Hmmmmm. Xiangling already has the Emblem set which I think is better on her. Diluc is another one, but since he can proc the 3 stacks of CW easily, I think CW is a better fit for him. Bennet is attack buff support and healer so 4pc noblesse is better on him. Yoimiya benefits the most from Shimenawa. Xinyan is….complicated. So unless I’m missing anybody else, Hu Tao and Yanfei.
Hu Tao will work really well in a vaporise team if you go full EM, so basically 4 different attribute, possible teams I guess being [Hu Tao, Rosaria, Yelan/XQ, and Zhongli/Albedo].
Meanwhile, Yanfei will go for a balance team build. Excluding herself, that means 2:1 of same:different or vice versa. Possible teams being [Yanfei, Bennett, Yelan/XQ, Kazuha/Sucrose]. I can see this being a CW replacement for Yanfei.
As for non Pyro characters……Hybrid Kazuha build if you are willing to sacrifice the VV resistance shred. Maybe Yae Miko if you got enough ER and aren’t using her Q often enough to justify the 4pc Emblem.
As for future characters: EM scaling, not Anemo, does not rely on burst for damage (excluding characters with bursts similar to Xiao, Noelle, Itto), or relies on NA and CA for damage and doesn’t need to use burst much (because that 50% bonus on Shimenawa is too good to pass up).
Tldr; will be good on Hu Tao with team that can get 3 stacks EM bonus, Yanfei with a [2:1] [attack:EM or vice versa] bonus from the set.
And if they are a Dendro/Electro character, that might get complicated because of the aggravate (or whatever they call it now) reaction that will buff any outgoing damage. Depends on team comp I guess. Not enough Dendro characters currently to tell. Maybe by 3.2 or so, we will know for sure.
PS. Concerning Hu Tao, Gilded will be competing between CW and Shimenawa which are really good on her. And considering most people already have one of those 2 sets on her, it might be hard to justify switching unless their artifacts are terrible. But I guess people are gonna farm for the Dendro set anyway……so optimal Gilded set for Hu Tao might just be a possibility.
That’s wrong. Shimenawa is a niche set for Yoimiya. Unless you have a team without off field DPS, you will lose 20% of your team’s damage if you use Shimenawa (because you can’t use burst). In teams with vape and overload, CW is her BiS set.
Because of that, she has 3 niche sets: Shimenawa for teams without off field DPS, CW for vape and overload teams and Lavawalker for mono pyro teams. Echos can be used aswell, but the RNG sucks.
I havent seen anyone using an cw set on Yoimiya, and actually theres no dps loss, the dps loss your talking about from burst must be really terrible team comps builds or reaaaaally bad energy management, i say this cuz almost all my main dps units that clear abyss with 36 stars use this set, (Hu Tao, Yoimiya, Ayato, Keqing, Ningguang, Chongyun, Yanfei and even Heizou) while Yae Miko, Eula, Ganyu, Ayaka, Xiao are the ones that simple cant use this set(Eula doesnt need it PF gives more dmg for NA and busts the entire kit, Xiao it performed well in tests but i didnt manage to get a set of his own that had more than 230 cdm, Yae Miko performes insenely well with thundersoother or TF and all her dmg comes from E, Ganyu performed really good with the set but i mostly use Ayaka so i didnt bother farming a set of her own and 75% of Ayaka’s dmg comes from burst to say the least), being Tartaglia, Klee and Razor the only ones that doesnt clear abyss (Klee just not my type of character to slow and to limited range so i didnt even bother testing the set on her and Tartaglia i have been farming the depth set since launch and i still cant get it above 136 cdm while every other dps character already reached 250 cdm also the skill drains energy two times regardless it still performed somewhat decent for burst spaming and Razor outperformed my expectations but since he has the discarded artifacts from eula he still performed a 15% better with PF). the only units that showed energy issues was Ningguang (i dont own albedo so this was an obvius outcome) and Yanfei (she was the only one that couldnt spam her burst, the skill has a long cooldown and really low energy generation) and ultimately i swapped Heizou to VV for the def shred.
mostly Hu Tao can charge her burst in a single E and a rotation if that wasnt enough (110% ER), just like Yoimiya (114% ER), adding up the team particle generation i just have too much energy, Ayato its the only one that doesnt generate enough energy particles for himself (low 106% ER) but the team comp makes up for it just fine in a single rotation (Ayato burst, then swap every one else, then return to Ayato to decimate everything) i already used the 80 energy on burst and when i switch back to ayato i already have full energy, Keqing never runs out of energy specially with electro resonance, Chongyum and Heizou performed perfectly fine even with spaming their bursts and on a special note Raiden performed incredible with it but the off-field dmg was better with Emblem while the burst was just a little step up with shimenawa like 10% difference(Emblem was 280% ER 50%rate 170% cdm) while shimenawa test set was (240%ER 50%rate 210%cdm) so ultimately i left it at emblem.
The ”Shimenawa performes badly” its a sign that you just doesnt know how to manage your team stats and comps and above all their cooldowns and particle generation, its like how people stick a r5 mistplitter and atk% sands on xingqiu arse and than complains that he doesnt have enough energy i mean really with a 21 sec cooldown and no battery ¿what do you expected?
To say the least every Genshin Tier list show the Shimenawa set has Yoimiya BiS, just like Husk on Yun Jin, just cuz some lowly intelligence youtuBEARS say its bad and its not bis it doesnt affect the community in general, if genshin also showed what its the sets more used on characters Shimenawa would be top 1 on Yoimiya, i have been checking every player that i coop on during domains and the sets on their showcased characters (call me sick but i do it always) and from a 100 Yoimiya’s only 4 had a CW, if you did the maths correctly you would notice the ”dmg bonus” from reactions from cw its garbage and the overall pyro dmg bonus its just 21.5% add to that a shitti what ¿0.4 on lowly reactions and 0.15 on forward reaction? just 21.9% on low dmg reactions and 21.6% bonus dmg on forward reactions? if you do the numbers this its the result in total dmg numbers from CW, if Yoimiya with cw and em triggers an Overload reaction with a 22k atk this would resullt in a ¿what? ¿4.5k (being optimistic) dmg from LVL-EM on overload? your saying a 0.4 bonus dmg to this its her BiS just a total 26.5k dmg over Shimenawa that gives a Flat 28k dmg with a 2k overload dmg with 0(CERO) EM and you could actually stick even more dmg to NA swapping the EM to cdm?, man i havent seen such and incredible mathematic and analyst in years, forget about the bad ER lie the numbers are sure incredible
Are you referring to the witch set? If so, it would be dependent on the character’s kit. But I think farming gilded dreams would be more resin efficient, cus lavawalker exist T-T

Just use both. Put CW on a support (even if they’re not dendro) and then put Gilded Dreams on your main damage dealer.
