Well, one of my favorite character designs is Shenhe. Sadly she has not that a huge value nowadays – Escoffiert won’t make it any better.
It’s also sad, that physical DPS has not that grate value either. My first pulled 5* Eula is now benched for a very long time.
Eula’s problem is not being physical it’s being slow af
but I agree with you they bailed HARD on physical. and honestly u can’t really blame them for that. why go physical when there’s a million ways to deal with an enemy. unless the new physical character has some insanely fast and cool animations than that’d be pretty nice ngl
That is a good point. Although I think that hoyo tried to get her back on field when they designed Mika. But failed in this case.
I like nowadays the diversity of gameplay but would more like it, if old character don’t loose value.

I think it’s good for them to have some low stakes characters to balance things out and explore some of the more lighthearted aspects of the world they’ve built. Like, of course I also want characters like Capitano to be playable, but Varesa’s promo materials and goofy ass story quest were all pretty great

My little child is totally overvalued for the classic toxic community’s hype.
She’ very good and I can sign this contract, but she can’t be compared to xilonen or kazu, and always for the same fucking reason.
First of all 55% shred is big, but it’s only that. Kazu and VV offers 40, but plus elemental bonus, which is already more than that previous 55%. Same thing for Xilonen and CC set.
But Augustine is for hydro-cryo only, while the other 2 are for everything. And Xilonen+kazu have a fantastic synergy. While Escoiffie + other two loses EVERYTHING, and her kit has nothing besides that to promote freeze teams.
So if you have a brain try to use it prior shit talking.
Besides that, she remains a good chara, not broken at all because too niche, but very nice and to me she deserves a pull. But don’t shit talk about how broken she is because she’s not, and not more than perfume lady (who is dendro, a much better element)

Get Charlotte, she heals as well and she can wield OP catalyst TToDS
plus, if you want damage:
1) you also want ER, which lowers her damage
2) you want her sig, because apart from that she’s not that great. She’s ok, but check on aspirine calculator, you won’t see anything spectacular; so don’t cry after asking why she sucks
3) you want full GT set, which you need to farm if you don’t have it already.
= take an average build, give her ER sands, give her a 4star weapons, and her damage is nothing wroth mentioning.

Most of my characters use 2p ATK 2p Elemental dmg bonus or 4p glad. I only have three decent GT pieces. Not even good, just decent. Artifact RNG is awful and many casual players just stopped farming them and sharing the older ones
i think she’s more of a combination to use along with Furina ( plus healer like Charlotte ) and also giving Res Shred, it seems to be very tailored to Skirk

It’s mostly the lack of damage options in cryo and the drought of offield dpses that she is getting the hype.
Is mostly Furina having another option to allow freeze teams to get more damage… and yet another option for hydro damage buffs.
But freeze will still suck against what’s hard in this game, bosses.
And there is an interesting problem, when freeze works you won’t need a healer, you want someone to gather enemies so you can aoe them down which you will not find in hydro and cryo characters while only her burst hits in aoe, when freeze doesn’t work the BS set is just as useless in her teams, losing more than 55% crit rate since hydro damage will overtake the aura and remove the cryo resonance.
At that point you might as well just use mono cryo (which to my understanding still gets her 55% res shred) and the only thing that might be a nice addition. Or “mono” hydro teams with her as a Xilonen “competition” (55% res, heals and ST damage vs 38% res, heals and 40% damage increase)
Genshin devs have a record of not giving too much defense utility and damage at the same time, so let’s see how she ends up after beta, freeze will pretty much remain a bad reaction for bosses regardless of Escoffier presence.
in freeze teams you use furina so you need healing.
the upcoming boss is freezable and also the chenyu vale boss, maybe soon more.
like you said just use mono cryo/hydro if the boss is not freezable.
or use her as a neuvillette buff.

In hydro/cryo teams, most likely. Question is, do you really need a niche unit to free up your versatile unit, which you already have two of?

With Escoffier restricting the party to have only hydro and cryo, Neuvi (assuming C1) will loose a stack on his A1 passive which is a ~25% damage drop for him. You also loose the 40% dmg bonus from Xilonen CC. Escoffier’s higher healing does fill Furina’s fanfare faster, and she provides stronger res shred and deals damage herself; but that’s unlikely to make up for Neuvi’s damage loss, unless there are buffs heavily favouring off-field E damage, or the the enemy has really high res that Xilonen alone isn’t enough (then again Xilonen+anemo is quite common in Neuv teams), or the fourth teammate deals good damage.
(I think) Escoffier will pull ahead in any other cryo/hydro team, replacing the anemo in those teams as the shred provider, but not for Neuvi due to his A1 passive. But even then she will work well enough if you absolutely need non-VV shredder on both halves of the Abyss. I myself once passed a challenge with C2 Sigewinne shredding hydro for Neuvi and Furina. It turns out the res is just too high, especially if you cannot keep track of VV amidst the chaos of fighting, that loosing a stack of A1 in exchange for consistent shred was worth it.

no idea if c1 is worth getting one more stack on neuvillette and losing one stack on escoffier or ditching escoffier.
Furina is a special case as her own damage and strong buff do manage to make up for the loss of a stack. I did some rough calculation and:
Furina’s pets deal 10% HP/s on average. She will have ~40000 HP, so that’s ~4000 raw damage/s. With teammates at high hp she can raise that to 5600/s.
Escoffier deals 216% ATK/s. With golden troupe and Furina, Escoffier will want ATK/ATK/Crit, and given her high base ATK, she will have ~2400 ATK with a 4 star weapon. She will then deal ~5000 raw damage/s.
Since the two girls will enjoy basically the same buffs, they will have comparable personal damage. However, a good portion of Furina’s value lies in her buff, so if you were struggling to cap her fanfare, Escoffier will be an upgrade with her healing (or, perhaps a damage-deaing upgrade to the original healer). Neuv teams generally favour presence of an anemo, so shredding normally isn’t a problem; nevertheless Escoffier’s (and Citlali’s) shredding will come in handy for evasive enemies such as the sandworm.
Oh and lastly, at C0 by having only 1 stack instead of 2, Neuv only looses ~12% damage, since the 1/2 stack difference is not as large. Escoffier gains some advantage (when compared to other buffers/healers) with this.

why are you trashing on someone for not liking the region of insanity. natlan introduced a very wild effect/environment to a relatively calm and modest genshin. kinda like how chevruse was the first gun character. it’s ok to like natlan more than other regions but not ok to put down people who like other regions like fontaine. fontaine was truly unique and excellent down to the details of lore, story, and characters like furina. please be nice. this was very sad to see. you need to do better
