show us documentation of your testing, including builds, team compositions, clear times, and the enemies you fought. Video footage would be appreciated too.

          • Crit stat are the same for all char without a crit ascension stat. If you want more crit stats, go Aqua Simulacra, Polar star, Skyward Harp, Blackcliff or Viridescent hunt. Crit ascension stat don’t define the power of a char, Raiden has an ER ascension stat and her BiS too.

She procs aggravate faster than anyone while being of field, her passive has a 0.5 sec cooldown, and you can go with another Aggravate DPS like Keqing or Cyno. She isn’t a DPS loss, she apply Electro faster than Nahida apply dendro to keep electro swirlable by anemo chars.

          • crit stats arent the same because like you said ascension stat plus passives and constellations. Same goes for DMG% and EM.
Fischl doesnt have any of those in-built, which makes building her for aggravate pretty hard as it requires simultaneously high EM, good crits and DMG%. Stringless R5 is pretty OP weapon in that regard giving her lots of EM and DMG%, but alas crit will be lacking.

Fischl A4 is disgustingly OP in theory, but in practice it wont proc each 0.5 seconds non stop because there wont be such amount of electro reactions for full Oz duration in aggravate team. In aoe situations it will proc more often but then no-icd A4 advantage will become less impactful (as other damage sources with icd will have that icd virtually decreased because it is icd per target), but Fischl herself is bad at aoe, so you can see anti-synergie here.

Fischl’s battery capabilities are wasted on Keqing or Raiden aggravate carries. Ok, maybe she is really meta for Cyno, cant say I dont have him.

            To summarize:
            – many units have in-built crits, DMG% or EM needed for aggravate, while Fischl dont
            – nature of her A4 makes it more effective in aoe, while Fischl base damage is single target oriented
            – aggravate comps other then Cyno dont need batteries that much as relevant electro units generate enough energy themselves + electro resonance gives even more

          • Any character that doesn’t ascend with Crit Rate/DMG has the same ‘lacking crit’ issue as Fischl. Why do you single her out like she’s the only one? I’d like to see you get a 70/200 ratio on a Xiangling with 4-star Polearm.

And the “many” Aggravate characters you say that ascend with Crit stats are all 5-stars (Duh). And of the EM ascending Electro character, Lisa is the only one.

But why are you only focusing on Aggravate? I’ve seen people say that even Cyno performs better in Hyperbloom type teams. However, people type all sorts of stuff and never provide their own vids and whatnot to demonstrate their point anyway. Just essays and summaries.

    • This game is going to eventually have like 100+ characters. They all cannot be universal units like Xingqiu that can deal great damage, enable their respective element with amazing uptime and also provide defensive and other offensive support at the same time. Niche units are what make specific team comps interesting in the long run. You could play Raiden national for the next 5 years, or you could also attempt to have fun once in your life by switching things up.

It’s far more entertaining for them to hype, trash, and troll others about the units available “here and now.” I agree with you, but I wonder what kinds of things people will be saying about the meta several years from now and whether there will be a major shift at all.

  3. So I feel that Mihoyo is trying hard to fine tune Faruzan so she isn’t overpowered like those 5 launch 4* characters we know about, yet not be disappointing like many of the 4* units that have come out recently.

We all know Faruzan is primarily seen as an support for Anemo main DPS characters (I’m thinking primary Xiao, Wanderer, and Heizou). What I am most excited about is that she may actually be a good main DPS unit herself, provided she is at least at C1.

All indications I am seeing from how her kit is described is that she is able to buff herself as well as her allies, which make up for her lackluster stats. With a Sacrificial Bow (preferably at R5 but could also work at lower refinements) and the new Desert Pavilion Chronicle artifact set, she could be set basically be a strange hybrid of Ganyu and Tighnari. Go with her burst first, and then a regular charged shot to activate the artifact set’s 4 piece passive for the 40% damage buff, then her skill, and the do the two of fast enhanced gale charged shots. As the Pressurized Collapse is considered elemental skill damage, that should allow it to proc the skill cooldown reset of the Sacrificial Bow, allowing her to get 2 more fast gale charged shots off before swapping her out.

Of course additional constellations will help her out. C2 will help with uptime on her burst, although it would be the least useful of her constellations for a main DPS build. C3 will buff her skill damage from the pressurized collapse, C4 will allow her to partially self battery herself with her charged shots, C5 will mainly give her a better anemo skill buff and more direct damage from the burst, and her C6 would make her charged attacks even stronger with the bonus crit damage plus add 2 more Pressurized Collapses during her part of the rotation if done right.

Right I feel that not only will Faruzan be the best 4* character from Sumeru (superseding Layla who I feel currently has that role) she may actually end being (at C6) the best post launch 4* character since Diona’s release.

Being a viable main DPS is something that none of the other 4* niche supports can really do, and helps to make her a more valuable pull compared to them, and most other 4* characters for that matter.

The only issue I really have with Faruzan is that she looks to be quite underwhelming at C0. I feel she really needs at least C1 in order to be viable as a main DPS build, and I feel at minimum her C2 is needed if you want to make the most of her burst if she is being used as an anemo buffer. Of course, her C6 seems quite strong, may be among the best C6s in the game for 4*s at least.

We still need to wait if Mihoyo will make any other changes to her and of course test her out once she is out in 3.3 to really judge her power level.

        • That’s a huge misconception. Gorou doesn’t need a battery. He can (and should) be built as a battery. Since Gorou’s buff is completely independent of his own stats, you can just toss ER into every possible segment of his build. Favonious Warbow, Exile set: ER sands and ER subtats. He can Burst off CD easily. That gives 100% Burst uptime – even with only him and Itto on the team, so two flex spots.

Gorou’s C4 is kinda like Xingiu’s Rainswords (or even full EM Shinobu’s Grass Ring) in that’s it’s just a bit of healing for chip damage. The only time someone might opt to put some extra DEF on Gorou is if you’re running mono-Geo against Rift Hounds. But even then, a Prototype Amber Ningguang in a flex spot can get that healing done too.

    • Not sure if you’ve read his kit or anything, but…
The Wander has no off-field, Damage-Over-Time abilities. His Elemental Skill requires field time to execute (through Normal and Charged attacks), and his Elemental Burst is a quick instance of damage.

At the most, you could use him as a quick-swap Burst DPS – which is way worse in terms of overall damage output in comparison to using all parts of his kit in a proper team.

Off-field DPS (Damage Per Second) means that a character is providing sustained Elemental Damage over time while they are not on the field. Sucrose can do that (with her Elemental Burst). The Wanderer can’t.

  5. Each time I read negative comments about a character’s kit being underwhelming and such, I’m able to remind myself that these critics are focusing on just Spiral Abyss. The outside content doesn’t matter. Regardless, I’m definitely not about to defend how the recent 4* characters are basically akin to being unfinished, but now it is the time to get over it, I suppose. It’s not like they’re going to add endgame content at this point.

Here’s hoping that they don’t unleash this all-out nerfage to the likes of our superstitious adventurer, nor overly-energetic chef, nor our snide reader of novels.
