So basically those who get Skirk to C4 at least are now f**ed? like we have ton of ATK from R5 and C4

He means he gets diminished returns from so much ATK%.
ATK% in the burst for absorbing rifts ( 22 points (with C2) at level 13 is 41.06 ATK% * 22 = 903 ATK% (alas, only for burst playstyle)
ATK% sands (without any alternative) 46.6%
ATK% from weapon 96% (R5)
ATK% from C2 = 70% (alas, only for Seven Phase Flash playstyle)
ATK% from C4 = 40%
outside buffs like TTDS = 48% and perhaps ToM with 20%
not that much of a DPS differenceif if you have 1100 ATK% or 1000 ATK%
ATK suffers no diminishing returns
The bonus from rifts in burst is additional multiplier, not ATK%, and this amount is added to all 6 hits of burst. This means her burst deals damage for ~4000% ATK at C0, ~6000% at C2, and ~7000% at C3, all of them also having a further 1.6x multiplier from A4.
Skirk can easily reach 200+ DMG% from the gallery set and a very likely Furina on team, but lacks innate ATK%, that you would need an ATK weapon, either C2 or lots of ATK substats, and maybe external ATK buffs, for Cryo goblet to become solidly better.
Forgot to mention Escoffiers signature weapon for buffing as well for ATK%, so even more convoluted~

I’ll try to explain it nonetheless, knowing you wouldn’t understand anything, but maybe other people passing by would
–> dropping 11% rate will likely mean switching to crit rate circlet, because getting crit rate only from substats is a thing for asylum. Even if you aim to 60% rate, with this sword you need (60-22= ) 38% crit rate.
–> You have 5 artifacts: you you get crit dmg circlet, you want (38:5 = ) 7.6 average crit rate on EACH artifact. That means 1-2 rolls.
–> we’re talking about 60% rate, which becomes 75% with cryo resonance. OKish, but not so great.
–> instead, if you switch to crit rate circlet, you want a great amount of crit dmg to balance it. I don’t do any calc because you know you didn’t understand a shit until now and Im just wasting my time

or you know u can always use MH. but even with SIG set, its not that hard to get good CR, even my sub optimal Galeries set hovering around 75cr/220cd without cryo res, and im not even done farming
It’s crazy how confidently wrong and rude you are. There’s no reason to be so malicious. You don’t sound wise or smart. You sound like a tool who has to put others down to compensate for their lack of knowledge. Skirk is attack scaling and lacks attack buffers others get. Because of this she needs more attack to stay competitive. Crit rate you can get in substats. You don’t need the circlet to be crit rate over 10 crit rate. But that base attack is a huge difference.
Why bother crit rate for cryo character? cryo elemental resonance effect will give us 15% crit rate 15%
+ the weapon give us 22% crit rate already = 37% crit rate
+ Character base Crit rate is like 5% right? so = 42% crit rate
+ 31% if you’re using crit rate circlet artifact = 73% crit rate
or do some bad roll crit rate and it will be easy to reach 50%+ crit rate
or change your artifact for more crit rate like using BS

If you don’t get this weapon, just use Calamity of Eshu and pair her with Citlali
or play The black sword as her 4 star options
Wouldn’t this be great for someone like Ayaka, who mostly wants a huge burst and doesn’t care much about rest of the damage? After all, after using burst, energy is at 0 and will stay like that for a bit. And if it’s possible to snapshot this buff, that would make it great for basically every offield sword user(though I doubt they’d let that happen)
Nope. Unfortunately, the weapon is really only fit for Skirk. Having EXACTLY 0 energy is kinda hard to do. Kill even 1 enemy and you’re no longer at 0.
Most enemies give you energy even when they just lose HP, without dying.
Sure, it can be used for like, a few seconds after the burst is unleashed, but by the nature of applying it, you’re gaining energy shortly after the burst due to lowering enemies’ HP.
Sure, its still a great piece with high crit rate passive, but you’re using it at 100% only on Skirk.
Unlike Skirk’s artifact, this weapon provides ATK and Crit which can be snapshotted. Ayaka’s seki no to (the burst thingy) I believe does snapshot, so she can take advantage of this sword if the burst spawns while she has 0 energy. The exact difficuty of execution depends on how her teammates generate energy, i.e., turret teammates such as Furina or Kokomi will make it harder to ensure Ayaka has 0 energy at the moment the burst is summoned.
So… I am currently very unsure about pulling for the weapon when I go for Skirk. I mean Skirk I will try to get anyways… but the weapon just does not have this “oh boy!”-effect for me. I mean how realiable is it to keep Skirk effectively on zero Energy most of the time? Especially in character rotations with a Cryo Buffer for example…? Skirk may not rely on Energy effectively, but IF her Energy Bar still is able to be filled I see a reliablility problem with this weapons Affix… and thats where I have a problem with the gain/cost factor. I have a dupe Mistsplitter Reforged, a dupe Haran Gepaku (Mistsplitter better imo but Haran would look good with Skirks Design…) and a good old reliable jade cutter.
Maybe some bigbrain math statistics Gigachad has some advice? I am really unsure about the cost/usefulness factor with in my eyes decent substitute weapons as dupes ready for Skirks use.
Skirk’s energy functions like Mavuika’s, meaning she possesses a special type of energy that differs from the standard energy mechanics. As a result, this weapon’s full passive will always be active when used by Skirk.

If you want a simple sentence, skirk only has a kind of stack for burst, no energy at all and no energy gain. So, its energy will always be 0
Skirk works like Mavuika. Mavuika always counts as having 0 energy.
So for Skirk this weapon has permanent effect.
Well it will obviously be her best in slot weapon by a pretty decent margin. Of course her kit will allow the passive to be up 100% of the time. They always design the weapons to be tailor made for the character.
Ahhhh… now I understand, also the input with Mavuika helped me to understand Kirks Kit better. First I was skeptical because I was not sure how this would plan out with Energy gain, because I would love to play Skirk in combination with for example Shenhe.
Anyways… I cant pull for her weapon anyways, because I got busted for the third time in a row with Escoffier, pulling until close to hard pitty, losing it and pulling again until close to hard pitty. Currently I get my ass whooped on character banners so immensly, that I am glad to be able to get a C0 without paying in… So the current plan is I will try to get Skirk, play her with Mistsplitter or Haran in the meanwhile and will pull for her weapon on the rerun (according to the hype maybe Skirk gets a rerun pretty fast compared to others).
This weapon will be broken with shiminawa. The buff will stay up almost 100% of the time.
Nope, Shimenawa 4 set passive still needs 15 energy or more to be consumed.
There’s barely any synergy here. Shimenawa requires Energy consumption to activate, which means generating particles and ending up with more than 0 Energy, something that cancels out the second half of the weapon’s passive. You’d have to make sure Shimenawa drains all your Energy and avoid collecting any particles afterward for it to work, which is nearly impossible.
anotherweapon which is basically broken just for the related bis chara, otherwise jade cutter is a much better generalist
At R1, this gives Skirk 48% ATK and 40% Crit DMG alongside the 33% Crit Rate. 53% CV and 48% ATK is wild.
The effects last 12 seconds, and Skirk’s skill cooldown is 9s, so these effects are practically permanent.

because human math says 33 x 2 + 40 = 106, not 53
I think this person just did it the opposite way using crit rate as the base value and dividing damage to match it:
40%/2 + 33% = 53%
the cd starts after skill ends, but the effect does last the entire skill, that’s true.
