The Hoyo leaks community is cooked. I guess there’ll be lesser beta/leaks content from now on.

Not gonna lie, that definitely is a silver lining. I look at leaks so I can enjoy the game more, but the botched buffs/nerfs during beta testing do exactly the opposite of that.
True tho. It is better to be shown a finalised version rather than gradually watch a character’s stats get changed against our own will and mald about it. We don’t have the power to steer the decisions Hoyo makes during betas, and even we couldn’t even convince the beta testers to do so either, unless you have a really good connection to one.
Then again, leaks are good for people who like to plan ahead and spend less, if you want to pay the price of gradual progress over time. But recent events in the leak community have now made it harder to do so since everyone’s jumped ship :/
Deviating from Varkas here a bit.
I’m hoping the “first member in the party determines secondary element” is a sign that some of our playable Fatui chatarcters will get their delusion element types usable in a similar way.
At least Tartaglia and Wanderer since they both came out in Liyue times and we just got Hexerei for Mondstat character buffs. Just a thought though
2 weeks left before he gets released, and he won’t last long in the meta. The reason why Arlecchino is still a fantastic DPS is because she is already a fantastic DPS on her own. Combine her with some good supports and you get a beast. Mine still clears everything without much effort.
The issue with Varka is that he is not OP, but also not bad either. He’s kind of in the middle ground and will 100% get dedicated supports to buff him. But as we know, the endgame in this game is horrible, and enemies tend to get more and more HP%. They are not hard to fight or complicated, it’s just a lot of HP%, and they will keep adding more HP%. It is such a pity to see a character like Varka the head leader and by far one of the most teased characters end up as some mid-tier character. How is it that Mavuika is allowed to do literally anything? Support, sub DPS, DPS, ridiculous “combos” (animation cancels to get even more DPS), while Varka so far gets none of that. As long as a character shows her cleavage, people will hype anything up for no reason. Varka in his current state is just a waste of gems, since you will be forced to summon for his supports to make him work. But we still have 2 weeks… who knows, maybe he will get some decent buffs that will put him on par with Flins or Nefer.teams.
I doubt Varka will ever be on par with Flins or Nefer unless we get lunar swirl. The reason Nod-Krai dpses are so good is because they have their own reaction type that has more vertical scaling than 1.0 reactions (since after a point, EM gets diminishing returns unless a character requires 1,000 EM) and dedicated lunar damage supports. As far as I’m aware, none of the current anemo supports directly benefit swirl OR raw anemo damage.
Mavuika is a weird case, but pyro is probably the strongest element in the game, so I’m not surprised she’s crazy.
It’s so strange how people forget Nefer and Flins without Ineffa and Lauma can’t break 100k and more importantly, how none of you even think about Nicole and a Venti replacement coming. Hoyo isn’t out to make Varka bad lmao.
True, however, Flins and Nefer require only one 5* character to perform well. While Varka needs Durin and Venti and probably Nicole to replace Bennet, just to perform on the same level as Flins+Ineffa or Nefer+Lauma. And if they release a Venti replacement as you said…even worst.
I still think that Hoyo should had made Lunar Swirl reaction and make Varka the dedicated Lunar swirl DPS. Otherwise, Anemo as a dps element is still doomed to perform bad unless you have insane investment in such character and their team.
I think what people are ignoring about Varka’s potential is that right now Pyro is his best team. Varka is not locked exclusively to pyro, there are 3 other elements that he could utilize. I’m not saying he will ever be game-breaking, however every new support/sub-dps in these elements has the potential to be a Varka buff. And venti is only the best anemo option, not a great one, so there’s room to grow on that front too. I have faith that Varka’s untapped potential will pay out in the long run, and no it’s not cope, it’s just that with the tsaritsa on the way, the cryo roster could receive its long awaited attention.

As a long time teased character, Varka should break the game’s damage ceiling. Fuck hoyobitch for treating male characters horrendously like they ain’t superior. Dudes funds this game and they can’t even give them the service they deserve.

if hoyo is smart enough, after this guy, especially after lunar crystallize, should mean starting creating new elemental archetypes.
finally we have geo + hydro, though is quite conditional, but as always : “better than nothing”
after that, i expect a geo + anemo and geo + dendro in the future, same thing with cryo.
there’s no reason to ignore these combination
Not if it means “here’s your dendro-geo reaction, it’s unlocked by this limited 5* character’s passive only, and you are also about to get 20 different enemy types that are much harder to kill without this reaction”
It will hapen, in the chase for variety all gaps will be filled at some point. The question is just, when?
And the rest is the usual: how hard powercreep will be by then? Will the rest archetypes be ass (nilou blooms typa ass)?

So they buffed his E’s damage up in v3. No kit changes, but Follow-Up Skill and Charged Attack DMG got an 80%/40% increase.
