The night soul mechanic to charge her burst is one of the worst game design that I saw, imagine if someone skipping everything for her and can fully use her at C0, meanwhile Arlechinno, another Pyro DPS released this year has a lot of combinations to play, hope they decrease the number of night soul points.
I’m still pulling for her but my only Natlan characters are only Kachina and Chasca because I’m not interested on the last ones except Xilonen but I missed her banner due personal problems.
At the very least u can use kachina , yeah thats a very low bar but better than nothing
What are the chances she’ll get a new artifact set? Or can I start farming obsidian codex for her?
I’d say the chances are pretty low. Reliable leaks have indicated that 5.3 will have no new artifact domains so a hypothetical signature set wouldn’t be out until later. Additionally, the last 2 archons (Furina and Raiden) had their best sets released with the release of their respective regions. If you want her to be an on-field DPS, I’d suggest farming obsidian codex now. If you want her to be an elemental skill off-field enabler/support, I’d farm the cinder city set for her.

at c0 to c6
-Burst does almost the same dmg, if not, stronger (saw a c0 with a c0 team doing 1.2m initial burst hit) at c6, she does 390k raw pyro dmg initial burst hit while arlecchino c6 does around 170k-280k raw pyro (depends on BoL but mine does about 280k full BoL)/
-pyro infusion dmg on par with c6 arlecchino, and the dmg number is consistent unlike arlecchino BoL dmg lowers every hit .
-NO trade-offs can be healed while in combat.
-cooler ananimations (debatable),but for me I don’t like the motor bike it’s too futuristic. I mean chasca’s revolver is ok, not too futuristic, mf just infused anemo to a giant revolver in order to make it fly, makes sense with her element.

Beta testers currently say that mavuika c2 > arle c6 atm, but we are still in the 1st stage of beta.
arlo has the added benefit of having ease of use at i think c2? and is really easy to get her to do 140k with just a normal attack.. but abyss needs 2 teams, ill use both still lol… but the issue still arises with her being a dps focus unit rather then having some support tied into her, i dunno how good her off field damage will be, if its a wide aoe, or small like the electro arcon…. but to me,,, its likely she will be out shined by newer units to come. i hope she doesn’t end up like venti.
The animations are a HUGE disappointment for me. I thought at least the archon of Natlan would be impressive but looks like not. I already dislike the motorcycle but it would have been palatable if it was just for exploration. The god of war using a motorcycle for her combat is so underwhelming.
I think they got the whole biker/motorcycle thing from the start. Look at her design. But yeah, I wish her kit was more like the one shown in her fight with Capitano. The god of war having a biker motif needs to grow on me, but the flying bike and riding on water thing is pretty cool.
i mean she literally looks like a biker to begin with so it makes sense why they would animate her fighting using a bike, im sure that devil may cry fans would love it, as for me it wouldve been cool if her bike tranforms into something else(like a bladed fan jetpack that looks like boogie pack from generator rex) when shes flying

Mavuika is a biker so she strikes with a motorcycle.
We can say it’s weird but original either than she will fight with her bare hands in mode fire hair like a super saiyan

I get some people are disappointed with her animations/playstyle, but how is she not power creeping Xianling? Her skill procs aren’t glued to the character making her better for ranged/squishy carries, she does more damage due to not needing 300% ER for good uptime, she has a nuke to add extra damage each rotation, and she can actually buff the on field character with her A4 and Cinder City set. The only way she is inferior to XL is raw pyro application, but most teams don’t even need that much and Mavuika provides enough pyro. Unless I’m missing something here, as of right now she looks like a massive XL upgrade to me.

mavuika kit is good marketing strategy. first they make monster who can eat all of your energy+nullify energy regeneration then they create character that can cast burst without energy.
typical game developer, create problem then sell solution.
Her off-field application is worse than Xianglings, her off-field damage is much worse than Xiangling’s. Yeah, ther % are almost the same, but Xiangling’s strength is snapshoting Bennet’s huge buff, because without it her pyronado damage is underwhelming. C4 Xiangling has more off-field time than C0 Mavuika (10 sec for Mavuika) and also it’s not 100% uptime, because they locked it in her C1. In terms of off-field damage, Xiangling is much stronger because of Bennett.
She also doesn’t require 300% ER again because of Bennett. And if you want to solo pyro off-fielder, then you can just use Thoma. At least at C6 he’s not energy hungry with Favonius, he gives you shield and his off-field time is much longer than Mavuika and longer than Xiangling anyway.
You also cannot use Mavuika’s burst every rotation properly without Natlan characters because of nightsoul restriction anyway. In terms of on-field damage Mavuika is strong, in terms of flexibility and off-field at least at C0 she’s meh. She’s also the first archon that doesn’t even have 100% uptime. Imagine Nahida’s, Raiden’s and Furina’s off-field has 4-5 sec CD without constellation… I think you can also say, that Furina also wants Fontaine characters to work properly like Mavuika wants Natlan chars, but that’s not even truth. At least Furina can work very well with every healer from every region and can fit into almost every team in the game, Mavuika can’t (and also Furina’s cons are still the best in the game, I don’t think Mavuika’s cons even better than Nahida’s, because both Furina’s and Nahida’s cons providing a lot of buffs to big amount of team overall, Mavuika is too selfish). They could just make a double kit for her like they did with Xilonen when she can be both DPS and amazing support depends on the team, but they decide to force her to be DPS for some reason.
I can’t say her kit is bad, I just think they MUST to increase her off-field duration at C0 and make 100% uptime to it. She’s archon after all. And with this change she’ll become much more flexible. Don’t lock her off-field potential to C1 omg it’s so stupid. This is literally the only change she really needs to become universal unit.
I’m sure she’ll be amazing, but i’m disappointed with her as another pyro main dps.
And she always needs Xilonen as well to gain the nightsoul points for her burst.
Hoyo just locked-in the roles with the elemnts as your pattern recognition can see. The pyro to be the msot DPS-ish the hydro to be the sub DPSish etc. At first i thought the will do flex and make more archetypes for every element, and playing since 1.0… Around 2.0 you start to realise they quite enjoying the limits and borders, to not turn the horseshoe shaped balance of the agame into a 3D sphere, to make a concious gap for build restriction. Is why we may NEVER have a Hydro claymore DPS user, and jsut an iffy 4* sup with a little heal or a shield, cus that role is rented out to Pyro elment.

even with this pattern they could make an exceptions and already did like hydro DPS Neuvillette, Tartaglia, Mualani, Nilou (in some way, but she’s still not a sub at all), Ayato. Or pyro exceptions like Bennett, Xiangling, Thoma, Chevreuse as sub-dps/supports/shielders, but they decided to not to. Nothing would stop them to make Mavuika sub-dps and support and also a DPS depending on the teams like Xilonen. I can’t understand why are they didn’t do it lol, it’s just so obvious decision to give us an Xiangling’s replacement and also fit Mavuika to her God of War title. I still hope we’ll see really big changes of her kit through beta.
Or they can just give her 16s duration of flame ring instead of 10s with 15s CD without C1. Sure thing dmg with this % will be shitty anyway, but at least she could work in a lot of teams just because of consistent application with 100% uptime. I just don’t know why would you use her for pyro app instead of Xiangling or Thoma whos duration is much longer, especially Thoma.
It makes me sad, but it’s still V1. Waiting for V2 and especially V3.
so she has same problem like furina back then. she only works well if her team consist of fellow natlan character. and guess what? even her cons not translated yet, i bet her c2 make her easier to obtain fighting spirit. so it either you get her c2 or pull many natlan character to use her comfortably.
hoyo looks became more generous after 5.0, but in reality it become more predatory!
Leaks indicate part of her C2 is a partywide 20% defense shred, I forget what the rest of it does tho lol
The rest of C2 is buffing her ATK by flat 300 when she’s in Nightsoul state and also some on-field damage increase. Raiden level C2, nothing more.
But what really makes her easier to obtain fighting spirit is her C1. She’s C1 locked af for now
she moves like a Pyro version of Eula, and her kit feels like a little bit of multiple other characters; kinda Raiden-ish, kinda Bennet-ish. Regardless if she’s OP or a dumpster fire, I’m going for her C2R1.
