| Character Details | Alchemy is an ancient art, and many of its secrets have been lost to history. The few commonly known alchemy techniques of today are but enough to put some broken odds and ends together, saving you the money you would have otherwise spent on glue. "Nay, alchemy is not so ignoble an art!" Or so most alchemists would protest. But as far as the average citizen of Mondstadt was concerned, that was alchemy. At least until the day Albedo suddenly appeared and decided to stay in Mondstadt. This young man displayed the true prowess of alchemy to all, bringing with him a massive corpus of wisdom that even the Sumeru Akademiya did not possess. "The universe is heaven reversed, and the earth is a dream lost to time. This is dust, the most basic form of complex life." As if to provide evidence for this claim, Albedo lifted the burnt ash of the flower that once grew atop a Dendro Slime's head. Seconds later, a Cecilia sprouted forth from the ash in his hand. "And this... is new life." |
| Character Story 1 | Albedo has a very important job within the Knights of Favonius but does not often appear in public. Still, he does not have the strange and eccentric temper that people tend to assume of academics. In fact, he is earnest in all his dealings. He is, however, of the persuasion that it requires more energy to maintain relationships established on excessive enthusiasm. As a result, Albedo's equivalent of friendship involves maintaining an appropriate degree of distance. On days when he shuts himself away in his laboratory to focus on his work, or heads out into the wild to gather materials, no one in Mondstadt will be able to find him. Yet Albedo's tendency to avoid social interactions does not make him a cold-hearted person. He delights in giving guidance to his assistants, Timaeus and Sucrose. He finds pleasure in giving his sketches to the citizens of Mondstadt. Yet he cannot help but feel sincere disappointment that Lisa, for all her great talents, has chosen to remain a mere Librarian. * Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 2 |
| Character Story 2 | "Albedo got into Mondstadt because of his master's recommendation letter." This statement is technically true. But Monstadt's gates are open to everyone, and he would have been quite welcome even without the recommendation letter. In fact, Albedo's life in Mondstadt may even have been more comfortable without it. This is because the recipient of the letter was the famed travel writer, Alice, an old friend of Albedo's master, Rhinedottir. After receiving the letter, Alice considered its requests. "So, Rhine said that you'll need a laboratory... And not one of a size that a civilian could build, either. Hmm... I know!" And just like that, she threw him into the Knights of Favonius. The work of the Knights was actually quite easy for Albedo, requiring only five percent of his energy. The rest of his energy could be spent on experiments, with the Knights' full range of apparatus at his disposal, he thought. And yet... Alice has a daughter, named Klee. Yes, "that" Klee. "We'll be a family from now on, treat her like a real younger sister!" From that day forth, cleaning up after Klee would come to take up most of Albedo's remaining energy... * Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 3 |
| Character Story 3 | Albedo has no memory of any blood relations. From as far back as he can remember, he was already adventuring deep within domains with his master. Of course, Miss Alice, the Knights of Favonius, and that traveler who had a sense of the stellar depths about them... They are all important people. And yet his master is unquestionably the most special to him. For Albedo, she is his only kin. She was a cold and strict woman who raised him and taught him the secrets of alchemy. "The universe is the sable essence of the true starry sky... Earth is the accumulated memory of time and being... Chalk: that is you. Soil is where alchemy derives its name, and is the basis of all life. And this..." She demonstrated her technique before him as a huge life form burst from its culture tank in a shower of shattered fragments. "...This is new birth." * Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 4 |
| Character Story 4 | Albedo once led a simple and content existence. There was no need for him to contemplate anything. Life was uneventful, its meaning consisted of nothing more than accompanying his teacher, doing what she asked of him, and meeting her expectations. But one day, deep in the heart of a dungeon, master and apprentice discovered an artifact known as The Heart of Naberius. And with that, his master disappeared, leaving naught but a note, a recommendation letter, and a classical text behind. Upon the note was written: "Albedo, go to Mondstadt. Find my old friend, Alice, and give her the recommendation letter. Then, complete your final assignment." The classical text was one of the last extant manuscripts of the Opus Magnum from his master's collection. If one were to push the definition a little, she had left him another gift — the title of Kreideprinz, and with it, a written acknowledgment that she had nothing further to teach him. In the past, Albedo's assignments had always been very difficult. He had always believed wholeheartedly that his master would make good on her threat to leave him, should he fail. But this assignment she had left to him was far too hard, far beyond the limit of his abilities. Did this mean, then, that he was fated to never complete it, and thus never see his master again? "Your final assignment: show me the truth and the meaning of this world." * Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 5 |
| Character Story 5 | The alchemy that Albedo commands is wholly different from any of the arts practiced in the Seven Nations of Teyvat. Its lineage can be traced back to the nation of Khaenri'ah. Khaenri'ah was an underground realm, with precious few natural fauna. As such, its alchemy focused more heavily on the creation of life. This art of creation was known as "The Art of Khemia." Albedo had learned of this in his youth from reading his master's notes. The next stage after "soil" is "chalk," which was also something his master had mentioned. "Chalk is the spotless soil, and was used to make primordial man." Now, Albedo understands alchemy in far greater depth than he did in the beginning, and his knowledge on the subject is far more comprehensive. "From soil was birthed chalk." The profundity of this statement is well understood by Albedo now. Such ineffable secrets are bound up with his fond memories of his master. She was not his birth mother, but there is no doubt that his life stems from her. "I hope this isn't just wishful thinking, but... when parents speak to their children about 'the meaning of this world'... surely they just mean the pursuit of a happy life?" From time to time, Albedo finds himself musing on this sentiment. * Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 6 |
| Albedo's Artwork | Albedo's interest in drawing and painting began back in the days of traveling with his master. At first, he would simply illustrate his notes with basic sketches. But he soon noticed that the process of rendering things in great detail helped him to intimately understand their physical makeup, which was of great utility to his alchemical studies. Additionally, it also allowed him to enter into a pleasant state of clarity, in which he needed only to focus on observation and creating his artwork, and nothing else. Eventually, Albedo became a master artist without ever having received formal tuition. When strolling through Mondstadt, he enjoys sketching and painting all manner of living things, but particularly people in moments of joy. Sometimes, he even gifts his artwork to his unsuspecting models, believing that when a work of art captures a transient moment of enjoyment, it is something worth treasuring. Albedo continued to refine his skills in this manner, going from strength to strength — until one day, when he was taken aback by illustrations from Inazuma. How was it that drawings of such generality could possess such narrative power? Amazed, he decided to give it a go himself. ...Eventually, after collaborating with a certain novelist by the name of Xingqiu, "A Legend of Sword" was printed and published. Unfortunately, it received lukewarm reviews, being lambasted as "a dictionary with divine illustrations." * Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 4 |
| Vision | Gaining a Vision came as no great surprise to Albedo. When he received it, he gave it a single glance before continuing to engross himself in his work. He barely felt any wave of emotion at all, as if this was something to be taken for granted. As far as he is concerned, his Vision is merely a tool with which he can more conveniently conduct his research. What truly sparks joy within him is turning the unknown into the known. One day, he will understand all there is to know about this world — and Visions are no exception. * Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 6 |

1 year later, I almost feel i came from future
I’m sorry, is this saying that to gain the maximum DMG bonus, Albedo should have 9000DEF?! IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?! If so, how, because I’d like to maximize this buff.
“Creating a Solar Isotoma will enhance DMG dealt with Normal Attacks, Charged Attacks, Plunging Attacks, Elemental Skills, and Elemental Bursts by any Magic character in the party and within range by 4% for every 1,000 DEF Albedo has for 20s. The maximum DMG bonus that can be gained this way is 36%.”
Lev 100 def: 938
from artifacts: 58×3 = 174%
from substats: variable, but let’s say without much effort 10% from plume and flower, so total = 194%
from husk set: 30% + 24% with stacks, so total = 248
Partial: 938 + 248% = 3264 flat def
albedo’s weap: 69% def
xilonen’s: 82 + 8%x2 stacks = 98% def
partial 2 with xilonen’s
938 + (248+98%) = 4183 flat def
but
1) you’ll likely want crit rate cirlet
2) you don’t have xilonen’s and maybe even cinnabar
3) you won’t level him to 100
4) and maybe you don’t even have a good husk set
so let’s say 876 def + 58×2% = not even 2000, as the “average” albedo
It was not created with the intent of maxing out the buff, you should typically end around 3000, which becomes much easier with his c1 from the con selector, and he should be giving the team around ~12% damage bonus. Where the passive is meant to shine is in the damage buff for witch characters, like Klee and Durin, who get another 30% when Albedo reaches 3000 def.
This goes off of the assumption that the first part of the passive with the smaller buff is meant to be team wide, and only the larger one is magic characters only. This is the assumption that I have seen many people making since the current wording of the passive doesn’t make sense, and this is what was stated in previous translations.
Expect ~12% to team and additional ~30% to the other magic characters in party.
this is definitely a translation error. in chinese and my language version, maximum DMG bonus is only 12%
I hope they change the limitation of his Damage buff to all characters and not only Magic characters.
my understanding is that the first part of that passive, the smaller one, is team wide and the second part is added don for magic characters, so at 3k def he gives 12% teamwide and 42% to magic chars
this guys srsly need a zenkai…
I know hoyo is very modest in resources, and they can’t afford to hire people to rework on kit. So why not using GPT instead? is it difficult?
or do you want to make us believe it’s not good for their sales, if still a old chara can sell well because of revamp of his kit? now only hopeless fans could summon him, especially considering chiori… but instead of a weaker chiori make just a sidegrade chiori, complementar ideally, and we’r e talking about something very good fo both sides…
const 1
Original: Transient Blossoms generated by Abiogenesis: Solar Isotoma regenerate 1.2 Energy for Albedo.
Modified:
Transient Blossoms generated by Abiogenesis: Solar Isotoma regenerate 2 Energy for Albedo and increase Energy Recharge for all party members by 10% for 6 seconds (stackable up to 2 times). This makes Albedo a more efficient battery for the team, while also supporting the energy regeneration of others.
const 2
Original: Transient Blossoms grant Fatal Reckoning, increasing the damage of Tectonic Tide and Fatal Blossoms by 30% of Albedo’s DEF, stackable up to 4 times.
Modified:
Transient Blossoms generated by Abiogenesis: Solar Isotoma grant Fatal Reckoning for 30 seconds:
· Consuming Fatal Reckoning with Rite of Progeniture: Tectonic Tide increases the damage of Fatal Blossoms and Tectonic Tide by 40% of Albedo’s DEF and applies a 20% reduction in Physical or Elemental Resistance (based on the damage type) for 8 seconds.
Increasing the DEF scaling and adding a resistance shred makes this constellation a powerful strategic tool for both physical and elemental DPS.
const 3
Original: Increases the level of Abiogenesis: Solar Isotoma by 3.
Modified:
In addition to increasing the level of Abiogenesis: Solar Isotoma by 3, the field generated by Solar Isotoma increases the critical rate of all characters within the field by 10%.
This enhances Albedo’s support role for crit-dependent DPS characters, making the field more beneficial.
const 4
Original: Increases Plunging Attack DMG by 30% for active party members within the field of Solar Isotoma.
Modified:
Increases Normal, Charged Plunging Attack DMG and Normal Attack DMG by 30% for all party members within the field of Solar Isotoma. Additionally, each time a Plunging Attack deals damage, it regenerates a small amount of Energy for the character (0.5 Energy, with a limit of 1.5s).
This encourages a more aggressive playstyle and makes the buff useful in a broader range of scenarios.
const 5
Original: Increases the level of Rite of Progeniture: Tectonic Tide by 3.
Modified:
In addition to increasing the level by 3, each hit from Rite of Progeniture: Tectonic Tide has a 50% chance to deal an additional 20% Geo DMG and 33% to deal 20% Crit Damage.
This adds extra burst potential to his Elemental Burst, making him a more potent sub-DPS.
const 6
Original: Increases DMG dealt by active characters within Solar Isotoma’s field by 17% if they are shielded by a Crystallize shield.
Modified:
Increases DMG dealt by active characters within the field of Solar Isotoma by 25%, and grants them a 20% DEF bonus when shielded by a Crystallize shield. Additionally, each Crystallize reaction restores 2% of the maximum Energy of Albedo and the party members (up to once every 3 seconds). When Albedo reaches 100% energy though this method, his next burst deals 200% or its original damage.
Boosting both DMG and energy regeneration improves team survivability and versatility, making him a top-tier support.
Keep dreaming boy, hoyo is too stupid to do this
we can just use private servers and modify the rest as possibile…
Hoyo had reviewed your submission and has approved it. Look forward to upgraded Albedo soon.
I wonder what kind of Super Anus IQ Mensa Guy meditated his kit.
albedo came out when Geo, like today, had no reaction and despite this hoyo guy decided to give him EM passive
like that
random
and not happy enough, they also have an implicit rule to don’t change shit old kitsw
so what sword they’ll put in his next banner? he’s the only chara who doesnt have his own 5star one (what a joke, and why?)… i wonder if they’ll ever make one a day
and if so, if they do it well and not a shit one
they never rework crap constellations, so it’ll be great if they make a weapon wich scales off defense but converts it into atk, or whatever. The fact his burst is totally useless, and especially now if you build him with golden troupe and double defense, is really absurd. He needs crit dmg and elemental damage bonus, and considering his stupid split kit, he’d be better with 542 atk and 88 dmg. As passive 1, elemental dmg, and passive 2 def% (like husk set). Overall more or less equal to cinnabar, but at least it finally boosts his non existent burst
keep dreaming boy..
Every element is represented in the Standard/consolation 5-star pool, except Geo. Why is there still no 5-star Geo unit?
Imo, Albedo would have been a good choice for the Standard pool. He’s accessible to build, versatile, and well balanced.
crit ascension 5star unit, who can access to crit weapons also, are unfortunately much better
with his sword he’s very strong, but the fact you have to build his crit with artifacts only is a huge shit, period.
we can’t spend months on a domain to get a decently balanced set
maybe you can do it at the beginning, when you’re new and excited for the game, but after years you become tired – unless you’re super obsessed or similar
me personally, after 2 yeras, im definitely full of this shit
i like playing the game, but i started to just switch builds and stop
farming is a tumor
How the f can i lose again on albedo banner$%@%#$Y^$YEYRE%&%&^%Y#Y$SE!@%@#%$#Y
While stupid Itto squeezes all the juices out of your pocket. This guy only needs c2 to tear apart enemies, with a flat face and without even pressing buttons.
until his flower got flattened by enemies to uselessness lol
Agree !
This is proof that you don’t need strong characters to tear apart enemies.
