Windbound ExecutionWindbound Execution
Manifest the true essence of Favonius Bladework with absolute power. Produces different effects depending on whether the skill is Tapped or Held.

Tap
Leap forward and slash in one fluid motion, dealing AoE Anemo DMG and switching to Sturm und Drang mode.
While in Sturm und Drang, Varka's Normal Attack DMG is increased, and he cannot perform Plunging Attacks. Also, when performing Normal or Charged Attacks, Varka's dual-wielded claymores will deal corresponding Elemental DMG based on the Elemental Types of the characters in the party, respectively. This Elemental DMG cannot be overridden by infusions.
Additionally, when in Sturm und Drang, if there are Pyro, Hydro, Electro or Cryo characters in the party, Varka's Elemental Skill Windbound Execution will be converted to the special Elemental Skill, Four Winds' Ascension, dealing corresponding Elemental DMG and Anemo DMG. Additionally, Varka can also expend uses for the special Elemental Skill Four Winds' Ascension to perform a special Charged Attack, Azure Devour, that does not consume stamina to deal corresponding Elemental DMG and Anemo DMG.

Hold
After charging for a while, leap forward. The duration of the charge will increase the distance of the leap.

  1. Seems like most CCs that cover leaks, mentioned that Varka is not looking great or good. I find it odd that his best team involves Bina and Ineffa (referring to TGS’s video) and not durin/venti/ben. I mean surely some beta buffs right?

  2. Why another Anemo user? Since he uses a Claymore, how about making him the 2nd Hydro Claymore character in the entire game, instead of multiple of the other types?

    • He’s only the second anemo calymore user as it is, with the first being Sayu, who no one has ever used for any reason. I get wanting a hydro claymore that is actually good and/or cool, but this is also a niche that needs filling. Also, hydro really does not suit him. Anemo and cryo are the elements that make sense for him, being the Knight of Boreas and all.

  3. Look at all the modifiers on his transformed skill and charge attacks??? Combined with his c1, c2 and c6 and their ridiculous synergy.. he will be a op whale unit.

    skill->skill2(+800% c2)->ca(+800%c2)->skill2(+800% c2)->ca(+800% c2)->skill2(+800% c2)->ca(+800%c2)

Until his infusion is over. If these numbers are right, his burst window damage is going to be bonkers

  4. …Varka’s kit seems a little bad. Hopefully they ACTUALLY buff something about Varka’s kit, including scalings and more self buffs. Also, with the way his kit isn’t an essay, that usually means bad kit

  5. I know the passive means we should look for only two elements on teams, but won’t some reactions (or even most good supports) be stronger then the bonus for staying within this team archetype? Like, theres is only a 80% difference from the first buff.

I guess Durin is probably his best teammate, and that would limit even further the options for double elements teams.

Like for double anemo we could go:
    – Varka + Faruzan(c6) + Durin + Citlali
    – Varka + Faruzan(c6) + Durin + Mona (or Xingqiu/Yelan)
    – Varka + Jean(C4) + Durin + Furina

Was thinking about above options because of the anemo res shred, or would Sucrose(buff reaction)/Kazuha(buff element) work better then focusing on the anemo part of the damage? (i’m not really a calcs guy).

For other teams that I think would be stronger then the limited two elements teams (but i’m not really a fan of Bennet’s circle impact):
    – Varka + Durin + Mona + Xingqiu/Yelan
    – Varka + Durin + double cryo
    – Varka + Durin + Bennet + Citlali (or Rosaria/Kaeya)
    – Varka + Durin + Bennet + Xingqiu/Yelan
    – Varka + Durin + Bennet + Fichl

Like within the limited team archetype, what viable teams do we have? And is any of them stronger then the above teams?
    – Varka + Anemo + Durin + Bennet (is Bennet is the only viable option as the second pyro?)
    – Varka + Anemo + Mona + Yelan/Xingqiu
    – Varka + Jean(C4) + Yelan/Xingqiu + Furina (no Hexerei buff)
    – Varka + Anemo + Shenhe + Chongyun(CD buff + ice res shred) (no Hexerei buff since Sucrose not worth without reactions)

Double electro doesn’t seems viable to me, maybe Iansan+Fichl (and I guess some TF CD reduction shenanigans could be fun to try lol)

Sorry for the long post, but I’m really excited for Varka, it’s been so long lol

    • Regarding the alternative for Bennet. Xiangiling might be better. Swirl doesn´t scale with ATK and can´t crit so Bennet might not be as uncontested as he would be for other teams. I think Xianling might be better since she shreds pyro and gives a pyro dmg bonus. Dunno if the maths checks out but I feel like Double Anemo and Double Pyro with Durin might be his best team.

Shame that Albedo really gets screwed here.

      • Yeah, was thinking about Albedo but really can’t fit him on Varka’s best teams, though I’m definitely gonna try a meme build with Varka on Verdict (Navia’s weapon) Durin and Albedo

      • Sorry, but Varka doesn’t really use dispersion damage. He uses dispersion to increase his personal damage, and therefore Bennett is much more interesting than anyone else. Add to that the fact that he can also deal pyro damage, and Bennett’s C6 becomes just as interesting. In my opinion, his best team would be Durin, Varka, Kazuha, and Bennett, even though Kazuha is debatable, I think.
Furthermore, if you pair Durin with Xiangling, both lowering pyro resistance, their respective debuffs become much less interesting, especially if you add a VV which will inevitably be present via the second anemo.

    • I personally think that Venti is the perfect partner for Varka, now that Venti is also buff
      (Hexerei: Secret Rite
While the Stormeye created by the Elemental Burst Wind’s Grand Ode is active, for 4s after a nearby active character triggers a Swirl reaction, that character’s DMG is increased by 50%, and Venti’s Stormeye deals 135% of its original DMG.)
So that the best team for Varka is Varka + Venti + Bennett/Mavuika/Xiangling/Klee(c2) + Durin

      • No joke here, I think Ifa is actually better. Not to his own merit, but solely for Cinder City and TTDS. Since Durin can’t trigger swirl, he won’t get the 50% damage bonus buff. Meanwhile, Ifa would give a 40% damage buff across the board, including to both Varka’s pyro damage and anemo damage. TTDS also gives Varka a nice 48% ATK buff with decent uptime.

    • I’m guessing not. His passive has the same wording as Skirk, Neuvi, and Furina. Basically, this isn’t just 80% damage bonus, it’s an increase that is separate in the equation. That 80% difference is even bigger than Skirk’s buff to her normal attacks (70%), just to put into perspective how insane this buff is. Anyone saying Varka isn’t gonna be strong, you’re nuts. “220% of its original damage” is disgusting.

  6. dual type elemantal dps

varka excels in bolstering anemo in combination with another element. unlike other swirl characters who generally favor an abundance of variety of elements during fights, varka however prefers his own, anemo, and one other element being of PHCE. considering this the playstyle is pretty straightforward. it is simply raw elemental damage of mainly two types including anemo.

I predict his best teammate will be kazuha, followed up by durin and to finish the team you’d just use bennett. this will likely be his best team. but other than that you can mix and match to have fun.

artifact set is the new hexerei one that got released with 6.3, which I doubt I’ll have to explain why it’s the best one for him.
as for weapon: look for stats and passive that increases crit dmg/rate>dmg bonus>atk

    overall rating: solid unit (6.5/10),
however most likely not meta defining. raw anemo dps is abundant already and this is almost exactly that but with a little twist. if anything having to dual wield elements may either be good or bad depending on how his final scaling turn out therefore making him difficult to balance. his biggest drawback is being teammate reliant on premium units like kazuha and durin.

    pull recommendation:
this is for those who are looking for a fun and decent character. (similar to wanderer and xiao, whereas all 3 dps require specific premium teammates to perform decently)
as for people who want high value characters, I would recommend to skip.

    • Hello there, do you mind if I inquire as to why you think Kazuha will be his best support? Do you believe that Varka will end up favoring his non-Anemo DPS above his raw Anemo DPS or such?

From what is show my thoughts fall to Sucrose or Jean or Faruzan being better (anemo) supports, since they all more directly buff his damage and, from the way I read it he seems to favor his raw Anemo numbers.

Sucrose offers EM for his Swirls & a negligible amount of to his Normal Attacks & Charged Attacks. Plus you can stick her on Thrilling Tales for more ATK%. Plus she counts as a Hex character.
Jean for healing & double Anemo. At c2 she provides ATK Speed Buff (Since this state is on his main weapon, I presume it’ll at least be nice to have for him?) and at c4 the 40% res shred seems useful.
Faruzan can offer res shred, DMG%, and a bit of flat damage as well. And at c6 the Crit Damage seems nice.
Lan Yan provides no real bonuses but can be QoL since I don’t see res to interrupt anywhere in his base kit.

For Kazuha I am unable to find anything that would directly buff Varka (unless he ends up favoring his Non Anemo DPS), outside of his c2 (200 EM) & his Signature Weapon (Normal & Charged Damage + ATK%) In regards to limited characters I believe Venti may offer more, maybe? As he increases Swirl damage, acts as a Hex character, and at c2 provides some shred.

I do agree with Durin being a good support though. I think he & Bennett will be a strong core to any of his teams just because of how insane their ATK buffs are (+double pyro ATK%) + Durin’s res shred and off field damage.

Thank you for taking the time to read. It will be interesting to hear your thoughts.

  7. Damn that kit is interesting enough, but having two anemos on the team sucks in the gameplay feel department like 99% of the time. Including Xiao + Xianyun.

    • Considering he wants Venti or Sucrose over any other anemo, I don’t think it’s that bad, Venti’s a really quick switch and Sucrose doesn’t eat that much field time either
