| Description | A Natlan drink made from Cacahuatl. Initially, bitter Cacahuatl is ground up, before the drink is created by adding various spices. It is still bitter at this point, giving it its name, which means "bitter water." Though the drink goes through numerous changes before reaching its extremely popular final form, becoming sweet and fragrant with the addition of sugar, the name "bitter water" itself never does. |
