When first designed, this sort of announcement board was used to display "the hottest monthly news" from said paper. The editors would select the most popular reports and put up their titles for public viewing.
To see one's work up there was to know that the La Verite Prize, the highest media honor in the nation, was within arm's reach. As such, this board was also known as the "La Verite Pillar."
Unfortunately, it was not long before The Steambird made the decision to stop regularly updating the headlines on the board, owing to the sheer number of excellent reports available... |
