  1. people masterbeating on skirk and new characters, are you newies or old players? because sometimes I still have fun when I see “[name]mains” on reddit, people farming and posting garbage of any type… and I wonder if they’ll ever get tired and even sick of this absolute amount of shit
I saw a guy posting a build with 246cv, a cv which I donì’t have in any chara after 4 years of playing, and i find it amusing and especially envious people
I barely play this game now, and i play less and less… i did in these days domains because of this new fooling around “blessing” which gave me nothing but crap, and not even a single usable artifact for skirk… and I said to myself, again “ok, time to stop this shit again”
idk but farming just kills the game
i went back to other games, like EDF, where you have fun and even if there’s rng it’s not this bullshit

good luck in investing your mental energies and time for this hoyo’s shit

    • My account is old and Skirk doesn’t interest me. Tired of the gimmicky team restrictions they’ve been slapping into kits lately.

Everything is already so easy you can use 4* mismatch sets still, as well as just 4* characters.
The main drawback to that now is Long Name Theater (aka Spiral Abyss With Absurd Limitations). I don’t even bother with that anymore after fully clearing it only 3 times. Full-starring Spiral Abyss & etc isn’t as important as the “muh meta” players treat it as either.

Feel free to pull Skirk and just play casually with whatever you have.

      • Well, Theater and Spiral Abyss is only for getting fast free Primos.
I just did the kill-Achievments around the Natlan Legends etc.. They were more challenging tbh.
I just hope more content like these get in the game.
That random artifact farming is annoying. Just spent everything on the new artifact domain since release just to get a med set for one char.

    • don’t bother with the artifacts bro
I used to have the perfectionist mindset where I would throw away any piece that didn’t have perfect subs for my character.
nowadays I just go for most general set or 2pc with ok subs and it works quite well. build more characters n gear em up with ‘okay’ artifacts. experiment with wackey ahh teams n have fun that way.

        • no bcs characters can do just fine with mix n match artifacts. also endgame doesn’t even give u a lot of Primogems to justify torturing yourself over full clear when exploration quests n events give u more with less effort. what can u do when the RNG ain’t just in ur favor? beating ur phone/computer with a broom so it learns not to do that again? all I’m saying is just don’t ruin your mood over some RNG, get into other aspects of the game enjoy some lore idk do whatever u like.

        • Some people with brain and dignity who understand my point,
and some idiots-troll-hoyoslaves who make fun it.

To the first ones, i’ll try to follow those advices
To the second ones, you’re pathetic

      • This is the way, especially if you find the game’s combat too easy. It’s one approach that solves two problems: too much time/frustrating grinding artifacts, and trivial combat.

I find that having a character doing 70% of their theoretical maximum damage is pretty good, so I stop artifacts when I have “good enough” stats. On the downside, enemies die a few seconds later, and I MIGHT miss out on some primogems (hasn’t happened yet), but on the plus side:
        – Artifacts never frustrate me. Rolled into Flat Def twice? Don’t care, I got 4 valuable substats and that’s Good Enough™
        – The Abyss never makes me mad; I don’t care how many stars I get.
        – I don’t feel compelled to pull the latest meta character despite not liking them. Better to save 80-160 wishes than to spend them in order to gain 100-200 primogems.
        – With all the real-world time savings, I play games that were designed to be fun rather than this game that was designed with fun elements (to capture audience) and frustrating elements (to capture the audience’s money).

I imagine for some people the grind IS fun, in which case: disregard the above. But for everyone else, we need to agree to stop doing unfun things because a manipulative game compels us to.

  2. Skirk’s Talents (STC)

    1. Reason Beyond Reason
When nearby party members trigger Frozen, Superconduct, Cryo Swirl, or Cryo Crystallize reactions against opponents, a Void Rift will be created near this opponent. This effect can be triggered once every 2.5s. 3 Void Rifts created by Skirk herself can exist on the field at once.
When Skirk hits an opponent with a Charged Attack in her Seven-Phase Flash mode, she will absorb the Void Rifts around her in a fixed AoE. Each Rift absorbed will grant her 8 Serpent’s Subtlety stacks.

    2. Return to Oblivion
When Hydro party members deal Hydro DMG, or when Cryo party members apart from Skirk deal Cryo DMG, Skirk will gain the “Death’s Crossing” effect for 18s. Max 3 stacks, each stack’s duration is counted independently.
Each “Death’s Crossing” stack increases the Normal Attack DMG dealt by Skirk in Seven-Phase Flash mode by 10%/20%/70% and increases the DMG dealt by her Elemental Burst Foul Art: Ruin by 5%/15%/60%.

For now, we do not know what the “Seven-Phase Flash” mode is or what Serpent’s Subtlety stacks do, but we’ll figure out what they are when the 5.7 beta nears.

Anyways, feel free to predict her kit based on her recent talent leaks + that Skirk BiS artifact.

    • The Seven-Phase Flash is probably a cryo conversion, maybe with buffs; Serpent’s Subtlety might provide a stacking buff, or behave like Shenhe quills (not as likely, unless her NAs are ridiculously fast). Judging by her BiS artifact (15+60 DMG%), the existence of Escoffier which strongly incentivices a team of Skirk, Esco, and Furina, and her second passive (which also shares the all-hydro/cryo requirement with Esco), SS is likely an ATK buff or multiplier buff to balance out the DMG% (or Crit buff, if the devs really want to push her sales). The artifact also suggests Skirk will flexibly choose between NA or Q in battle depending on team and/or timing.

    • Superficially, it reads like “Cryo Arlecchino”. CA to collect some thingies on the field, then NA enemies to death, or Burst to send out a quick nuke.

I’m glad to see that although Escoffier promotes a full Freeze team, Skirk herself may be playable in more varied team compositions.

      • Oh wait, maybe not.

        > Passive Talent
        > When other characters in the party deal Hydro or Cryo DMG to enemies, Skirk gains a stacking “C” effect (duration: ? seconds, max 3 stacks), which boosts her Normal Attack and Burst DMG by ?%/?%/?% respectively
        > Each character can only provide 1 “Fallen Grace” stack, and stacks from different characters are independent

I guess both characters do lock in on full Freeze teams.

  3. Dang what’s going on with the site? A new makeover? Whenever I click on Escoffier’s page, it switches to French (xd) and when I click on Ifa’s, it changes to Chinese Traditional.

  4. now imagine a hoyo team made of smart people, knowing how to improve the game, to create variety etc
and they actually already made something: in that imag theater there are special reactions they don’t exist outside.
why not making units like escoffier etc who can carry these type of things? nah, impossible

  6. Why do they always have to make the weekly boss materials from THEIR region…

It’s not like that Honkai: Star Rail…

    • Because it makes sense, maybe.
I’d rather ask, why do they make old bosses and resources become useless, since they are used for literally two characters then even new characters coming either from the same or a different region use new materials anyway?
For example, the Solitary Suanni: used for Xianyun (which makes sense) and SETHOS (who comes from the frickin Sumeru desert, where there already are FOUR BOSSES of which the drop could’ve been used, but no, materials from a cloud tiger in Liyue – makes sense, doesn’t it?), but neither Lan Yan nor Gaming who come from Chenyu use boss materials from any Liyue boss (Lan Yan uses Source Automaton, Gaming uses Fontaine’s pyro crab).

    • Huh? That’s not really true though. Even in this page alone, both characters use talent mats that are not from their country. Escoffier, a Fontainian, uses drops from a Natlan boss. Ifa uses drops from a Mondstadt boss. And if you mean from the current version/the version they’re released in, that’s not true either. Neuvilette uses Apep mats. Nilou uses Raiden mats. Ororon uses whale mats.

      • What is Raiden’s moon lore?

I suppose it’s possible, but more likely the decision is based on profit projections. Perhaps Hoyo projects that there would be fewer Raiden pulls if they first give players an opportunity to get Mavuika.
