Is she good with Hu Tao?
Aino looked pretty solid, but thinking about her a little more, she actually seems kinda busted.
Her main draw is her mostly unconditional aoe hydro application. Her ult should apply hydro 7 times, her skill 1 time and her C2 3 times, though the latter is tied to auto attacks every 5 seconds. That’s a total of 11 aoe hydro apllications on a 13.5s rotation, passively, which is nuts. To be fair, her teams will likely rotate every 15-16s.
Pair this with easy access to great weapons like the two new EM claymores or the Forest Regalia, and the fact that reaction based characters are easy to substat, as well as no energy problems, and you got yourself a winner.
The main thing about Aino is her value is tied to being a secondary Nod-Krai character in teams. Her raw damage is abysmally low, and her hydro application suffers greatly if she is the only Nod-Krai character on a team (the burst only applies hydro every 3 seconds in a smaller AOE if she is by herself, compared to 2.1 seconds in a larger AOE with an Nod-Krai teammate thanks to her A1 passive.
There are only a few instances in which Aino could be useful as the sole Nod Krai character:
A hydro applicator for Mizuki in her swirl teams (no longer needing to rely on Furina for that role, since Aino does not require normal attacks by the onfield character for her burst to function)
A hydro applicator for freeze teams (Skirk and Wriothesley have better 4* options in Xingqiu and C6 Candace due to both being normal attackers, but Ganyu and Ayaka could appreciate it since mostly use charged attacks and burst)
Pairing Aino with Candace so she can get hydro-infusion and be used as a driver for electro-charged and hyper-bloom (cope option).
However, she should be quite solid as a secondary Nod-Krai unit teams with Flins, Ineffa, Lauma, and likely Nefer. Even if Columbina replaces her upon her release. Aino could still have some staying power for folks who want to run multiple Nod-Krai focused teams for Stygian and Abyss. It will depend a lot on how much Hoyoverse expands characters that can use lunar reactions.
You are right, but Lunar Reactions will be the gimmick for the coming year, around which all of the hardest content and the best sets are centered around, so I don’t see this as a negative. Nearly every character has restrictions to teambuilding, so I don’t see her requiring just one other Nodkrai team member as a negative. It’s the same for every other coming character until we will arrive at Alice and Varkas.
I’m somewhat hopeful about Aino running alongside Flins, due to how Lauma doesn’t want another moonsign unless it’s a lunarbloom DPS – moonsign lvl.2 removes her bloom crits and grants lunarbloom cr & cdmg instead, and she herself doesn’t cause much lunarbloom damage – and that Flins is really glued to a second nod-krai member.
Hopefully, that is. Unless hoyo decides to be mean, which rarely happen with banners setups, as nowdays they generally provide a discount team.
Doubt it.
She will most likely be the free 4* introductiory character like Collei, Lynette and Kachina, who were all part of the first banner as well.
how does her burst work? since moonsign effects reduce from 2-3 to 1-2 nodkrai, does that mean aino q always works at full capacity as long as shes in the party right?
Look like a Blue Archive goon bait, definitely gonna see braindead oughh and cry emoji spam all over the media again.
Any word on her ICD? Seems like her ult will fire every 1.5s, hopefully they don’t mess her up and it has no ICD. 3s application time would be her death.
It’s 1.5s per hit and 3s ICD by herself. On moonsign lvl.2 however, it fires every 0.7s and applies hydro every 2.1s, and also gains AoE.
Do you know how these moonsign buffs work? Do they all activate or replace themselves at the higher levels? I would find it weird to lose that effect when 3 Nodkrai members are in the party, and instead only get the 60EM.
The moonsign buffs on skills stack, but those on artifacts don’t.
As of v2 Aino lost the 60 EM and now only has the improved burst; Lauma has bloom crit at lvl.1 and lunarbloom crit at lvl.2, the bloom crit stays and coexists with lunarbloom crit at lvl.2.
Also moonsign has only 2 levels now, requiring 2 nod-krai members to cap.
Oops just checked again, moonsign buffs of different levels do not stack unless specified otherwise.
Non-moonsign characters now improves lunar reaction damage for the whole team, depending on their stats, max 48% (per character?):
• Pyro, electro, cryo: +1.2% dmg/100 ATK (caps at 4000)
• Geo: +1.2% dmg/100 DEF (caps at 4000)
• Hydro: +0.8% dmg/1000 HP (caps at 60000)
• Anemo, dendro: +3% dmg/100 EM (caps at 1600)
Good Hydro applicator and Nod-Krai support for now, and then she gets powercrept by Columbina in around 6.2.
Also she looks like that Pokemon gym leader
exactly!! the aesthetic is nice I gib that, but the nerfing is coming so not worth getting this in wishes just wait columbina or hope its cryo not hydro
there’s nothing “good” in this shit kit
unless you want to say something like kachinacrappina being “good” becuase of CC set, so this thing here is good because of nod krai support set
sorry for potentially dumb question: does aino give 1 or 2 moonsign points?
each nod-krai character gives one moonsign, so for example if you have aino and no other character from nod-krai, your moonsign will be one
hoyo: here you are, bitches, you’ve been asked for a hydro claymore for years, now you have it
also hoyo: let’s make her a massive pile of shit as every usual 4star, especially free
jeez… they never miss an opportunity to show their retarndess
what a great game could be this one, if ruled by great minds and not tiny and greedy ones
we have more than 100 characters… try to figure out how great the gameplay would be, with a decent endgame where you can actually use ALL of them
thousands of different teams
but no
impossible
shit shit shit shit shit ???????????? she good 4* for any nod kari characters ???
Hydro claymore finally!
Let’s! F*cking! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Now that I look at her kit though… she doesn’t allow for Lunar reactions…
Hoyo, what are you doing? Why are we making new 4☆ useless now?
The main gimmick she allows for is advancing the lunar phase which it looks like provides buffs to the other 5* characters releasing in 6.0. She will allow for constant triggering of Lunar reactions by constantly applying Hydro DMG. So while she doesn’t have a Lunar kit herself, she will be the main unit to trigger Lunar reactions. Especially since Flins passive requires another team member to trigger the Lunar reactions, not himself.
Yeah, the Lunar phase will be the universal gimmick and that’s cool, still it’s worrying IMO. Imagine if Natlan 4☆ characters could use perks from Nightsoul stuff but couldn’t activate Nightsoul themselves: wouldn’t it have felt restricting?
she’s literally free hydro applicator for lunar reactions… both for kyryll and lauma – “when Aino is in the party, the party’s Moonsign will increase by 1 level” and stuff with buffing EM in same passive talent
The “Moonsign will increase by 1 level” is irrelevant since Ineffa, Lauma ans Flins increase it too, as stated in their respective Moonsign Benediction talents; sure, Aino gives extra buffs based on the phase but that’s not the point: Aino, a 4☆, only has Moonsign; Ineffa, Lauma and Flins, all 5☆s, have both Moonsign AND Lunar reaction.
Aino could be the best hydro applicator in the game, it doesn’t matter: what worries me is that for the first time, Hoyo is making a game mechanic unique not to a nation, but solely to 5☆s. And this worries me because it means that Hoyo, for the first time, is openly being greedy which is not healthy.
Moonsign levels activates certain abilities, sometimes crucial ones. For example, Aino’s ult becomes faster and gains AoE at lvl.2 moonsign; Flins’ skills become stronger at lvl.2; Lauma provides bloom crit at lvl.1 (which she activates by herself) and lunarbloom buff at lvl.2. Moonsign does nothing for Ineffa though.
I don’t see the 5⭐-only as a problem, since:
• They make much more 5⭐s than 4⭐s – as of now the count of the latter in nod-krai is 2 out of 12 (Jahoda being a likely candidate) – that you are unlikely to skip all 5⭐s of a region if you stay in the game.
• 4⭐ kits tend to be tuned so that they are significantly weaker than their 5⭐ counterparts, same for standard 5⭐s. They are doing this since the beginning – extraordinary ones like Bennett or Xingqiu are troublesome, and they actively try to balance around so we get less situations where ‘every team wants X’ and ‘X makes everything better’ (the latter stops players from pulling for new units).
• They did it before this, didn’t they? Bountiful bloom locked behind Nilou, if anyone wants to use Marechausee (the first crit artifact) they are more or less glued to Furina, and the use of Obsidian set is practically limited to Natlan 5⭐s.
They’ve always been greedy, but I won’t worry about genshin much, as the powercreep here isn’t half as bad as what’s happening over at starrail – I skipped the entirety of Natlan, the highest cons I have on any limited 5⭐ is c2 Sigewinne, and I’m still full-starring Abyss and have no trouble beating lvl.4 of Stygian Onslaught.
of course this is our first hydro claymore. a pipsqueak with a shrill af voice.
pookie buns it’s not that deep
I know! It’s perfect.
